3 out of 5 eggsCables are too short

Pros: Most of the ports are useful. Clean design.

Cons: It would be nice to have another USB3 port.

Suppled cables are WAY too short. I have a full tower so I wanted to put the mult-function front panel near the top of the case, but the audio and USB2 cables are so short they can not reach the connectors on the motherboard...even from the lowest drive bay (its a PC Power Cooling Chrome Tower - the 5.25" bays go most of the way to the bottom). Part of this is the fault of the motherboard design (Asus M5A97 R2.0) where all of the USB2 and audio connectors are on the (in this case) the bottom edge of the motherboard.

4 out of 5 eggsGood deal in a combo front Panel device

Pros: Cables are long enough to reach all M/B sockets and are of good quality. All needed hardware was included .

Cons: SD cards need to be inserted upside down, i.e. label side toward the floor in a tower case. Not really a "con" just an oddityl

For some reason, the USB 2 ports don't provide any power to charge an attached device.

1 out of 5 eggsiPad/Smart phone Charging usb doesn't work

Pros: Two USB ports work

Cons: The iPad/iPhone charging usb port does not charge iPad, does not work for any other usb devices; Card reader does not work. When I plug in my wireless mouse to a usb port Windows 7 thinks it's some kind of storage.

Other Thoughts: The only thing working seems to be the 2 usb ports, and I need more usb ports, especially one that charges my iPad. What should I do?

5 out of 5 eggsWorks like a charm

Pros: - Easy to install
- Works as intended
- Nice charging port

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I purchased this to replace the defective front panel audio on the Antec 900 and this has worked out better than I expected. I'm connecting it to a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H.

4 out of 5 eggsnice front usb.3 and cf

Pros: fits very nice and snag in my case. i have a full size atx case. it did take a little work to get the item in. it had to be worked back in forth with a slight pressure in the side of the card .but once in it fits flash .every thing work great with a fast transfer rate .

Cons: the usb 3.o cable is nice looking but i found out it did not fit very well kind of loss in the usb3.0 hook up in the card reader . after trying it on a usb rear card with a 19 pin header on it fit loss . with a new mother board that has a 19 pin header on it that one was loss to. it dose not want to stay locked in place.the one end i was using on the mb header and the rear card 19 pin heard bent the same pin on both headers. all i can think the cable being loss in the header may have had some thing to do with the bent pin. i was able to get the one pin up and get it to work .

Other Thoughts: i do like the card reader . it runs fast for my cf . some of my raw file pic will transfer faster then i can follow it . but i do have a new mb that runs usb 3.0 the front audio port has good sound on it . if you can find a different 19 pin cable get one . i need one that is 6 to 8 inch longer any just to run the cable the way i want to .

5 out of 5 eggsUNITEK 5.25"USB 3.0 Multi Function Front Panel

Pros: Easy installation. Looks/fits good in the 5 1/4" bay. Ports are well spaced. Layout is ideal if you don't like all your front panel ports scrunched together.

Ports seem to function well. Have tried all the ports except the eSATA (didn't have a device for this), and they all function as they should. Charging port is a plus, as you can charge almost any applicable device as you work on the computer.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Don't know why other reviewers are knocking the USB 3 connection aspect of this component. A little research would have made them aware that a 19 pin header was needed for this (either on-board or plug-in card). This is one reason why I purchased it.

Longevity is always an issue with these components. I haven't had it long enough to comment on this.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Customer Support

Pros: USB 2.0 ports work perfectly. The "iPod" USB port is a non-data +5 volt port for just recharging your devices with out a data connection. This can interrupt whatever your PC might be doing when you plug it in, so this avoids the plug-n-play alerts, and just charges your device..

Cons: Requires an internal 19pin header either from your motherboard or a USB 3.0 add-in card. Otherwise the SD Card reader, nor the USB 3.0 port will function.

Other Thoughts: UNITEK will go out of their way to satisfy their customers. Don't be afraid to contact them for tech support.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat price &great item

Pros: great price. great item.front usb3.front mic and headset.front usb2,and a good fitting front cf memory card reader.the item dose have a good tight fit in a 5.25 spot in a case .every thing works good. very easy to install .all the item have there own hook up to the mother board.

Cons: just to let every one know that is looking at this item for the memory card reader . you MOST AND I MEAN MOST have a 19 pin header on your mother board or on a usb 3 card.the memory card reader will not work unless you have a 19 pin header .the only reason for a con for this is it is not clear when you read the item description on the web page. it makes it sound like the usb3 need the 19 pin header. but the card reader run off of it too.

Other Thoughts: if you do not have a 19 pin header and you want the ubs 3 or the card reader then order a usb 3 card at the same time . i had to order a usb card after i got this item. the one i got was orico. it was cheap and fit good. very essay to install . but not fully plug and play.

ok now for the one bad part of this hole order. i used the free shipping it sucks . just so you all know if you west of Texas and east of ca . it will go from to ca to Texas and them back to you. on my shipment i live about 680 mile from the shipping location in ca. the item when to Texas for a total mileage of 1400 and change. and them the item came back to me for 720 miles or close to it. and yet some how it is a cheaper and better shipping . i say not i will pay the 3 to 5 shipping .other then that the item is great
