5 out of 5 eggsBig Bang for your Buck

Pros: Very easy. Simply install the adapter put in the driver cd and follow the instructions. Great signal 20 feet away from the wifi. No drop offs so far.

Cons: Only con I have is that a few days after I had purchased this product at $19.99 Newegg decides to offer it at $18.99 with a $5 promotion code.

Other Thoughts: I got a computer for free from a friend, a Dell Inspirion (Windows 7). I checked stores for a wireless usb adapter and most of those that were worth while ran around $30 plus in store. Not wanting to spend a lot of money I decided on this product after some research for compatibility signal strength etc... I am very happy with my purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsNo Problems! 300Mbps at 50 feet and 3 interior walls from Router

Pros: - Good Price
- Easy set-up, when you install JUST the driver
- Speed
- Low Profile Bracket Included!
- Installed fine on Win Vista, 7 and 10

Cons: Not 2-for-1 pricing.

Other Thoughts: I've been running a TP-Link WR841ND for about 3 years without any problems. Replaced some old AirLink 54 Mbps cards with these n300 cards...now LAN throughput is fantastically fast for wireless. Not much improvement in typical internet download speed (limited by 40Mbps RoadRunner), but lest log jams, dropped packets, etc. through the router now allows video to stream better. Don't install TP's utility. Download the appropriate driver to a thumbdrive and install JUST the driver...Let Windows do the rest.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: I will be using this in every setup I build or upgrade in the future. For myself or for clients. SO clean connection from 2 rooms away upstairs, and at that my wireless router is a 15$ netgear that lets just say most people wpuldnt rate high on the signal list.

Cons: No cons. I will post if this thing fails on me. but judging from past reviews ive read consumers use this thing for years on end now with ZERO issues.

5 out of 5 eggsSimple plug and play

Pros: I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about poor signal and ping issues, but I put this in an open pcie slot without installing any drivers and it works great. I am a gamer and I have had no latency/ping issues with it and my down/up stream is close to what I pay for. Once Google Fiber is finished installing in my town I will have to upgrade, but for the 60/6 I currently have this is perfect. The signal strength is good considering this computer is 2 walls away from the router and is inside a desk. I currently have 4 bars and a 20 ms ping running speedtest 40' from the router

Cons: None, got this for 10 bucks after using a promo card I had.

Other Thoughts: For anyone that does not have gigabit internet this thing works great and considering most of the country does not have access to gigabit currently there is no need to drop a ton of money on a wifi card that can achieve those speeds even though your current plan does not break more than 100 Mb. This card is a good stop gap if you need a windows 10 compatible card that will offer good speed until you have gigabit in your area. I hope this helps

3 out of 5 eggsEasy setup, not good for gaming

Pros: I loved how easy it was to setup for my new windows 10 desktop. I didn't have to install any drivers or anything, i just had to put it in the PCIE slot in my motherboard, and turn on my computer and i could connect to my network.

Cons: I bought a gaming PC, and it didn't come with WIFI built in so i had to buy this. If you plan on gaming with this, don't buy it because i kept getting kicked from pretty much every game i played because my ping was too high. The speeds on it are really slow, but that's what you get with a $20 card. If you're just going to use it for web browsing and basic emailing though, its perfectly fine.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend it, just not for gaming

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well under Linux / BSD

Pros: Plug and play with Centos 7 , BSD (PFSense) and Also plug and Play for Untangle / Low Profile capable

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Comes with low profile interchangeable plate to mount in low profile case (worked in the 1U rack server it was installed in) Works just fine for a UTM (No need to have an external wifi access)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Adapter

Pros: No drops, plenty fast, PCIE

Cons: Wasn't free? I dunno

Other Thoughts: I've had this adapter for about a month now, and I love it. I didn't even have to install any drivers for it. As soon as I started up windows, it just worked. Considering I have 51 megabit internet (terrible, I know), this does the job great. Would reccomend it in a heartbeat.

2 out of 5 eggsDrivers

Pros: easy install

Cons: No Windows 10 drivers? Not pulling down more than 5mbps and not pushing up more than 8mbps. Not sure if this is the lack of Windows10 driver or not.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Unfortunately we do not have any official Windows 10 drivers on our website.

We will be releasing them on our site when ready at: http://www.tp-link.us/download/TL-WDN4800.html#Driver

Please check here for any updates and feel free to reach out to us if you have any further questions or concerns.

1 out of 5 eggsGood price. Poor connection

Pros: Good price.

Cons: Very poor connection. My router is only 20 feet away from my PC and the connection is so poor that I'm not even able to browse the internet.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for I guess.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for checking out our Adapter and we are sorry to see that you've had some issues with this device.

If you haven't done so already then I would suggest trying to reinstall this device without the Utility, but with the Driver only. You may find the Driver on our site at: http://www.tp-link.us/download/TL-WN881ND.html#Driver

Please try to disable any anti-virus software that may be slowing down the connection and checking if the speed picks up.

Since this device is usually located in the back of a Desktop, and the Desktop is usually on the floor near a wall or under a desk, it is best to move the computer away from the wall a bit to have more of a clear line of site to the Router.

We do have a 24 hour technical support team that can assist if you have any further issues.

Best Regards!
