5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Mouse!

Pros: - Very precise
- Love all the color options!
- Well-placed buttons. Easy to access, but you won't hit them by mistake.

Cons: - Sometimes the LMB makes a really weird squeek when you press it. Not going to bother me though!

2 out of 5 eggsShould have bought a better mouse.

Pros: Cheap, lots of buttons you can program in games and such, somewhat customizable lights.

Cons: Cheap laser(stutters, lags, pointer moves on its own when the mouse is stationary. Lights wont all match if you pick custom colors other than the few presets they give you. First and formost its a mouse though, and if it doesn't work flawlessly as that at least then it sucks, thus the 2 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Get the laser of your mouse right and fix the led color customization and it would be awesome for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsGood so far, but some driver issues

Pros: I've had it for four months so far. It's comfortable, very inexpensive, has plenty of buttons, decently programmable and they're all relatively easy access. The top mouse buttons could stand to be as wide as my Logitech M570 so I can have my index finger more comfortably on the right button, but they're still easily wider than most mice.

Cons: I have to re-install the driver every few days to weeks. I originally thought the problem may be the Microsoft keyboard driver or the Logitech trackball (for work) driver. I uninstalled both but it still happens. The symptom is that the cursor will either hold steady to one side of the screen, only move a small amount, or only move on one axis. After I re-install the UtechSmart drivers and reboot everything is fine.

Other Thoughts: Overall I'm quite happy with it. The driver issue is an annoyance, and could be specific to my machine for all I know. Fortunately it only stops working on a fresh start and rebooting is fairly quick on my machine.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've been pleasingly surprised with how great this mouse is. The build quality is great, and so is the performance. I pretty much use it for WoW, all the keybinds work flawlessly. The software is also fairly easy to use. I've owned it now for about 5 months, my razer naga lasted me 2 months. I'm not very great with these reviews, so I'll just stick with what I've put.

Cons: The buttons on the side are a little hard to press, takes a bit of getting use to.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than others at same price

Pros: Before you close this tab and search instead for a used razer naga, let me tell you that this mouse is no joke. The excessively long title, seemingly unheard of asia-based company, and fire effects on the box may make it seem cheap and unprofessional, but this optical multi-purpose beauty has skyrocketed to the top rank on my list of favourite peripherals. Let's start with the fact that this can flawlessly employ it's powerful 16,000+ dpi, which I personally find a bit excessive, but you may have a use for it (4k screen travelling?). Even more impressive than its unrivalled dpi is the ability to travel as low as 50 dpi, with 5 customizable dpi presets that can be quickly interchanged with the push of a button, which there seem to be plenty of on this mouse.
Its 12 programmable hotkeys, if you could call them that, are extremely useful for any task, whether it be adjusting every possible parameter on your itunes, or binding paragraphs of insults to your favourite video game; these buttons can get the job done with room to spare. I personally use them for quick tool switching in digital media editing, and the last 3 for play/pausing, skipping, or returning to songs on itunes (the mouse comes with these options, no keyboard keys involved).
Being a high-dpi capable optical mouse, this mouse can track smoothly on nearly any surface, even my glassy desktop! (ok, not smoothly there, but it works in a pinch). One of the possible downsides of using an optical sensor is that it eliminates the hardware-caused acceleration that is prevalent in all laser mice. The adjusting time for the sudden perceived slowdown is only a few days to a week, but after that you'll be so glad you made the switch, the accuracy (and difference) is astonishing.
Now, the weights. I personally never used them, took them out when I got the mouse, because I feel the mouse is heavy enough on its own, and I have a steady hand to keep it from jerking around as well (however this seems to be more of a problem at the 4000+ dpi range). For those of you who prefer a weighted mouse, don't worry, this mouse has plenty of additional weights to add.
Now on to the aesthetics, This mouse has one of the most advanced lighting systems I've seen on a mouse, 16 million colors (as it is commonly called) are available in a color wheel similar to adobe's common square color selector. There are customizable options for light breathe speed (bright-dim fade shifting) which is also removable, and light brightness. There are 5 premade light profiles, and you can customize them in every way possible, but the profiles are important because they're the only 5 color options available for the "headlights" and scroll wheel. So unless you like half&half, I suggest sticking to a color you like, and adding a similar color for the logo & hotkeys.
One final addition to this review that I'd like to make is the also mappable "fire button", which is a slightly less sensitive key next to the mouse button. I love it.

Cons: The usb entry stick is a little long, but looks like alienware, so it's cool.

Other Thoughts: Because I ran out of characters on the pros, I find the fire button extremely useful for navigating file menus (set clicks/time to 2 with 1ms spacing) and the like.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it. Massively affordable, at the same time, a quality mouse.

Pros: - Attractive design, Good materials
- Mouse feels great
- Love how the lights breathes
- Selection of multiple colors
- Easy to use program
- Price (I got it for 33 bucks, but it might go back to its original pricing later)

Cons: Only one con which is you can't customize the color for the dpi lights, it stays red.

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a Logitech MX518 (had it for almost 8 years or so). I've never own a mouse with program buttons. Was thinking of getting a Razer but it was too expensive. Can't think of any other cons, probably because I don't play MMO, someone with MMO mouse experience might points out the cons.

4 out of 5 eggsWhat I expected from a gaming mouse

Pros: All the important buttons are fully Mappable and the program that came with it supports macros and multiple profiles. The mouse is heavy and definately built to take some abuse (I'm kind of rough on my mouse during gameplay). Very easy to set up and use.

Cons: Would like to have the 1-6 and 7-12 buttons slightly seperated allowing for easier identification of the buttons.

Other Thoughts: I've only owned this mouse for about a month. As i got used to all the extra buttons I became very happy with my purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Mouse

Pros: Comfortable mouse for different types of grips (claw and palm.)
Drivers are nice, you can change all the LEDs, program the buttons, and set macros for gaming use.
Lots of buttons for MMOs, and even a good mouse for FPS gaming as well.

Cons: The thing that really ruined it for me is the HORRIBLE laser. I have a friend who also bought the UtechSmart Venus 50, and he is also having the same problem where the mouse is constantly stuttering around the screen. Even if the mouse is completely stationary, on screen it will be stuttering around. So, because of the laser issue I give this 3/5, because it really is a shame considering how much I paid for it.
