Saitek Pro Flight Combat Series X52 H.O.T.A.S. System for PC and Mac
Precise Combat Flight Sim Action

Smooth and Accurate Combat Flight Simulator Action

The X52 helps make you the ace in your squadron with its full arsenal of buttons, switches, and multiple control axes. Saitek's X52 defines precise flight simulator operation, employing a multifunction LCD for easy access to an astounding 282 programmable commands. Coordinate your flight plan with clock and stopwatch function, plus an adjustable handle to accommodate a wide range of hand sizes.

Precision Dual-Spring Centering Mechanism

A highly accurate centering mechanism ensures the joystick will easily return to the neutral position whenever you need it to. Non-contact technology on the X and Y axes, along with constant spring force, enhance control while increasing durability.

Advanced Grip Adjustment System

Advanced Grip Adjustment System

A five-position handle adjustment system conforms to your grip style. And to promote maximum comfort during long flights, the joystick's handle also features contours which harmonize with your digits.

3D Twist with Rudder Lock

3D Twist with Rudder Lock

The joystick's twist rudder controls add another dimension of command to simulated flight. If you prefer more traditional control, a rudder lock switch disables the twist capabilities and confines input to the X and Y axes—ideal for use with Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals (sold separately).

Progressive Throttle with Resistance Adjustment

Progressive Throttle with Resistance Adjustment

Boasting detents for afterburner and idle, the throttle unit's progressive functionality improves aircraft response. Yet another customizable feature found on the X52, a tension adjustment dial lets you choose the throttle's resistance to suit the way you fly.

Multifunction LCD Display

Multifunction LCD Display

The X52's LCD screen—with adjustable backlighting—enables you to view information about your button configurations with only a quick glance. Even more beneficial is the ability to directly manipulate radio stack information in FSX, X-Plane, Prepar3D, and most flight simulation software. You can then use the buttons residing below the screen to cycle through essential radio stack functions.

Powerful Programming Software

Powerful Programming Software (PC Only)

After installing downloadable software, you are then free to create custom profiles for different flight sim software. Three mode settings and a pinkie switch provide enhanced programming options for even more control options in your favorite sim.

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: A robust control system. Everything you need to optimize your enjoyment of flight simulators. Saitek's software includes profiles for many popular games, with the ability to tweak as needed.

Cons: Quality is good, though the control system is lighter than I expected. Includes suction cups for keeping the base/s in place on your desk. These aren't ideal if you plan to add and remove the control system from your desk or work space as needed.

Other Thoughts: Improved my experience and enjoyment of Elite: Dangerous tenfold over the mouse and keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsVery comfortable!

Pros: I think the lighting and control surfaces are fantastic. Both the stick and throttle are very durable and the twist rudder replaces the pedals for me. I feel like I am using manual transmission instead of automatic, put it that way.

Cons: While the stick and throttle are amazing, the only thing I would have loved to see is an easier way to program this outside of the simulatior with the driver and software. Also, be sure to use the latest drivers online! (people who use 5 year old cd roms that come in thr box are stupid).

Other Thoughts: Love how it replicates the Airbus joystick nicely.

2 out of 5 eggsDecent Joystick

Pros: Heavy feeling
good resistance
buttons don't feel cheap
(should be programmable - see cons)
Adjustable LED brightness

Cons: The software that was supposed to come with this doesn't work
driver installation is wonky at best
unplugging causes mouse interrupt afterwards
at the top end and bottom end of the throttle, there is suddenly extra resistance, at first thought it was a cool concept, but when micro managing my throttle in elite dangerous, it ended up throwing me past my way points a few times.

Other Thoughts: First of all, the joy stick and throttle feel amazing in hand, I really feel like I have control with these, I didn't have to attach the suction cups to get it to stay on my desk and being able to adjust the LEDs at night is actually quite fun, unfortunately this is where the joy ride ended for me.

When I first received my throttle, I plugged it into my computer and turned it on, my PC is running Win 10 and immediately there was issues, it wasn't long after some short digging through a few forums that I discovered that everyone is correct, the driver that comes with it is obsolete and breaks things... causes glitches... I even managed to BSOD once after unplugging it. So I attempted to uninstall it... couldn't find it using Ccleaner and couldn't find it using windows default uninstaller... not even revo could find the thing?! at this point, i actually formatted my computer (why? cause I ran out of options as far as the forums I visited were concerned) I installed the driver from the disc, then plugged it in, then got the driver from the website. So now they work as basic Human Input Devices... the software still refuses to run even when requested to run as win 7 sp1 with admin privileges... I was alright with this, sad that I couldn't use the thumb mouse on the throttle, but I got over it... tiillllll yesterday when I discovered that the turn dials on the throttle were not centered properly from the factory, I opened window's joy.cpl and discovered that where the dials "click" top dead center was offset by quite a bit, 3.5 degrees actually. I tried finding any way to calibrate it back and there are no options for this... maybe in the software I was unable to run?

Last but not least, the throttle does NOT have a TDC click at the halfway up point, I thought for sure it would? but no, if you have it set up that from 50 to 100 = forward and from 49 to 0 = backward, youll have to monitor where the stick is constantly as there's no physical "click" or "bump" to let you know where the throttle stands at no impulse.

This joystick/throttle is a blast to fly with... but setup was annoying and I feel like I'm missing a lot of features here. I'm also not looking forward to trying to contact Saitek as a lot of people say it's a tasking chore to do so.

(One of the things I'm missing out on without the software is the "modes" rotater switch on the joystick as well)

My recommendation is avoid this setup until they sit down with development and turn out a software update this thing apparently needs to operate... if you're willing to wait that long.

1 out of 5 eggsDevice will not work with windows 10

Pros: Looks are great but that's all I can review for pros as the device is not able to work on Windows 10 without a driver update which isn't availible

Cons: Well It doesn't work at all. I have windows 10 and there are no drivers available for windows 10. The company is non responsive when questioned when if ever a driver will be made available. Despite having more than a year of development access Saitek aka Madkats has decided that the customer doesn't matter and has declined to provide a driver update for any of their devices.

Other Thoughts: Useless hunks of plastic that don't work at all due to a company that just doesn't care.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat if it's properly supported by your game

Pros: A step up from the regular joystick. Oh so many customizable buttons and possibilities.

Cons: Takes a lot of getting used to.
Games need to support the joystick for enjoyable experience

Other Thoughts: I bought this for Star Citizen, and as it is still in alpha, there is little I ought to say about its performance. I am positive that support will be well-polished by the time the game is finally released in 2020. :P

If there's anything that bugs me is setting up proper sensitivity curves. It is very difficult to take precise aim - I consistently under- or overshoot. The most minuscule movement of the joystick makes for overly large movements, and keeping aim centred is extremely tiring on the wrist.

Again, this is no doubt a software issue, and which some tweaking and some support on the game side, it will get much better.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Joystick, after you get the drivers

Pros: Good looking unit. Blue LED's and the silver body are a sharp combo.

Throttle has a good feel and "Clicks" in for full fore or aft speeds.

Twist Yaw on the joystick makes tight maneuvers a breeze.

Main trigger has two clicks to it. The second is actuated by clicking all the way in.

Cons: Stock software is almost unusable on win 8.1.

Before you even mess with configuring in the game, go to the Siatek site and get the most up to date drivers. NOT EVEN KIDDING, DONT USE WITH OUT THE NEW DRIVERS!!!!!

Other Thoughts: Nice stick for the money, lots of features.

Bought this for Elite Dangerous, and after getting the latest drivers and useing the stock X52 setup in game (with a few tweaks) this thing is working great.

1 out of 5 eggsBought and doesn't work.

Pros: stick seems to be good and thruster is nice as well- in the sense of quality, now if I could only buy one that worked. out of the box the thing did not work. I was confident buying from, the high review so I figured why not. joystick doesn't work at all so now I need to go through the whole process of getting a new one what a joke..

Cons: its a gamble of whether you get a working one or not.

Other Thoughts: I would suggest a different manufacturer, catz has always been know for a good get you buy controller or etc... but the quality of the service is terrible.

3 out of 5 eggsNice layout & design, but QC issues

Pros: Great layout, design and ergonomics. I really liked the funcionality of the throttle.

Cons: QC, QC & QC...The controller I ended up with had the top left stick button sticking depending on how it was pressed. Also the LCD seemed to not display correctly. The plastic casing did not line up correctly. Seemed to be cheaply made.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat stick with some minor flaws

Pros: is made from mostly plastic but still feels very sturdy
has alot of buttons and everything works as expected

Cons: Would rather have rudder buttons then the twist rudder but that's probably just me

suction cups are not enough to keep both pieces stable. I had to put some mousepad-like material on the bottom to keep them stable. the suction cups included keep them from lifting up but they still slide around alot.

Other Thoughts: Overall i'm pleased with this HOTAS, for the money it's everthing I was asking for. Seeing the stick you're using while playing Elite: Dangerous is very cool.
