5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Power

Pros: This woofer has power. Lots of it, to be a little more precise. I'm running it in conjunction with two Polk Audio Monitor 70 Series II towers on a Sony STR-DE335 at 100 watts a channel. The system bumped before I got the subwoofer, but wow, I was blown away at the depth and power this sub possesses. The range of lows this woofer can hit are incredible. It goes lower (and maintains power) than any other subwoofer in this price range. I usually run the volume knob on 5 (it's a 1-10 range) and it has more than enough power. Often times I find myself turning it lower solely due to how much power is behind the sound.

The best type of audio this would be suited for is Hip-Hop, Electronic, and Theater Style Sounds.

Cons: The woofer, for all it's power, has the tendency to be a little boomy when playing rock music. Then again, it is a twelve inch sub, not a punchy 8 inch.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this subwoofer is far and away the best value for this price range. It easily outperforms any Polk subwoofer that costs similarly, and produces much more power and "subwoofer" type sound than it's competitor's counterparts. I am an audiophile, I do not like bad sound equipment, and this sub does the perfect job for its price point.

I have owned this product for 6 months, and there is not a day that goes by where I don't appreciate the beautiful music this machine makes.

If you're on the fence, this subwoofer is the one to buy. You won't be disappointed.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Sub For The Money

Pros: I've had one of these for about a year and a half and its great with no problems. The bass is fairly tight down to its lower limit and I have it set at about 4.5 on a dial that goes up to 10. Set up my crossover at 80 and its been going fine since. The speaker was very tight when I first got it and took a while to break in but that's often to be expected from a new speaker.

The amp is based on a BASH design and it rated at 150 watts continuous which is more than enough to make things rock. Unless you want to shake your neighbor's house down the road this has enough power for most anyone.

For 200 bucks it represents a great combination of price and performance. If you want a sub that sounds like a thousand bucks then go out and spend it, but I am satisfied that this was a good purchase especially with free shipping as its big and heavy.

Cons: None, is a great performer for the money

Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a large sub capable of producing some good low bass without breaking the bank then this one fits the bill very well. No problems with it and still enjoying this. Performs better than what you might expect for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsValue Sub

Pros: For the price, you don't find too many subs that can hit the lows this sub can. The connection options are also plentiful thus no compatibility issues with older AVRs. Easily meshes with newer AVRs that control crossover levels, too, through it's digital 5.1/7.1 or Pro Logic switch. So takes the guessing out of it--but leaves it available for audiophiles who want to do everything manually.

The bottom line, for this price, it beats the socks off the competition. Forget the Polk subs or the 8" varieties (unless you really want to pay for a high-end 8" sub). In this price range, it's the best thing going. After owning one, I bought a second to complete my 7.2 setup.

Cons: The only con I can think of is the size--but that's not an issue for me. I wanted a 12" sub. With that said, 150W RMS for a 12" sub is a bit light. But MORE than sufficient. Don't worry about the wattage too much. It's not even clear how comparable or reliable the measurements provided by manufacturers actually are. All I know is that this sub brings plenty of bass--and I only have it at 40%. But it is a big speaker. and cabinet. So if space is an issue, I can see it being a con.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat sub!

Pros: Pretty much everything! Perfect for movies, games, and most music, especially for the price. I only have the bass set to 4 out of 10, and that is more than enough!

Cons: The bass could be tighter for certain types of music, but it is still good enough for me and probably most others.

Other Thoughts: I haven't been able to compare this to many other 12inch subs (local stores have 10 inch), but it definitely puts the 10inch subs to shame. My research shows that this sub is better than competitors in this price range (Polk 505), but it likely won't match up to some like a Hsu Research.

If you can get this for ~$200, stop reading and buy it!

5 out of 5 eggsWow - Thunderous Bass

Pros: The best money you'll ever spend on a mid - high end home audio system. I've compared to nearly every brand and these are at the top of the list and are my primary subwoofers.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful bass

Pros: Hands down the most powerful 12" sub you can buy for under $200. I had a Polk PSW10 and that worked great for the small room it was in. When I moved to a much larger living room the Polk couldn't keep up. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing the F12 and this speaker is exactly what people are saying.

Cons: They only drawback I can find is a lack of tightness for music playback (and really only rock/jazz; electronic/rap sounds great). And I think that is being a little picky. If you're buying this because you want the room to shake, you've made a good choice.

Other Thoughts: go ahead.. buy it
