5 out of 5 eggsGood stuff

Pros: I'm running 4 POE IP Cameras from this switch with no issues. Solid build, informative lights and simple to use. You can mount this switch on a wall using the included screws.

I've been using Netgear hardware for many years and have never had a failure.

Cons: Nothing comes to mind.

Other Thoughts: It's 10/100, not really a con but these days you'd expect gb performance.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Switch came up easily and 3 of the 4 POE ports work well with my POE cameras. It has been stable for over a week now so it looks like a good solution.

Cons: One of the POE ports was Dead on Arrival and took a while to debug. Ultimately I discovered that all of the connector pins were bent down with slight corrosion. Luckily I am only using 3 ports or this would have been a real issue. I hate sending things back and being without the unit while another one comes back.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable period

Pros: Great for deploying WAP's that support 802.3af PoE, up to 4 PoE IP cameras. Perfect for Small to Medium Biz and home networks. I've installed several of these for just that purpose and have had no problems or defects.

Cons: Absolutely none, not one.

Other Thoughts: none

1 out of 5 eggsBogus Rebate!! Failed Switch

Pros: Looks nice and sturdy.

Cons: Isn't built like they used to. Had to RMA one of this. Both of my rebates were denied!!! says "HOUSEHOLD LIMIT EXCEEDED" Good way to lure in customers Netgear.. you can have my $10.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello,

I apologize for the issue with the return and the MIR. I hope the new unit is working to your satisfaction. In regards, to the MIR please email us your name and address to newegg@netgear.com and we can get that portion worked out.

Thank you,

1 out of 5 eggsWay too expensive and no Gig speed

Pros: I am sure that this switch works to specifications.

Cons: I purchased an ASUS 8 port copper Gig switch from Newegg for $31. One third the price and Gig speed. This switch is antiquated and much too expensive.

4 out of 5 eggsNothing bad to say

Pros: Simple setup... no major/minor issues.

Cons: Nothing to speak of.

Other Thoughts: I used this in a very simple setup. Easy to use and shouldn't be an issue for even the less technical.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PoE Switch!

Pros: Great easy to use switch. PoE works great - just plug and play operation.

Cons: Mail in rebate seems like a scam. Research it first, I've had zero luck thus far and have spent more time trying to get it than $20 is worth.

Other Thoughts: I recommend the switch at this price.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap POE Switch

Pros: These are cheap POE switches that are great for extending our IP phone system to parts of the building that did not have POE switches.

Cons: We have had one of the two units we purchased lose port (i.e. dead) in less than 4 months. The unit has not yet been warranteed.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Small and inexpensive solution if you just need a few quick PoE ports. Metal case is nice.

Cons: Watch that power budget.

Other Thoughts: Powering two Netgear WG302s with no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsMost economical PoE switch available

Pros: Great price for PoE switch, very reliable, lifetime warranty.

Cons: Somewhat limited PoE power budget (check power requirements of connected devices and plan carefully!)

Other Thoughts: I have six of these in active service, and have yet to have any problems with them. I use them with Netgear PoE access points (WG102 and WG302) and various IP phones, in some cases using all four PoE ports at once, and I have never seen the PoE Max LED's lit. Still, some devices are more power hungry and may exceed this switch's capacity.
