Pros: strong signal even from the back of the computer. i connect my iPhone and listen to music it from it anywhere in my room. by far the best Bluetooth I have ever used. p.s. works great with dolphin emulator

Cons: its kinda big but that doesn't bother me. i hooked it into the back of my desktop and haven't seen it since.

Other Thoughts: i really like it. i haven't tested it's max range and it doesn't receive connection out of my room.

5 out of 5 eggsGood news for Win 8 for a change

Pros: Newest software update supports Windows 8... amazing
Discovered devices through 4 walls! I didn't know Bluetooth could do that.... Nice surprise..
I haven't used it long enough yet to give any results on reliability, performance. etc. Just wanted to give a "heads-up" to people that may not consider this as it did not support Win 8, Install was smooth and trouble free for me

Cons: None at this time

Other Thoughts: Used on my older but still strong, XFX nForce 780i 3-Way SLI Motherboard

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what I needed

Pros: Easy to use and install, detects a wide range of Bluetooth phone headsets

Cons: maybe size could be made smaller but not a deal breaker

Other Thoughts: I wanted a bluetooth dongle which would let me use my phone bluetooth headset (motorola) for making skype calls while cooking. This thing worked very nice! Good range too, like about 20~25ft. If you want to use a microphone (H2DP) and not just headphones (A2DP) this is the easiest pic

2 out of 5 eggsRandom disconnects

Pros: Great clear sound and signal in Linux and Windows

Cons: In both windows and Linux, has issues with random disconnects. It is VERY hard to get it to reconnect!

Other Thoughts: Uhm, I've tried using the Windows and WIDCOMM stack in Windows, the bluetoothd stack in Linux, and all have the same issues. Consistently.

At first, we (not just me, but my fiance as well) thought it could be driver issues. We looked around, tried every driver option we could find, aaaand we still have issues with random disconnects. At any usable distance (from right beside the adapter, 40ft away, and everywhere in between!), at any battery strength on the connected devices, and so on.

When it works, it is FLAWLESS. It's just a craps shoot, and we haven't figured out what makes them work better or worse.

Any feedback on what we may be doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for your experience. Please email us with a phone number to contact you at support@iogear.com. We will be more than happy to contact you with quality service and process an RMA. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

1 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 Compatibility Issues

Pros: None.

Cons: I'm curious as to why my review was deleted, but this dongle is a nightmare to install. I'm sure there are those who didn't have an issue with installing it in Windows 7 64-bit, but based my on research, it seems like there are just as many who can't get the thing to work.

After installing/reinstalling a number of bluetooth stacks and spending the better part of a day trying to get it to work, it seems the only thing left to do is reformat and reinstall windows. A ridiculous solution in today's plug and play world. IOGEAR doesn't offer clear installation instructions, and their customer service is rude, ignorant, dismissive, and condescending.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for the inconvenience. To better service you and understand your set up, please feel to contact our email: support@iogear.com and we will have your problem forwarded to a product manager for his review. Please state in your email you would like this issue to be forwarded to a product manager. The GBU321 is fully Windows 7 compatible. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

1 out of 5 eggsDOES NOT WORK

Pros: I've yet to see any, but continuing to give it the old college try.

Cons: I have tried installing IOGEAR's Drivers, Broadcom's BT drivers, and a host of installing/uninstalling tricks involving plugging the device in or removing it at different moments during the process.

None have worked.

Windows 7 does not recognize the device as a Bluetooth Transmitter. It would seem that this problem is not rare, despite the positive reviews on this site.

Additionally, IOGEAR's customer service is unhelpful, rude, and condescending.

Other Thoughts: I will continue to toy with it and scour the internet for possible solutions considering that it seemed to work just fine on my girlfriend's windows 7 laptop, but if I can't resolve the issue I'll be returning it for a different device.

5 out of 5 eggsIOGEAR Bluetooth Adapter

Pros: One of the best Bluetooth adapters on the market. Why? Because it's a class 1 adapter, which provides exceptional range (which approximately is 330 ft.) also it has one of the easiest Bluetooth management software ever. Overall this was a great buy. I highly recommend it.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsDecent dongle

Pros: Great range.
FTP is seamless.
Works great under Linux (Ubuntu and Debian, no drivers needed).

Cons: Nothing ground shattering. But it's size is a bit awkward. Could easily block a UB port or two. Which is probably why it comes with a 6" USB M-F cable.

Other Thoughts: Haven't tried on Windows yet, but all I do is simple file transfer from a phone (pull pictures off and not have to deal with a cable) and wireless music- again, cable free. All in all, decent device, simple in nature, and nothing too complicated.
