4 out of 5 eggsGreat for specific purposes

Pros: A small wireless router with decent range.
The TP-Link software is easy to navigate.
Setup is simple and painless.
Speed is what you expect.
You get what you pay for.

Cons: Doesn't allow too many port forwarding settings.

Other Thoughts: The purchasing of this router should be situation. What I mean by that is that you shouldn't buy this to be your main home wireless router(unless you have a small apartment or something like that). I purchased this router to setup a miniature network in my room. I would highly recommend this for wireless extension projects (in which you install these around your house).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cheap hub

Pros: Price, 4 SSIDs, easy to set up

Cons: only 2 LAN ports

Other Thoughts: I purchased this router to give guests wifi access without letting them access my main network. The FiOS Actiontec router only supports 1 SSID. Rather than spending hours hacking the Actiontec to accept a second network, this $12.99 router got the job done in no time.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Basic Router

Pros: Great coverage for my daughter's 850 sqft. apartment.
Feeds a desktop PC, TV, and a couple of smart phones all wirelessly with no problems.
Was able to talk her thru setup over the phone.

Cons: Doesn't look like a sci-fi movie prop.

Other Thoughts: For a basic no frills setup it can't be beat. Got this unit for $12.98 shipped. 4 stars only because it's been in use four months. Will have to see how it holds up.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Router

Pros: Inexpensive and gets the job done.

Cons: The web user interface could be better, but it is definitely usable.

Other Thoughts: I bought the router because I wanted an inexpensive solution for an apartment that I rent when I am at work (and away from home).

I've been using it on a TWC 2/1 (Lite) account, and thus far it has performed solidly.

5 out of 5 eggsOver a year and still works like new.

Pros: Has all of the functionality that I need for a basic home router. In the year I have had it, it has needed to be reset less than 5 times, and works reliably.

Cons: none so far

1 out of 5 eggsGreat trash can router

Pros: Price.
Great range for an product with no antenna.
After about two weeks it fits nicely in a trash can.

Cons: sporadic, discontinuous wireless.

Other Thoughts: I would urge anyone considering this router to think again. This thing worked very well for about two weeks at which time the wireless started to disappear. I would have to pull the plug and reset it only for it to disappear again. I upgraded to the latest firmware thinking that might fix the problem but it was a waste of time. Think about it, if it were worth more, it would sell for more. Units like this are made to be sold, not used. Spend a few more bucks, get something worthwhile and save yourself some frustration!

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Customer,

Thank you for checking out our Router.

We are sorry that you where not satisfied with this product.

The firmware upgrade was a good attempt as we try to publish new firmwares to fix any bugs or issues that may be present with the Router.

It is hard to determine from the post why your Router might have failed, but we do have a 24 hour technical support to help in situations like these.

We also have a 2 year warranty to replace any devices that may be defective.

If you have any issues or concerns then feel free to contact me directly at howard.he@tp-link.com.

Best Regards!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy, for the price.

Pros: Consistent connection (no drops)
Low price

Cons: Low Range

Other Thoughts: For the price, you are not going to get a full blown router; however, that's not why you would want to buy this router.

If you want a router that works in a small room or apartment, get this one.
