5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Work perfectly. Connectivity never drops. I was worried at first since my house was built in the 60's and has old wiring. However there are no issues and the product works as it claims.

Cons: No complaints

4 out of 5 eggsIt Works

Pros: This product worked right out of the box. It did not require any real technical knowledge to install the product. I use it to put my satellite box on my home network. This gave me access to many additional features of my satellite box. The satellite company wants $80.00 for the adapter to link my box to my network.

Cons: Although the product worked right out of the box it sometimes loses the connection to my network. Also sometimes the connection is slow. When this happens I am unable to stream movies or TV shows my TV.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great so far..

Pros: Works as advertised. Literally plug and play. I was up and running in 2 minutes. Only 4 of 5 eggs until I get this thing running as intended. See my additional comments below.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I was skeptic about these things at first. Worried that the old building I installed these in might have some old electrical wiring that may cause this thing to under perform. But so far, it's been great. I currently use it to connect a single Matricom G-Box MX2 media player to my NAS in the other room. WiFi won't cut it because I'm streaming huge HD video files with high bit rates. I will soon be replacing my G-Box with the ASRock Beebox N3000/B Mini / Booksize Barebone System. Attempting to beef up my HTPC solution and see if these powerline adapters can play in the big leagues.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent product - does as designed

Pros: Works very well. Excellent speeds. Have it going from a router's 1GB switch to another 8 port 1GB switch and it performs exceptionally. Have used to stream media both internally on my network and externally out to the web.

Cons: Connection drops occasionally - in over a year of use it has mainly dropped during a power failure (which is to be expected and okay in my book so I can reestablish the encryption between the two endpoints once we get power back). Other than that it has been fine minus the last two weeks when it dropped two days in a row. I'm not sure if it was a result of the summer heat and it being in a room hovering around 95 degrees.

Other Thoughts: Excellent device. Simple and easy to use. This is a cost effective fix that keeps you from having to pay an electrician to come and wire your house with cat5/cat6. Would recommend to anyone.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, little difference in speed as compared to plugging your ethernet directly to the cable modem / router! Works just as well on outlets connected to different circuits! I bought 2 sets, so I have one connected to the router and the other three give me ethernet connections in different rooms.

Cons: There is no pass thru outlet, so you loose an outlet when use it.

1 out of 5 eggsIt extended my network but it disrupted my existing wireless network

Pros: When it was connected on the same circuit the speed and latency was great. Easy to setup. I was able to stream 1080p at 60fps to my tablet using Limelight for gaming downstairs.

Cons: When it was plugged in with the same room as my wireless access point it would start dropping signal. I tried two different access points since I thought maybe there was some bad shielding in my PoE AP but both had issues. It wasn't until these things were removed and all my equipment was rebooted did my network come back and I could stream movies again.

Other Thoughts: I can't use this now and since it is defective I need to pay to have it shipped back....

4 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: - easy to setup
- works as advertised
- ordered it and had it on the front step in less than 24 hours (and that included free, 4-7 day shipping)

Cons: - buzzing from speakers plugged into the same circuit; this is not a bother and I should be able to isolate it
- watching closely for disconnects while streaming but so far haven't encountered any hiccups
- takes up considerable space on the outlet making other devices hard to fit (must be straightline). My solution was to use pigtails and plug the PLEK500 transceiver into the pig-tail.

Other Thoughts: This serves as an inter-connect between the wireless 4-port switch/AP in the living room (back of the house), with the router and upstairs AP (the front of the house). Wireless gateways didn't give me the throughput I needed for streaming. This solution tested out at 25 Mbps to the Internet (my max allowable download speed). House wiring is less than 10 years old.

5 out of 5 eggsLynksys Saved My Marriage!

Pros: This thing works very well, at least for the hour I've been using it. It allowed my to move my N router upstairs away from the gateway in the basement, where the internet comes into the house. My wife was always complaining about the inability to stream Netflix in our bedroom. I couldn't care less about Netflix, but the ensuing silence has been wonderful. Oh yeah, and so is the complete home wi-fi coverage. The speed is good, at least in my case. Also, props to Newegg for getting the thing here overnight; I only paid for standard shipping. ;)

Cons: It costs money. Frankly the $90 I paid was well worth it, so I don't mind.

3 out of 5 eggsDisconnects

Pros: Very easy to setup

Cons: Frequent disconnects that lasts about 10 seconds when used intensively.

Other Thoughts: It may be due to some house appliances, but I couldn't find out which.

Your own setup may greatly influence the performance. I got good performance otherwise. To avoid the same mistake I did: you need to plug powerlines in the wall outlet directly and not through a powerbar or the transfer rate will be much lower.

I was expecting a device of this price/brand to handle the different variations of current from other appliances, and I am a bit disappointed in that aspect.
