5 out of 5 eggsXmas Nano

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: It was a complete hit with my daughter. Her old Nano was beginning to fail after 6 long years of abuse. The new touch screen model was well received and she likes the 4X capacity over her old Nano. Even with her library she hasn't been able to fill it up!!!

Cons: None!

4 out of 5 eggsClose to Nano 5th generation performance

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: The addition of Bluetooth. With the growing ubiquity of affordable Bluetooth capable devices (speakers, A/V components and both built-in and accessory adapters for vehicles), the Bluetooth capability of the 7th generation nano is great in helping reduce reliance on wired connections for output through big speakers.

Cons: The Apple "lighting" connector. This proprietary form-factor replaced Apple's *previous* 30-pin proprietary form-factor connector. So those 5th generation compatible external charging devices? You won't be using them to power your newest iPod. Too bad Apple can't lower itself to consider industry standard connectors on the other end of the USB cable.

Other Thoughts: The iPod Nano 7th generation offers a mix of features and design changes that I feel make it a worthy replacement for 5th generation users...but it's not a slam-dunk total improvement.
What's better:
-The addition of Bluetooth. What's worse:
-The Apple "lighting" connector.

What's a wash: slightly smaller size comes at the expense of the familiar multifunction control wheel. The new touch screen will take some getting used to, bit is largely intuitive.

What's gone since 5th generation: video, audio capture.

The overall set of installed (and fixed...no visit to the Apple store is needed) is similar, and the sound quality is fine. If you want to add Bluetooth, a worthwhile upgrade from 5th generation; otherwise, I'd stay put...

1 out of 5 eggsRefurbished!!

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: It's an ipod - but see below.

Cons: I ordered this at a higher price than you can get it at big box retailers because I love Newegg and it's convenient and fast. However, when I got the iPod it came from a reseller called ElectroBrands (which is fine) but it's refurbished, and not refurbished by Apple. It's going back.

1 out of 5 eggsRip Off

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: Play music

Cons: Not worth, I bought a Sony 8G MP3 player with the price of $50. I thought this one is better than Sony with such a high price tag, however after compared usage, see no difference. Then why tagged such a high price? Not make sense

4 out of 5 eggsfirst apple

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: small and easy to learn.
decent sound quality.
very happy with the decibel output, plays loud enough for my older ears.
i-tunes was also easy to learn.

Cons: have to download a special i-tunes version if you running a 64bit operating system.
the 64 bit version is not offered up front, only the default version that you later find is not compatible.
it was a pain to seek out the 64 bit version.

3 out of 5 eggsNOT WORTH IT

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: (considering upgrading from SanDisk mp3 player)
-2 inch colored screen (still can see pixel)
-battery life enough for a week of moderate use and 3 day at the gym pumping the volume.
-the side hard buttons can do many extra maneuvers.

Cons: -NO APP available. considering adding $100 for a perfect Ipod Touch 5th Generation with apps, camera, larger screen, games, bigger battery, wi-fi...ect. or just drop down to a shuffle at $50.
-SIZE. yes, size does matter. the previous gen of nano is perfectly fine with 1.54 inch display and small/compact to fit in pockets/shirt (with clip). OR go to Touch and get a cellphone size with tons of apps and a camera. THIS NANO IS JUST RIGHT IN BETWEEN!

Other Thoughts: it is nice to have a cheap touch screen mp3 player BUT the price, size, functionality is JUST IN BETWEEN. no cheap, not expensive. not big, not small. not fun, not boring. JUST A PAIN IN THE NECK.

4 out of 5 eggsCool

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: 16 gig Uploaded my music and still have lots of room. Size is a pro and con. I don't care the newegg warehouse staff are the style.

Cons: Price. Size.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this on Sat. got it Monday. Which could also be a con as I found out I did not need this after all. I tried to cancel it from my order after an HOUR and I could not change the order. I was quite unhappy with that aspect. But how can you complain when they served me like a champion and got it out the door and to me in 1 business day. Sometimes you get breaks sometimes ya don't. Put it bluntly I won't be removing business from Newegg for having the fastest service imaginable.

5 out of 5 eggsLuAGh OUT LoUD

This review is from: Apple iPod Nano 16GB Slate (7th Gen)

Pros: -Shipping was good no problems
-Thing works no problems

Cons: -The USB cable, apple is notorious for doing there own thing
the end of the USB where you stick the thing into the ipod itself is some sort of bastardized version of everyone micro USB plug in...why couldnt they just kept the same format as everyone else....
