4 out of 5 eggsSmall, inexpensive and easy to use

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: - Compact, fits just about anywhere
- Nothing to configure, just plug in the cables and go
- Does what it claims to do

Cons: - Not wall mountable unless you stick something to it like double-sided tape or velcro
- Nothing to weigh it down, depending on how it and the cables are positioned, the front tilts upward

Other Thoughts: I bought this after turning an old computer into a Linux-based router. NICs with 4 ports on them are pretty pricey, so this was a cheap way for me to extend my wired network. The upward tilt mentioned in the cons is annoying, but not enough to not recommend this switch. It does exactly what it should do.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as it should.

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: No problems, works as intended.

Cons: I suspect it doesn't quite get to 100Mbps with most devices but I can't confirm that.

3 out of 5 eggsKVM Switch

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: Concept is good.

Cons: The USB connectors apparently aren't very tight, and cause involuntary disconnections of the plugs. I'm not able to use the KVM switch because of this.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes exactly what I needed

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: Cheap, I got this for $10.

-Plug and Play
-No speed decrease

Cons: None that I can see.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to connect to a Netgear 200 mpbs Powerline adapter, so i wouldn't have to constantly unplug the ethernet to swap between the PS4 and PC.

With this switch I can play both simultaneously, and my ping and download/upload speeds have remained as consistent as they were when plugged directly into the powerline adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for the Price I paid!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: Small
Reliable
Fast enough for my needs
Was really a steal of a price when I got it.
I am a currently a college student and in my dorm I only have two Ethernet ports available to me. This is a problem when I have my desktop my laptop my tv my gfs laptop and other things I like to hook up to Ethernet when I am working on them. I also frequently attend lan parties and college wifi is pretty inconsistent when it comes to gaming/streaming/downloading. This thing is nice and portable for such occasions.

Cons: If any exist it might be that it is limited to 100mbps so if you are lucky enough to have gigabit connection speeds you might want to look elsewhere.

Other Thoughts: When you are looking at switches the two big questions I think you need to ask yourself is how many devices will I be using, and how badly/if at all do I need 1000mbps speeds. I got this little guy for ten smackaroones and I couldn't be happier. Downloaded 7.5 gigs in 22 minutes through this little guy just last night while 3 other buddies were playing league and watching netflix. 100mbps is not slow lol. 10/10 would buy again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

This review is from: TP-LINK TL-SF1005D 10/100Mbps 5-Port Unmanaged Desktop Switch, Power-Saving

Pros: I love this thing, I use it with my powerline adapter since my router is in the other room of the house. With a powerline adapter you only have 1 ethernet port but this definitely makes it worth the well spent money. Especially when I got some $$$ off from a coupon code I have received in an email.
I know have ethernet all over my room.

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: Definitely get this if you have the money.
