1 out of 5 eggsHorrible quality

Pros: The computer worked for about 11 months.

Cons: The computer only worked for 11 months and the hard drive stopped working completely.

Other Thoughts: Would not buy again.

2 out of 5 eggsNot solid

Pros: Price. Form factor.

Cons: Troublesome network card. Some instability.

Other Thoughts: The small case is perfect for the cabinets that we put our office computers in. When the 500B model was discontinued we switched to these instead. Where the older model was solid, these are flaky. In some stations they will not complete a network connection, and when they do the transfer rate is in the single digits. We're also experiencing occasional, spontaneous reboots.

2 out of 5 eggsPoor Quality Control

Pros: When it works, it's a pretty nice unit.

Cons: Serious motherboard issues. Sometimes the front or the rear USB ports just stop functioning until a reboot. HP's onboard MB diags also show USB failure. Also, I see that I'm not the only one here with the same problems.

Other Thoughts: I really wanted this unit to work out, as I spent a lot of time configuring this unit for a business client. Since it was within 30 days, Newegg is RMA-ing it, and I just ordered a Lenovo.

3 out of 5 eggsPSU failed in 2 months, Newegg and HP will not honor warranty

Pros: The unit is fine as a desktop. Does what you need. The pricing is average but I have to spend $80 - $100 to buy a replacement power supply, boosting total cost.

Cons: Although I have 8 months of warranty left, both newegg and HP refuse to honor the warranty. Each claims that the OTHER is responsible. Well between the one that made the PC and the one that sold it, you'd think a warranty is a warranty. Nope, not worth the "paper" that it's "printed" on.

Other Thoughts: As an aside, this was the straw that broke the camel's back. After doing business with newegg for over a decade, I will never buy anything from them again. (The replacement PSU? Yeah, that's coming from a retailer that has the name of a large cat in the name, and then the word direct).

2 out of 5 eggslooks good-but serious flaw

Pros: I love everything about the speed and processing power of this copmuter.

Cons: But the harddrive just failed on me and its only been six months since i purchased it, its supposed to last at least 4 years.
also two of the usb connections occasionally refuse to work.
so this computer kind of sucks. I feel like I got a refurbished computer, or a defective one for 600 bucks.

5 out of 5 eggsA simple, reliable Win 7 system

Pros: Was looking for a simple, reliable 64 bit Win 7 system. Most of what's on the market now is Win 8 and the wife needed a basic box for watching videos and doing some work at home. Did not think i7 was necessary and I was right... this i5 system is a solid choice for home and work use

Cons: There was some junkware that needed to be uninstalled. That amounted to much less than you usually see on a name brand PC though. I know they are being phased out but a parallel port would have been nice.

Other Thoughts: In an age where Dell is still churning out plastic junk (how is that company still in existence?!) it's nice to know you can get a great deal on a simple x64 win 7 system from HP.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Comes with Windows 8 Pro too. Perfect small business Windows 8 Pro machine. Core i5. Cheap

Cons: Took 5 DVDs and a lot of waiting to boot up Windows 8. Not many USB ports. No USB 3.0.

4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good, did need to clear powercable from blocking case fan

Pros: perfect for standard business application use.
small
quiet

Cons: pow3er cable inside case was blocking case fan and kept getting fan not detected on boot up. Quality control needs to be better but no biggie for semi technical to clear.

Other Thoughts: Windows7, YES

3 out of 5 eggsHP Business Desktop

Pros: Turns on, boots to setup screen, easy setup. Speed is what I would expect from a 4gb i5. Sufficient hard drive for a business PC. Comes withy 64 bit Windows 7 Pro

Cons: First irritant I ran into the preinstalled software. It takes time to remove all the unwanted stuff. Second, it has two video ports on the back. With all other HPs I have bought for our company, that means it will support two monitors. This guy had a VGA port which worked fine and a DVI-D port which would not. I bought a DVI-D to VGA adapter, still no go. So I bought an inexpensive add-on video card with two DVI Connectors (not DVI-D) and was able to get both monitors going.

Other Thoughts: I would prefer being able to choose if I want to install the preinstalled software, or just delete it. Would have preferred standard DVI Connector instead of DVI-D. Neither of the monitors I tried would plug into it.
