1 out of 5 eggsWARNING HEALTH HAZARD!!!!

Pros: Lots of ports as well as nice port configuration.

Cons: This is an update to the review titled "Ouch my ears!". This hub's power block emits a nonstop high pitch noise which has the potential to cause !!!PERMANENT HEARING DAMAGE TO CHILDREN AND PETS!!! The noise from the hub was getting so bad that it was !!! CAUSING ME HEADACHES AS WELL AS PROBLEMS WITH MY SLEEPING SCHEDULE!!! I have RMA the hub already and it's replacement has the exact same problem. I will not RMA this thing again, because it is not worth paying the shipping just to receive another health hazard back from SIIG in the mail!

Other Thoughts: If you are a SIIG employee that is reading this and would like a better review for this product, I would be willing to write another review for this hub if send me one that doesn't have the noise problem and I won't have to pay the shipping for it!

2 out of 5 eggsDied after exactly 3 months

Pros: Performed well while it was working.

Price was good, picked it up on sale for $20. During its life, it served a headset, a printer, a mouse with extra buttons, and an Xbox controller.

Had minor problems (it seemed to be picky as to which USB port it was plugged into on my machine) but none that made me care.

Cons: Died after 3 months of use, to the day. Quit on me in the middle of a Left 4 Dead 2 realism versus match, at an amazingly crucial moment. I had been using this to game for its entire life, so it's not like this was a one-time thing. If breaking after only 3 months of use would annoy you, avoid this product.

It does indeed emit a high frequency sound when plugged into power. It's annoying, so I usually left it unplugged, plugging it in only when I wanted to sync and charge my iPod. If that would annoy you, avoid this product.

Other Thoughts: WHY THAT MOMENT? WHY? WE COULD HAVE WON. BUT WE DIDN'T, YOU STUPID USB HUB, AND I BLAME YOU. I HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY WITH YOURSELF.

3 out of 5 eggsOuch my ears!

Pros: I got this ideal on a deal for $20 and have used it ever since. I like the way they spread the placement of the 10 USB ports back three and the back of the room the top and form the front.

Cons: The USB cable going from the hub is not modular which means you can't detach it if you want to lug the hub around with you. Also after using this hub for over a month a strange high-pitched buzzing sound has started to emanate from the power block the King with the hub. I've tried to troubleshoot this to no avail by disconnecting all attachments and reconfiguring them in multiple layouts and nothing has changed it. The sound seems to come and go but when it's there it's really annoying I can't decide if it's worth doing an RMA over or not because I can't return it to new egg because it's already been 30 days. This means I would have to send it in for award to the replacement through the manufacturer in our notes worth the hassle or if they would even replace it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat in Comparison

Pros: Maxes speeds of USB can handle 6 high power usage keyboard/mouse/2xUSB/MP3 player/SD adapter all full power and speed. I haven't had any power issues or losses besides from something i expected.

Cons: Losses connection with mouse sometimes, high pitch frequency is also annoying but if you use enough power it gets high enough to go away. The mouse issue is due to the mouse using a lot of power and speed most likely. Not meant for a hub is my guess.

5 out of 5 eggsCompact and Functional 10-port USB Hub

Pros: Dose what it is suppose to do. Allowed me to connect portable USB hard drive and transfer small files at over 18 GB/sec. Large files transfer at 12 MB/sec. The 10 ports allow me to connect external keyboard, mouse, printer, film scanner, cell phone, video capture, HD webcam, portable hard drive, flash drive and more to my laptop. USB dongle is long enough to allow you to place hub in cabinet out of sight and hide all my extra devices and cables.

Cons: I have not encountered any problems with this hub.

Other Thoughts: Others have stated that they wish this hub could charge phones when the computer is off. This is possible if you place the USB Hub on a seperate surge protector from the computer and cycle the power after the computer is turned off. Cycling power kills the light on my Microsoft USB mouse while restoring power to my LG Android phone so it can be charged.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little hub

Pros: It's powered. It has ports on three sides. It has 10 of those ports.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I used an active repeater to hook up this hub 16 feet away from the tower, otherwise I might not have gotten the reliability on all ten ports.

1 out of 5 eggsSICK not SIIG

Pros: see my thoughts below

Cons: see my thoughts below

Other Thoughts: Well I never got the product because when it went on Sale, After two days Newegg.com advised me that it is on backorder and then they actually canceled my order and credited my card. WHY? They could have kept my order on backorder. I am in know hurry. All those ads and no product.

1 out of 5 eggsSIIG JU-H00012-S1 USB 2.0 10-Port Hub

Pros: Lots of ports

Cons: This USB hub emits a high frequency noise and it gets worse depending on what you plug into it. A USB memory stick it is very low. Plug in a USB mouse and it becomes very loud and annoying.

Other Thoughts: I would not purchase another one of these items.

4 out of 5 eggsAll Those Ports Don't Mean Anything

Pros: 1) Lots of ports
2) Small and flat, can blend in
3) That's about it

Cons: 1) Despite having its own AC adapter, it still requires a direct connection to the laptop/computer for it to work with anything else.
2) Only charges my iPhone when hub is plugged into laptop; DON'T LIKE HAVING TO KEEP MY LAPTOP ON OVERNIGHT!
3) Small weight and size can make it easily moved by the slightest tug of wire.
4) The outlet adapter takes up about two spaces (those radically big ones for some reason)

Other Thoughts: HIGH FREQUENCY: I have not noticed much in terms of high frequency as another reviewer/poster noted, but I will keep an eye out for it. Next to my entire desk, I have both an iPhone 3GS and my home telephone (connected through Vonage). I will keep an eye out for this!

1 out of 5 eggsReview for now...

Pros: Well, it looks nice, has a good number of ports, and was looking forward to using this.

Cons: Warning: Looks aren't everything...

this thing emits a very HIGH frequency that hurts having to listen to. Probably a defect... contacting newegg, I will update review with their response.
