4 out of 5 eggsGood tablet

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: - snappy
- bright screen
- S-Pen - I'm using this tablet with Papyrus for note-taking/homework, and thanks to this tablet I hardly use paper for that purpose anymore.

Cons: - Home button annoys me (a button that has to be depressed)
- Glossy screen (would strongly prefer anti-glare)
- 2A charger is insufficient -it takes FOREVER to charge. I can leave it go overnight and it still won't have a full charge by morning.

Other Thoughts: This is a good tablet. It could be better, especially considering the cost. If I didn't need the S-Pen I probably would have gone with something else.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Tablet

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: Works great. I haven't purchased another tablet in years after hating my old apple. The Note 10.1 changed my opinion on tablets.

Cons: Freezes at times, but only a minor frustration

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for a month

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: When it worked excellent speed. Comes with good productivity apps.

Cons: Stoped working after a month and a half. Refuses to turn on. I am overseas and trying to deal with Samsung is not easy. E-mailed New Egg 4 days ago and still waiting for a reply.

3 out of 5 eggsVery touchy

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: Sound is great,Picture on screen is the best I have ever seen.Battery running videos and surfing the net last me about 9 hours.I was stoked about all the perks until I read the fine print all of them want a credit card free just isnt free anymore.

Cons: I was loving it pretty much but wish they put the speakers facing the front and I read the little book about the tablet and it said to dont even take it outside at all, well I found out why because my inside of the house was being remodeled and some old carpet was put in my garage I was heading in when my foot got caught on it and I was going down when my wifes christmas present to me slipped out of my hand and slide a few feet on the floor cracked the screen in two places and now I can hear the sound and see the screen apps only with a bright flash light.I dont know what else to say except try and find a case to put it in,you"ve been warned. The 3 eggs is for $600.0 tablet I would expect the build on it would be good enough to at least take outside.

Other Thoughts: Dont have a clue what it will cost to fix it but I guess almost everything coming from Asia is being put together just well enough to keep it from breaking until we stupidly buy it.lol

2 out of 5 eggsinconvenience design

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: 1. better graphic
2. 720p no longer lag with sub
3. wifi connection faster than last version

Cons: 1. bad design home button, menu and return button at the middle edge.
2. matte aluminum edge look and feel better than glossy edge
3. lag on 10bit video (software decode)/ 1080p with sub (hardware doesn't support 10bit decoder)

Other Thoughts: I upgraded from galaxy note 10.1.
Currently i feel very uncomfortable to use this interface.
I like the old version 10.1 UI is the best interface for android tablet.
Now, it is hard to use Notification panel.
And it is hard to switch/swap between apps with the NEW home button.
EASY mistake to open S voice
EASY mistake to close/return your app by touch return key when use vertical view.

Let me conclude, it improved graphic and speed. Drawback, give the user lot of trouble on UI. Inconvenience button design enough to destory user experience.

5 out of 5 eggsBest tablet on the Market

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: Super-fast performance because of 3GB of system memory and fast 64-bit Samsung Eynos quad core processor. Brilliant retinal screen display outdoes the Ipad 4.

Cons: If you have depleted the battery, it can take 6 to 7 hours to fully recharge.
The icluded office application can not communicate wit my networked Lexmark color laser printer, which is wired to my router. Hopefully I can resolve this issue.

5 out of 5 eggsReally digging it so far

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: Totally much better than an Ipad. Much faster, Camera much better, I like the back button and home button on the side vs the bottom like my ipad 2. Whole family grabs the galaxy first over the IPAD2

Cons: Can't find a keyboard folio case that is made for it yet. I tried the one Newegg sells that says it will work, and well to be fair it does work, You just can't use any of the buttons or get the stylus out .

5 out of 5 eggsI may go back to Android

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: Fast, smooth operation
S Pen
Great sound
Customizability
Screen resolution
Octa-core processor

Cons: Slight learning curve
Some apps are second rate (Android in general)
Battery life is so-so (still good, but not great).
No micro-HDMI (this would be a big plus for me).

Other Thoughts: I've always loved customizability. So Android seemed like a logical choice over iOS. But I got frustrated with limited capability. So I broke down and bought an iPad, and I must confess, I love it!

Then I read about the 2014 Galaxy Note 10.1. I couldn't resist buying it. The screen resolution is every bit as good as my iPad. Performance is second-to-none. I keep reading about lag, but I haven't noticed any more of it than with my iPad (I get that on both).

The mail program is more flexible -- it even set up my work email without having to remember domain names, etc., and that was much more involved on my iPad.

The aspect ratio is great for movies. Using it is fun. There are also some good productivity apps.

Now, I make my living in music, and must confess, the iPad has better apps for that (like Notion), but that is improving, with the advent of Ensemble Composer. And with decent sound, I, even with some hearing loss, can still hear it clearly, unlike my former Androids.

I just got it today, and have spent several hours with it. TouchWiz is OK, although I like using Nova too. Having the choice is definitely a good thing.

And widgets give Android an edge over iPad. The biggest issue I had with Android in the past was performance, but this seems to have been remedied with the hardware on this tablet.

Oh, and the smaller exterior dimensions make it easier and less awkward to use even in portrait mode (which was always awkward on my past Android tablets).

Between Samsung and Google, they really have a winner on their hands here. The hardware is great, the software is rapidly improving, and I'm just enjoying using it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Upgrade for aging Xoom Tablet

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: Ordered this tablet tor replace my aging but functional Motorola Xoom tablet. Although this is not a 'Pure" android experience, the added features that Samsung has included can be very useful. I don't know how much I will use the stylus, but it seems to work great. The screen is incredible and it is very responsive! The size and weight is perfect. The construction seems to be very sturdy and it feels good in the hand. Overall application responsiveness is very good. The IR blaster is a welcome feature.

Cons: The first unit I got had a defective MicroSDHC slot. It caused the 32GB memory card to constantly mount and remove itself. Most internet articles suggested that this was a memory card problem. I tried a Sandisk card first and then tried a Lexar card with the same result. Replaced the tablet and used the Lexar card and it worked perfectly.

Other Thoughts: When you first start the tablet, go through the initial setup and check for system updates before you go any further. There were three (3) android system updates for this device. Install all 3 updates. When you are sure that the system is up to date, do yourself a favor and do a factory reset and redo the initial configuration.

3 out of 5 eggsWait for something better or more supprt

This review is from: Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Quad Core 3GB RAM 32GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3- Black

Pros: Does everything a college student could dream of.

Cons: Not very many supported apps, bearly any accessories as available of now, huge limitations on the multi window feature.

Other Thoughts: The multi window feature is what I love about this product that makes it far better than an iPad or other Android tablets, but it also sucks. It doesn't support ANY downloaded apps.

On a hardware basis, tablets are just as good as a laptop if not better, but the software sucks. This is a problem with Sumsung; they make great hardware but the software sucks.

Because of this limitation on software, I'm better off with a Windows Surface.

I'd give this 5 stars because it does work and it works brilliantly if your needs are simple. But I would actually give it 1 star because multi-tasking between Chrome, Adobe Reader, Google Drive, and Evernote is a pain in the a-s-s. Average: 3.
