5 out of 5 eggsWorks GREAT

Pros: It sits where i put it and don't move in a H2, Town and Country and my Mustang GT

Cons: none that I can find

Other Thoughts: I have had this now since 2009 and haven't had one issue with it. Was reading some of these other reviews and thought wow is this the same item I own? well it is, not sure why others are having issues with it but mine works great!!

2 out of 5 eggsSlides around too easily.

Pros: Suction to the center is decent.

Cons: Slips and slides too easily, even after cleaning dash and mount to remove dust.

Other Thoughts: I thought the rather unsightly and bulky design was a worthy sacrifice to ensure that it was heavy enough to stay put on the dash. If you drive like an 80 year old half-blind woman coming home from church on Sunday, it will probably stay put for you. But for the average driver, it's risky. I think a drive would have to be pretty extreme to warrant any worry of the mount sliding off and hitting him/her or passengers.

This might work better on some cars' dashes than others. In my car, it was just effective enough that I was willing to keep using it. But there were the "oh @#$%" moments where it looked like my GPS was about to be headed out the window.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well in all my vehicles

Pros: Works well in all of my vehicles (2008 Chevrolet HHR, 2004 Impala, 2002 S-10). Sticks just fine to all of the dashes, even the sloped dash on the HHR.

I bought this mainly because my TomTom suction cup would not stay attached to the windshield. It would fall off within 3-5 minutes of being attached.

With the TomTom attached to this, the suction cup does not stay attached much longer, but when it does lose suction, it only falls a few millimeters and lands on the soft pad.

After trying many things, I have added a tiny amount of Vaseline (petrolatum) to the base. That seals up the suction cup of the TomTom and keeps it rock solid for hours.

Cons: Not really a con of the base, but it did not completely fix my loss of suction problem.

Other Thoughts: If your suction cup fails to stick to any surface, try Vaseline.

2 out of 5 eggsShould be named: Universal "Slide and Glide" Dash Mount

Pros: The mount will hold most/any windshield mount device. Heavy, large base with lots of surface area. Looks decent.

Cons: Does not "stick" to dashboard of my two vehicles. Not confident it will work much better in others.

Other Thoughts: The underside of the weighted base has a rubberized, somewhat sticky surface. The dashes on my Town and Country and Altima are rather sloped. The mount will not stay in one place during most turns. I even placed the mount on a flat area of the dash and proved only to work slightly better. My guess is there would be no problem if the mount was set into a recess of the dash or against a windshield, pillar, and an opposite sloped area. I will not return the mount, but would if it was worth the hassle. My next approach is to affix some nonslip pads to the bottom. The last resort will be to add a layer of silicone caulk if the pads do not seem to perform better. I would recommend spending a few dollars more for a different brand.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't do it

Pros: $10. off

Cons: No return or free shipping on this piece of junk. It does NOT stick to the dash worth a darn. My Volvo dash is a bit slick and this china made junk didn't get a good sticky fabric on the bottom which is why I give it one egg. Buy something with a better rating than this, or I'll sell you mine.

Other Thoughts: It's not that hard to make this stuff, and yet they won't do it right. We need better products than THIS.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete junk

Pros: Maybe price, but that doesn't matter if it doesn't work.

Cons: Installed my new Garmin on it and the first time I took off it slid right off nearly breaking the GPS. This thing is CHEAP and won't stay on your dash! THAT's what it's suppose to DO! The worst part is that they won't take it back. DON'T BUY THIS, IT'S A WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!!!

Other Thoughts: Get one that works, you get what you pay for.

3 out of 5 eggsAverage at best

Pros: Small footprint, easy set-up, fairly stable

Cons: Will slide on dash during long trips on freeway

Other Thoughts: Do a lot of driving on LA freeways which aren't the smoothest. Mount tends to slowly slide off the dash after prolonged periods of freeway driving, need to keep adjusting it every 1/2 hour. Also, did slide off my dash one time under hard acceleration.

Overall OK buy given price but don't expect it that it's glued to your dash, the traction isn't that good.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good

Pros: Does stay on dash beautifully - even with dash cover. No problem with it slipping or moving. So much better than sticking holder via sucton cup on your front window, which with TomTom, falls off frequently plus it leaves a tale-tale (and nasty) ring on the wndsheld. This is MUCH MORE convenent. Due to size and dashboard shape of my car, it is hard to place it at an angle where it can be seen in the sun without glare. But 100 X better than TomTom suction holder. Now I just remove this dash mount with GPS attached and store under seat - so so so much easier. Bought online from leading vendor for $12.99 - free ship with other items totaling $25 - otherwise buy here if you can't beat price plus shipping elsewhere. Highly recommend.

Cons: Due to size of holder and dashboard shape of my car, it is hard to place it at an angle where it can be seen in the sun without glare.

Other Thoughts: Buy it - you won't regret it. It's sooooo much better than other mountings.

5 out of 5 eggsNavgear 14021 Universal Dash Mount

Pros: Built good with the quality I've come to expect from China (haa haaa), just don't lick the paint!! Buy American, that's why I buy all my stuff from the American Co.'s now based in China!
Excellent Dash Mount! Holds our TomTom Go720 on the dash of our 09 HHR with ease, doesn't slip or slide - unless you brake too hard or turn too fast.
Built really good, with good stitching, strong material, secure suction base.
This will replace the round donut universal Dash Mount that we have because with the larger screened GPS's like the TomTom Go720, you cannot adjust the angle of the GPS screen down low enough. Because of the outer donut ring, and the power cable attaches underneath the unit, so this triangular Navgear works great.
06/29/09 pd $14.99 on sale thru Newegg + $7.50 s/h.
Then my son said they have them at Big Lots stores for $10. (don't know if its' the same one or not) This one is built really good and worth $19.99 at the most, but $24.95 is a little steep I think.

Cons: Only one, not made in the USA.
