5 out of 5 eggsGREAT recorder for the money

Pros: This is a great little video recorder for the price. You can find it for from $89-129. Amzn has it for over $300 due to high demand for this thing. Dont read the negative comments. Those people are either using wrong speed memory cards or not updating the firmware or not knowing how to use the camera. They are expecting $2000 picture quality from a $100 camera. Come on negative people, go out and get a college education, become a professional, then go out and buy a $2000 camera so u can get that quality your expecting.

Cons: yes, i do agree that is does lose quality in low light, like any camcorder. but for the price, its great. You do have to have a steady hand to use this bcuz it does record the shakiness from moving around even with the image stabilization on.

Other Thoughts: Again, the quality for the price is excellent. A newer version called the Kodak Dual Zi12 has 1080p @60fps and slow motion at 120-240fps, at the cost of only $199. Release date March 31, 2012. I will be buying that camera when it does come out.

4 out of 5 eggsone minor beef

Pros: Haven't used very much yet, not too easy for me yet(read on...) but,

Works fine, GREAT features - needn't repeat nice things others have said, but can confirm them. These things keep improving & I have a bad habit. I keep getting BETTER little vid cams when they show up on special & have to target relatives to pass on the older ones, lol.

Cons: The gosh dang little red button has DISAPPEARED after 1 day!!! I can see that it 'snaps' on and apparently it also snaps off rather easily, so be careful. After looking in ALL my camera cases 10 times & crawling around on the floor for a couple hours, guess I'll have to go crawling to Kodak... Kodak, are you reading this?

Also the access doors are the tiniest bit clumsy, afraid I'll snap the thin tether.

Other Thoughts: With lost button, glad I got the optional remote, although pretty awkward to use on the fly to take vid/pics. But using that tiny stub with NO RED BUTTON is REALLY awkward!

1 out of 5 eggsNo better than a childs toy

Pros: Small enough to fit in your pocket?

Cons: Build quality and durability.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand all the positive reviews for this thing. I bought this elsewhere and returned it too. The camera would stay on about a minute and then shut off by itself, even when battery was fully charged. The camera felt like a childs toy and the flip out USB connector didn't feel durable at all. Do not buy!

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy So Far.

Pros: Price, Size, Expandable Memory, Mic Jack

Cons: Very light for its size. (Maybe a pro for some, but it made me wish the wrist tether was adjustable just in case.)

Other Thoughts: Bought from Newegg in preparation for my daughter's birth. I wanted something small enough to fit in a diaper bag or a breast pocket. Some new parents I know went out and got DSLRs. They take great photos, but when their little ones start walking or doing something cute, the mad dash to unpack the camera from the gear bag (which is the size of 5 qt cooler) is a bit much.

If you're like me and wanted a little HD capable video camera to share videos on the internet, you'll probably whittle down possible buys to this one and the Flip. I liked the ZI8 for the expandable memory. The 720p @ 60FPS mode is awesome but I had to pick up a faster SDHC card. ($25 16GB class 10 SDHC here on newegg.)

Love it so far. I'm able to store all the gear in a dollar store bag the size of textbook. Easy to just take the camera on day trips, too.

3 out of 5 eggsOK

Pros: I loved the potential for some great video

Cons: I was disappointed and had to return it. Build quality and video quality just weren't that good. Video quality was particularly so-so, and no better or wrose then my digital camera.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING Camera for the Price!

Pros: Higher zoom that the major competitors at a cheaper cost. Videos are great, especially in well lit situations. Add in the 5MP camera and it's a wonderful buy. I like the built in transfer USB cable. I also like how it easily fits in the pocket!

Cons: Somewhat grainy in low light situations but heck, I didn't want to spend $1K for a super duper camera that I'd be afraid to take with me on wild excursions.

Other Thoughts: I bought this camera ahead of time in preparation of my son being born. I've taken a ton of video clips and a few pictures with no regrets or issues. Audio is good, the video is very good and it's a steal of a deal from Newegg. I'd HIGHLY recommend you getting a CLASS 6 SDHC Memory Card as I put in a lower class card on hand and found that the video freezes because the data cant be written to the card quick enough. I personlly purchased the Adata 16GB SDHC Memory Card (Class 6) from NewEgg and it was a wonderful combination. No issues so far aside from low light conditions. If you break the camera, you aren't out a whole lot of money. My coworker just bought a $1K video camera but I can record in Hi-Def and 1/10th the cost. Awesome buying experience with this camera!

1 out of 5 eggsNot good - 1 out of 2 worked

Pros: Takes great pictures and movies when working !

Cons: Purchased two identical units and one was bad right out of the box !

Other Thoughts: We purchased two of these for our two sons and when they opened them on Christmas one was faulty. The bad unit would not access the external flash memory card. Tried several different SDHC cards (class 6 speed and up) and no luck. The other camera works fine with these same cards. I'm a VERY upset dad !!!!!! Now it will take probably 10+ days for the RMA to go back and a new shipped out. Kodak needs to get their act together and QC these things!
