1 out of 5 eggsVery Disappointed...20.1mp version

This review is from: Nikon COOLPIX S3500 26361 Silver > 16.0 MP 7X Optical Zoom 26mm Wide Angle Digital Camera

Pros: Size, weight and ease of use in a grab and shoot situation.......The version I own is the 20.1mp model not the 16.0 as offered here.

Cons: Besides many of the features being somewhat confusing as to what they actually do, the real con is that this camera takes absolutely terrible photographs.

I also own a Fujifilm Finepix 2800z 2.0mp camera and at 2mp compared to the 20.1mp of the Nikon the photographs are vastly more detailed. When I say detailed I mean if I photograph the same subject at the same range and light, the fine details when I zoom into the jpg are evident on the 2.0mp camera, yet on the 16.0mp they are blured, almost smudged granting me zero fine detail...Literaly as though you de-rezzed the photo down to 0.1mp. That can also be seen when zoomed out.

No setting changes it be it resolution, or any of the other settings or features.

Other Thoughts: Quite bluntly this camera has wasted shots I'll never be able to recapture. A low quality cellphone camera takes better photos quite frankly and has an excuse for them being such.

The size by no means makes up for the quality. Frankly I will never use this camera again, it was a waste of money and I'm extremely disappointed that such a product would be offered in this day and age.
