Two cameras for FaceTime and HD video recording, the dual-core A5 chip, the same 10-hour battery life --all in a thinner, lighter design. Now iPad is even more amazing. And even less like anything else.

  • newegg Thinner and Lighter Once you pick up iPad 2, it’ll be hard to put down. That’s the idea behind the all-new design. It’s 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter, so it feels even more comfortable in your hands. And it makes surfing the web, checking email, watching movies, and reading books so natural; you might even forget there’s incredible technology under your fingers.
  • newegg Dual-core A5 Chip Two powerful cores in one A5 chip mean iPad can do twice the work at once. You’ll notice the difference when you’re surfing the web, watching movies, making FaceTime video calls, gaming, and going from app to app to app. Multitasking is smoother, apps load faster, and everything just works better.
  • newegg Superfast Graphics With up to nine times the graphics performance, gameplay on iPad is even smoother and more realistic. And faster graphics help apps perform better — especially those with video. You’ll see it when you’re scrolling through your photo library, editing video with iMovie, and viewing animations in Keynote.
  • newegg Battery Life Keeps on Going Even with the new thinner and lighter design, iPad has the same amazing 10-hour battery life. That’s enough juice for one flight across the ocean, or one movie-watching all-nighter, or a week’s commute across town. The power-efficient A5 chip and iOS keep battery life from fading away, so you can get carried away.
  • newegg Two Cameras You’ll see two cameras on iPad — one on the front and one on the back. They may be tiny, but they’re a big deal. They’re designed for FaceTime video calling, and they work together so you can talk to your favorite people and see them smile and laugh back at you. The front camera puts you and your friend face-to-face. Switch to the back camera during your video call to share where you are, who you’re with, or what’s going on around you. When you’re not using FaceTime, let the back camera roll if you see something movie-worthy. It’s HD, so whatever you shoot is a mini-masterpiece. And you can take wacky snapshots in Photo Booth. It’s the most fun a face can have.
  • newegg iOS 4 iOS 4 is the operating system for iPad (along with iPhone and iPod touch). It lets you browse, read, and see everything just by touching the screen. It includes all the powerful, innovative, and fun built-in apps you use every day, many times a day. And it’s the platform on which more than 90,000 other amazing apps have been created for iPad. It’s highly secure, stable, and responsive, and it’s made to work seamlessly with the iPad hardware. iOS 4 is the reason no other device has yet come close to iPad.

5 out of 5 eggsjust great is all I can say

Pros: I have owned several Android tablets and devices ,examples New Xoom Family edition [not a normal Xoom]much better and improved , Nook Color with gingerbread flashed into it and a Samsung Galaxy S phone with Froyo, and Apple, as much as I wish it was not true just does it better. Android is good but Apple is just better and truly worth the money difference.

Cons: The price is a bit out of whack compared to other tablets and no expansion slot for storage, but there is the free 5 gb cloud.

Other Thoughts: Apple does it better because there are just a limited number of devices to program for unlike Android but that causes prices to be high due to lower completion. However, it works better and has less bugs. Android is good and really is very good in most cases but Apple is better.

5 out of 5 eggsLong time ipad user

Pros: All about knowing. Yes it has flash via several apps. yes flash can work near as well as it does on netbooks. yes its a great replacment for netbooks. All about picking the right apps. Far more then a novilty, Like I said about about picking the right apps. Bought this one to replace my ipad1. It is NOT a replacment to a high powered laptop, but a decent very handy replacment to a netbook. TON of wirless ways to transfer docs-movies-music-pictures etc over wifi. Making USB feature rather pointless. box.net and dropbox account I have additional 52 GB of storage. Reckon apple makes the best tablet there is.

Cons: Took newegg some time to get the ipad 2 down the MSRP. Once they did I jumped on it.

Other Thoughts: Sure makes it nice mobile long lasting battery tablet pc.

5 out of 5 eggsApple makes another home run!

Pros: Excellent design and quality. The fact that Apple controlls both the hardware and software provides an environment that leads to a better user experience.

Cons: Why is Newegg selling it for $20 above the MSRP? They claim that they are giving you $50 off instantly but this is simply not true.

Other Thoughts: I wish it had the pixel density for the display that Apple offers on their iPhone. The complaints about the lack of Adobe Flash support are basically moot at this point. Adobe no longer plans to support or develop flash for mobile devices and are supporting HTML5.

3 out of 5 eggsREALLY?! OUT OF STOCK!

Pros: I really want to get this, and have been waiting patiently for a sale to go up, and the second I got the email that they were 10% off they are all OUT OF STOCK!!! This is so frustrating. I have waited for over a month now...when will there be MORE?! Probably when they are not on sale anymore I'm sure. :(

Cons: NOT IN STOCK WHEN ON SALE!

4 out of 5 eggsVery good little gadget

Pros: - Very sleek and thin. Amazing design
- Fast and responsive
- Excellent screen
- Great apps in the store (most of the apps I have are free)
- Good games, i.e. the newer Sid Meier's Pirates (which surprised me)
- Can run multiple apps without any problem

Basically, it can be used as an even more portable (and stylish) Netbook computer: it's good for web browsing if you're near a wifi router, you can use it to watch any movies or listen to any songs you have on the device, and has a large number of games you can play (it's actually better at gaming than most netbooks, as netbooks are typically only good at playing older games due to their weak gpu's, which gets tricky w/ compatibility if you have a Windows 7 netbook like me). Of course, without any video output, there's no way to watch any videos on this device through your tv (unless you're willing to buy the adapter from Apple)... so netbooks might be better for this function if you want it, as they typically have an hdmi or vg

Cons: - There aren't any USB, SD, or any type of video ports; you can only get these by purchasing an adapter from Apple (I don't know about the USB adapter though. You can plug the iPad into a USB port w/ the cable that's supplied with the iPad for charging and connecting to your computer, but I don't think you can plug a USB device into the iPad itself)

- 16 GB these days isn't much space (which further hinders the device due to the lack of a USB port, as you can't hook it up to an External HDD)

Other Thoughts: When the iPad was announced, I didn't see the point: it looked like a giant iPhone that couldn't make calls. Of course, I've never been a huge Apple fan anyway, so I didn't really plan on ever buying one. Now, however, I was looking for a portable device I could bring to college without much hassle. My 15.6" laptop is a bit too big, and my 11" netbook is nice, but still seems like a hassle just to carry with me to class. So I decided to look at tablets. Though there are some good Android tablets out there (and I'm used to the droid interface as I own an HTC smart phone) most seemed kind of bulky and had very mixed reviews. After finding a recertified iPad 2 here on Newegg for a similar price to tbetter Android tablets, I figured "Why not get the iPad?". So far, I'm very satisfied w/ this device. While it can't replace a computer/laptop, it's very good for people on the go. I just wish I got the 34 GB model instead of the 16 GB so I could take more movies and games with me.

4 out of 5 eggsLets face it... Its a novelty at this point.

Pros: Great picture and sensitive touch screen.
Jail Break now available.
Good sturdy quality design.

Cons: Lets just say I have had the iPad 2 for a couple of months now and I am writing this review on my laptop.
Its just a oversize iPod.
No flash.
