1 out of 5 eggsBad touch screen

Pros: Price
HDMI input
small footprint

Cons: OnScreen keyboard was useless,
Touch sensor would not work with multiple finger jesters.
Monitor stand

Other Thoughts: I ended up swapping it out for a similar Viewsonic model and have been using it for nearly a year now. Very happy with the swap.

4 out of 5 eggs3 year Mfg warrany!

Pros: -3 year Mfg warranty on this monitor, you send it back, they fix it, then ship it back, and it only costs you outbound shipping.
-HDMI input, I used this monitor with my PS3 for awhile when I had to get a new TV.
-Works great with mouse based games like Civilization V.
-Fun for scrolling through web pages and reading webcomics.

Cons: The touch functionality on mine died after a couple of months-see warranty in Pros section.

Other Thoughts: Planar customer support was very easy to deal with on setting up a repair on my monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsRead the specs...

Pros: Just had to post this in response to the "person" who is raving a few posts back about it "not being compatible with XP."

...if one would take a few seconds to actually read the specs of the item before they buy it, they'd see that it specifically states that it works with Win7. Period. It says nothing about working with XP at all...

Cons: the reason why someone would buy it to try to use with XP...

Other Thoughts:, apparently, because reading is hard.

5 out of 5 eggsPortable, Ubuntu 12.04 Touchscreen :D

Pros: I really love my monitor. I got this model over another Planar touchscreen because of the LED; I'm glad I did. Beautiful color, excellent contrast and sharpness, and easy on my eyes.

Touchscreen is auto recongized as a mouse under Ubuntu 12.04 via USB cable. The built-in stylus docked in the lower left-hand corner of the monitor was a pleasant surprise.

The monitor is very durable, and the touchscreen does NOT scratch easily. I love the touch sensors for the monitor's buttons. Excellent choice on the stand.

I like the ability that I have all three major video ports to choose from: VGA, DVI, & HDMI. This gives me options if I am presented with a challenging setup.

Finally, the additional speakers and headphone jack is nice feature that I do appreciate.

Cons: I really love this monitor. I want it to be my #1 for the next 5-10 years. I have no complaints for this model.

I have a few suggestions that would have added the final touches. First, an intigrated eyecam would have been great, but it might have added another USB cable to plug in. Second, if the stand could have rotated so I'd have the choice of landscape or portrait. But engineering-wise, that might actually be a BAD idea. So I'm an all go for the stand they chose.

It's too bad that this monitor has been discontinued through newegg. This is definitely a winner, and well worth the $400 range.

Other Thoughts: Don't rely on any monitors having good speakers. Good speakers are naturally bulky, and heavy. This is why LCD/LED TVs are getting out of this market and handing it off to soundbars. It makes good practal sense. With that said, these speakers are not too shabby, I'm glad it has something.

Refering to the touchscreen, working well with linux and Ubuntu is a big plus in my book. So, I'd assume it'll work great with Macs as well. Sorry Windows folks, I feel bad for you. IMHO, I'd look for other OS options.

The flip-out frame stand is the perfect option for a touchscreen monitor. One might get put out becuase it doesn't swivel, pivot, raise up & down, etc. However, try giving those monitors a decent push with your finger and you'll quickly discover how unsturdy those designs really are. The flip-frame really IS the perfect choice, and they did a great job.

Finally, to the surprise of many who might read this, I wanted my monitor to be portable. And, it's portability is great! For now, I'm still using the box that it shipped it. And, even though the box is falling apart, it's not hard to: 1. Unplug the cables, 2. Plastic the monitor, & 3. Fold it up, put it in the box, and carry it out. It is durable to grab and move and light enough for me to carry.

This was a good and fair purchase for this monitor.

3 out of 5 eggsNeat Product / Defectiveunit

Pros: Sleek Design, Easy to use, windows 7/8 native drivers work great.

Cons: My unit had a defect in the upper left detection camera that resulted in the touch being significantly off (about 1 inch) from where you touch in the upper left corner of the screen.

RMA to Newegg for a replacement but the product had sold out (Probably due to windows 8 release) and I got a refund instead. So, this time I purchased an Acer T232HL. Hopefully I will have better fortune with this Acer product.

Other Thoughts: I beleive this is a good overall product, minus the defective one that I received.

3 out of 5 eggsDoesen't work with Windows 8

Pros: Good touchscreen monitor if you plan to stick with Windows 7. Works great with Windows 7.

Cons: Doesn't work properly with Windows 8 final release, it works sometimes what but does not work properly. Some windows it does not work at all and sometimes when it does work the touchscreen is not accurate. I called their tech support and was advised that no drivers were being written for Windows 8 at this time and may not be written at all. There is obviously no long term support for this product from this company.

3 out of 5 eggsnot good with Windows 8

Pros: large, bright screen.
good design. touchscreen works great.

Cons: I tried calibrating the screen in Windows 8. I could get the screen to accept swiping from right edge to left. However, I could not get swiping from top edge to bottom to close an app to work. Swiping from left edge to right wouldn't work, either.

4 out of 5 eggsNot 4 Windows 8

Pros: Beautiful monitor, great picture. Touch works well on the center of the monitor

Cons: Touch does not work on edges or corners as required by Windows 8.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy this for Windows 8. The issues with this touch screen are probably not driver related, but relate to the construction of the monitor itself. This doesn't also seem to support the full range of multipoint gestures in 7 as well.
