4 out of 5 eggsAmazing

This review is from: ONKYO TX-NR3010 9.2-Channel Receiver

Pros: Amazing video processor. My Oppo BDP93 also has the Qdeo but the Onkyo dramatically improves the picture quality.

XT32 makes a significant improvement in sound over the older plain-jane MultEQ. My 8 year old Jamo's have found new life with this receiver.

Running in 7.1 config with front-high speakers. The Onkyo has replaced my problematic Denon AVR-3312ci. The Onkyo blows the Denon out of the water on everything but aesthetics. I still love the look of the Denon.

This is a true 9.2 receiver (unlike my prior Denon) in that each subwoofer is calibrated independently. Denon claimed 7.2 but they treated both subs as 1 in the calibration process (even though it had two sub out's).

Cons: You can not reassign the output channels. I planned to run 9.2 config with F, C, Sur, FH with the 8th & 9th channels to bi-amp the F speakers. Onkyo has designated the Front High channel as the bi-amp channel for the Fronts. So I have two channels that become worthless to my particular (and common) configuration. I would need Front Wide speakers to run it 9.2 with bi-amped Fronts. The shape of my room makes that impossible.

Unable to dim the lights in the font display panel completely. They get **darker** but why not offer the ability to black it out?

No back-light on the remote. Why can't an OEM design a back-lit remote that lights up as soon as you touch it?

Other Thoughts: Would give 5 stars if they allowed the ability to reassign the speaker output channels.

5 out of 5 eggsTX-NR3010

This review is from: ONKYO TX-NR3010 9.2-Channel Receiver

Pros: easy setup, plenty of hook-ups, top of the line audessy with sub eq, on-screen display is great, video quality is absolutely amazing, input switching is quick, plenty of power.

Cons: Runs a little warm, make sure well ventilated. Does not pass thru 4k.

Other Thoughts: Saw this on sale for 1589 and bought it instantly. It is purchased for our theater room and replacing an older Onkyo TX-SR805. The sound quality is just amazing and the audessy is fantastic. It is being used with a full Klipsch system that consist of rf82s, rf62s, rc52, rc62, four rw12ds, outdoors for front highs, and a diy jl13w3 for a 7.2 front high setup. This receiver has no problem playing movies at reference for hours on end {well if we can handle it that loud}. The sub eq is great for anyone running multiple subs. I have four in front and one in back and being able to set level for them separate is a great feature. The video processor is top notch and we noticed immediately it was an upgrade. On our Epson 6020 the colors are more crisp and vibrant. Anyone looking for a high end receiver look for this on sale and you will not be disappointed.
