Pros: I have owned two Netgear R6300 AC1750's since Fall 2013. Zero problems. Fast. No drop outs. I saw a some complaints about the latest model "nighthawk" not having enough options. The R6300 has tons of options; I cannot think of any option it was missing. I think I bought the v1, but there was a little sticker on it that said v2, so I am not sure what I have -- am sure it works great. Saving all the settings in a file helps too. One did lock down during a lightning storm, but I just performed the reset and loaded the settings file from over a year earlier, and it has worked perfectly since. The directional beamforming antennae are really cool. Detects the receiver then focusses the signal.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Strongly recommended.

1 out of 5 eggsupdating firmware creates a BRICK

Pros: Seem to work great since I bought it.

Cons: logged in yesterday to make a change and it showed that a firmware update was available. I started the update and waited for it to complete. I couldn't get it to respond to anything so after 30 minutes I finally rebooted. Still no response. So now I have a nice looking brick. contacted support, their response was "it's out of warranty".

Other Thoughts: This is how they sell routers. They break your old one. Too bad the next one isn't another netgear.

Pros: Fast. Relatively easy to set up.

Cons: Router design is flawed horribly. The power at my house goes out pretty often. About half the time, the router bricks. The green globe flashes which indicates corrupted firmware. Then, if you don't have a lot of tech ability, you're in trouble. You have to manually force a new copy of the firmware onto the router. This has proven to be tricky. The most recent time, I was unable to un-brick it, so I had to buy another router...NOT Netgear.

Other Thoughts: I've had this router for a couple years now, so it is out of warranty. It did the same thing while it was under warranty, but I just let it slide because I was able to fix it.

Pros: I had just purchased the EA6350 but was not getting any range from it, not counting the issues with having to reboot it. After installing a Netgear AC1750 for a friend and seeing the range they got, I decided to purchase one and try it out… couple of months later with no regrets. It is stable and the range is great. My modem is in a second floor bedroom and I have access to wifi across the house and from the deck outside.

Cons: none so far

Pros: It works when plugged directly to it

Cons: Drops WI-FI on all devices randomly
Never had a bigger lemon

Pros: great features. 5GHz networking capability. USB. Guest network setup

Cons: I have owned several routers over the last 15 years including different netgear routers. I bought this router with much excitement and for the first week it worked very well. However, now I have to rest it every day because for some reason everything on my network gets really slow in the morning including wired devices. After I restart it everything works well for a day and then it is back to square one. I just went back to my old router. Complete waste of money with this router.

Pros: Setup is Easy. You can back up the configuration of the device while it works and reload onto a new device when this one fails. You would be amazed at how many times that function has proved worthwhile.
Easy firmware updates.
Remote access works pretty good. Better in the Safari browser for some reason...?

Cons: These aren't very trustworthy routers. For no apparent reason they will completely dump their configuration, basically reset themselves back to factory new.
I support 8 locations, all of them using this router in their setup and only one of them has ever lasted more than a year and a half before getting the blinking light of death.

Other Thoughts: I could probably recommend people using these to try something else due to their poor reliability but, honestly it pays better when these device fail. And boy do these fail. I assume it's one of the reason that Netgear keeps selling them.
I've actually got one location that they paid close to $500 for a multi-hour battery backup device and it's still not proven to help one of these routers last longer.

I think if you get the blinking light of death you can send the thing back to Netgear and they can either repair it or sell it as a refurb. There seems to be a lot of these for sell as refurbs so, that must mean something.

Pros: Easy to install, fast when it's working, 5G is nice, great coverage

Cons: It ALWAYS drops the connection if it gets unplugged for a quick second or the power flickers. I have to go through this long process of changing the channels, resetting to factory settings, rebooting, releasing and renewing, restarting the modem and so forth. I knew it wasn't the modem because I plugged the device straight into it and it worked just fine, even better. It is ridiculous and it takes so much time to do this. This issue happened about 3 months after I got the router. I had a Netgear prior to this and we had minor issues. I thought possibly we had out grown it because of the HD streaming and multiple devices. Prior to that we had Belkin with NO issues, just needed to upgrade. I did not want to give up on Netgear, so I contacted the support and they gave me the run around with trouble shooting when I specifically told them all the trouble shooting I had done. It was a repetitive cycle. I asked for a replacement because it was still under warranty and all they could say was "lets try this and lets try that". It were things I had already done and repeated multiple times. It shouldn't take hours just for my router to reconnect to my devices. Waste of money.

Pros: It works when you turn it on but don't expect high performance

Cons: Very low wireless bandwidth.
I have TWC with 200 Mbps, I used this router with a EX6200.
The link rate between the EX6200 and the R6300 V2 was at 866 Mbps, with a signal Strentgh of -38 dBm (same room, no walls, only the ex-6200 on the 5GHz)
Guess what was my Speedtest.net result ?
15.12 Mbps download and 20.67 Mbps upload.
By connecting the EX6200 to my TWC wireless router. I got 110-120+ Mbps for download....
With a wire, I am able to have 200+ Mbps
I had the latest firmware, no QoS etc...
Something is wrong here.
I contacted the Netgear advanced specialists at newegg@netgear.com to have some help, but I am still waiting for an answer...
I'm gonna return this product.

Pros: Fast speeds initially, good range

Cons: Many issues after a couple months, inconsistent speeds even over Ethernet. Some devices disconnect/reconnect constantly. Cannot access router configuration page without doing a power reset first.
