5 out of 5 eggsGreat Theater Proj

Pros: Great Proj. I have had it projecting on a white wall with no issues. I finally got my screen and its even better! This isn't a terrible proj I was going to get a much more expensive one when I read the tech details and said why not and ordered it. I was really happy I did! When I got it the proj was on sale for $600.

Cons: None- just the standard price of bulbs but I haven't had to replace one yet and I have 500 hours on the bulb.

Other Thoughts: I did wish it had more features like wifi with Netflix but im not sure if I would use those features much.

4 out of 5 eggsLike it so far.

Pros: Very bright, quiet, easy to set up and got it on sale from the egg.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: This is my first projector so I really have nothing to compare it to. It was a toss up between this one and the similar BenQ. Price was the bottom line and Newegg put this one on sale when I was ready to buy. I got it yesterday and set it up temporarily with an original xbox 360 that only has component out for video (yes, there is at least one still alive)
I took it out of the box, set it on the table, connected the xbox to it, turned it on, leveled it, turned on the xbox, sized and focused the screen to my liking and that was it. I'd say 13' from the wall the image was about 10' wide. We played Madden, Titanfall and of course Minecraft on it and it looked great on a flat white painted wall. Not as good as my plasma TV of course but time and testing will tell. I will mount it to the wall this weekend and get the 1080p, 3D and surround sound system working. I'm really hoping the image quality gets better. with the 1080p hdmi connection. I am also going to paint a screen on the wall once I determine the size we are comfortable with. According to Projector Central this projector will throw a 14' wide image from 17', the length of my room.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy With Projector

Pros: When it comes to clear video and audio I have good standards. I prefer the crispness and clearness of .wavs over .mp3s. When I first saw the picture I was amazed at how clear it was. I was blown away at the focus feature which expanded the size of the screen almost twice as big. Believe me when I say this projector is QUIET. I couldn't believe it didn't put out so little sound. It puts out about as much heat as if you hover your hand over a soldering iron but in a cool room it dissipates and is almost unnoticeable. I play Mass Effect on it and its about 3 feet away from my head and I don't even know its there. If you are one of those people who can tell the difference between HD and 4K then this miiiight not be the projector for you. But if you are happy with BluRay or .avi files in HD then you will like this projector. The projector is super lightweight and comes with a case which is handy to carry the remote. It feels really portable. I have brought it over to a few friend's houses and had movie night on the fly. I have friends asking me to bring it over now because its so cool. I wanted to get a higher end version but settled with this because of the affordable price and the specifications. I got it on sale for $600 with shipping. Highly recommended.

Cons: Though I'm happy with the projector there are a few tiny nuisances. First, being as its a projector, proper placement is crucial. Properly placing it and positioning it and key stoning it is kind of a pain, but hey it works good. The one thing that really bothered me though was the positioning screw/legs on the rear corners. They designed it so that only one side is adjustable which is quite awkward. It should have 2. I don't know what the Acer people were thinking but to circumvent this you just need to place an object underneath the projector to straighten out the image. Also, keep in mind, I believe the 3D setting is slightly different than other projector in Hz speed. I think its lower but I'm not sure.

5 out of 5 eggsOver half year later still going strong

Pros: 1080P
45inch to 300inch projection
Lots of outputs
Has a good short throw for smaller rooms, quite amazing.

Cons: Audio is weak for movies - But the PRO is that it has audio out to connect to a sound system or portable speakers.

GETS VERY HOT. Is expected because of the powerful lightbulb, however it worries me of how that affects other on board electrical parts in the long run.

Easy fix to the heat, is to attach a little bit of velcro on the edges of the hot air exhaust vent and on a small 80mm usb fan and attaching it to the exhaust port of the projector to help out the small fan inside it. Yes this will mean you will hear fan noise. Not a big deal, you are gonna have the speakers turned on and not gonna hear it.

Other Thoughts: I see people here complaining left and right about this projector. I have not had a problem with it except a few times took a little bit longer than usual to turn on and one time I had to unplug it and replug it back in to behave as normal again. It's a fancy piece of hardware and software, so this is not surprising that it has hiccups very rarely. Currently put on it about 370 hours with about 90% of them in eco mode.

I wish there was a fan switch to manually turn it up to a higher speed and leave it there.

3 out of 5 eggsA Little Disappointed.

Pros: 1080P and comparatively inexpensive.

Cons: Mount holes off center and high fan noise when not using eco mode, which means I may never use it or only when using 3D (if I use it), since 3D kills the brightness (each eye doesn't see the full brightness by themselves). I like 3D, just not straining to see what I'm looking at. Passive is better in the long run.

Other Thoughts: I've only tried it out for a day so far. Upgraded from the Acer 5370BD (720p version) which I would easily give 4 or even 5 stars. I was hoping things would match up better and it would just be a swap. Luckily my mount plate holes matched, but the mount holes for the 6510 are way off from center making weight distribution severly off balance.
the throw ratio is quite different as well. I should have wired the ceiling for a tighter throw ratio, but I wasn't aware of throw ratios as much, so I wired for the older projector (distance) I had. Worked great for the 5370. Not this one. Had to mount it about 3 feet closer and even then I should be at least another 2 feet. This also means there are 3 feet of wires going from the ceiling outlets to the projector. This isn't that big of a deal, since I kind of expected it eventually. Shorter ratios have their own benefits.
I'll probably never run it off eco mode because the fans noise really cranks up, and so does the heat. I usually run projectors as bright as they'll go. Didn't run the 5370 in eco. It's fan adjusted itself to temperature. It would sometimes turn on stronger to cool things off then slow back down. I'm ok with that. I may give this back. I'm picky about little things like that.

5 out of 5 eggsacer 6510BD

Pros: the picture is bright and crips, so far. almost every feature it has been excellent. with plenty of onscreen settings to fine tune the picture (i didn't need much) its that good !
im running in low lit room 127" away from the screen.
giving me a nice 90 inch display. with the lamp setup for low light otherwise its way to bright.
and with a ROKU 3 and a home server. WORKS GREAT!!!

Cons: the remote control signal seems a little weak. (no big deal)

5 out of 5 eggsVERY nice

Pros: This unit exceeded my expectations in nearly every respect. The picture quality is OUTSTANDING, the unit runs quietly, and it has ably handled input from both the cable box (HD, of course) and my PC (a fairly high-powered home build). I previously had an Optoma 180HD, with similar specs (1900x1080 native, 2 HDMI, etc.), and this unit is quieter and seems to have better picture quality. This may be due in part to the shorter throw distance (around 9 feet seems optimal for a screen size of about 110"), but either way, I'm happy.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I did pretty serious research for this purchase, and experience now confirms in my mind that this is the best unit at anywhere NEAR the price point. I waited for the price to go under $700, and when it hit $600 (SHIPPED!) I didn't hesitate for a SECOND.
