5 out of 5 eggsGood Monitor!

Pros: Pixel Count. The obvious pro to this monitor is its resolution of 2560x1440. The other obvious pro to this monitor is the price. I paid $309, or somewhere around that. Also, as other reviews have mentioned, this monitor arrives super fast. 2 Days to my house in Georgia from south Korea. I followed the UPS tracking. The monitor flew straight to Alaska, then immediately to Knoxville TN. The next day it was in Georgia on a truck and delivered to my house. Amazing fast. I still am waiting on a computer case to show up and some headphones. Those were shipped from New Egg's warehouse in Memphis TN and some other location in Maryland. The monitor from South Korea arrived before both of those items but over a day.

I purchased the "pixel perfect" version for a bit more money, and there are no dead pixels that I have found so far.

Cons: None of these are game changers. I went into this purchase knowing that all of these limitations existed for the exchange of a lower price.
No OSD, Limited Input options. Bezel is thick. Monitor stand is medium quality. Unknown quality Welltronics 24v and 0.5 Amp in-line power brick adapter. I have no idea if this power supply is "junky" or not, it just looks like one of those generic Korean power supplies... cause it probably is. The power cord it came with is for some other country's plug, I guess Korean. And then it came with a cheap "travel adapter" to convert it to the USA wall plug type. I just used another power cord I had lying around at my house.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this monitor for about 1 hour. I'm writing this review using it now. I am very happy with this monitor because I had my expectations in check before the monitor arrived. With that said, I was still nervous. I had no idea what I was about to unbox when this monitor arrived. The packaging was perfectly acceptable and I do not see any shipping damage to the cardboard. So far so good.

If you are hesitant on buying this monitor because it is a "low end" monitor, I would say go for it. If all of the things I've listed in the Cons section are acceptable to you too, then you should have no problem spending $310 instead of $500+ for the name-brand monitors. If all you care about is pixel count, as I do, oh and of course a monitor that isn't doing weird things like flickering, making high pitched noises, or smelling like smoke, then this monitor should be great for you too.

This monitor will go to one of my clients for business purposes. Reading e-mail, checking webpages, and posting content online.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic Monitor

Pros: -Vibrant colors
-Massive screen real estate

I haven't had any issues with this monitor in the year that I have owned it as far as color representation or pixels dying. I use mine for gaming, photo editing, and movies when my kids are using the television. I have an old gateway 24" that I only use for web browsing now that I have this as the colors are cartoony and appear fake next to this IPS panel.

Cons: Light bleeding.

Some may not experience this. Others that have know that it can get incredibly frustrating in a low light or black section of a game/movie/photo. Mine is confined to the dead center of the bottom of my screen, it goes up about 3 inches but isn't noticeable unless the scene is dark.

Other Thoughts: A great purchase. I haven't regretted buying this a single moment. IPS is the way to go and for just under 400$ this is the way to get there. Even name brand companies have dead pixels and dead pixel return limitations. These monitors are examined and outside of the 20% light bleed they do a great job. There are fixes for the light bleed should you get one that has this issue, just go on youtube and you will get all the help you need.

3 out of 5 eggsgreat for the price

Pros: Can't beat that price. Super fast shipping! ordered it christmas eve got it the day after christmas.

Cons: had a dead pixel near the middle of the screen. just one though. not enough of a problem for me to make a fuss over. the bleeding! bleeds so bad. all 4 corners bleed but the top right is awful. not really noticeable until you are looking at a black screen but my goodness.

Other Thoughts: The monitor I received had a warm hue to it so the whites look sort of yellowy. I know a lot of people expect or prefer a cool hue so keep that in mind before purchase. The bleeding was a lot worse than I expected I might try to RMA it but I think my case is probably more unique than the avg experience

1 out of 5 eggsCrashes software

Pros: Good screen, with nice graphics on things that it supports.

Cons: Causes many of my programs to crash or otherwise display improperly. I suspect this is due to the fact that these displays have no processors, and force everything onto the GPU. I have found nothing about this problem on line, however, so it may just be that this display is a defective unit. I have requested an RMA, and I hope they will give me a full refund on it.

Other Thoughts: Caveat Emptor - buyer beware - you get what you pay for... These are a screen in a plastic box and nothing more. If you run basic Windows software and don't use the Modern UI, you may find this useful, but if you play a lot of games, you will no doubt run into incompatibilities, likewise with Modern UI - I can't even get the Windows Store to load...

4 out of 5 eggsCrossover 27QW

Pros: size and resolution

Cons: Frame is kinda cheap and feels like it could break if not handled carefully when on a wall mount like i have. i have two of these and one has a little light bleed on the bottom

Other Thoughts: you are essentially getting a MAC cinema display minus all the connections a mac frame has and quality control hence the light bleed and cheap frame. I compare this to a mac screen because they are using the same LG LED panels.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat display

Pros: Very nice image, have not located any dead pixels.

Cons: Received with bad LCD driver board

Other Thoughts: Very fast shipping. Most of it must be by air. Beat by several days the video card I ordered at the same time from Newegg that shipped from the west coast.

The display arrived with an intermittent flicker. After a few weeks of emailing back and forth, they sent me two internal parts, LCD driver board (backlight) and a cable that ran from the display panel to the main processor board. These resolved the issue.

The frustrating part of this process is the time zone issues. I live on the US east coast. Every email required an overnight or longer wait.

Internally, the panel itself has an LG sticker on it.

It has two little speakers, but I have not connected them.

4 out of 5 eggs(Almost) Perfect!

Pros: Ordered two of these, and no dead pixels on either. The picture is amazing, very bright and crisp. The styling is also very nice, with the black/brushed aluminum combo.

Cons: You have to accept they won't be perfect at this price...the stand is not great. They wobble and don't feel terribly secure. But they have VESA capability, so you can always get a mount to fix that.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: -Great picture
-Simple design
-Comes with Dual-Link DVI cable
-Great Price
-Got to me (in Nebraska) in less than a week from South Korea, pretty solid.

Cons: -Not much here. Some people have commented that the stand is flimsy but I think it is just fine. I guess if I shake my desk the monitor shakes a bit, but I'm not really one to be shaking my desk all that often, so it isn't really a negative for me.

Other Thoughts: This monitor is a great value. I paid the extra $40 for the perfect pixel because I figure if I'm gonna spend over $300 on something, I might as well pay a little more to make sure it works the way I want it to. If you are looking to upgrade to a 1440 monitor, this is a great way to go because you don't have to shell out over $500.

Also, make sure you have a video card that will support this monitor. I originally got a Radeon R7 240 but this does not support it. You need to go to at least an R7 260 if you want it to work.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good for the money

Pros: * Unit had 0 dead pixels as advertised.
* Picture quality is reasonably good. I don't think these panels will win any awards, but they won't generally be returned either.
* Unit arrived fast and was packaged very well against damage.
* I appreciate the slim design and light weight of such a large monitor.

Cons: * Speakers that are built in aren't worth ever using.
* Stand is very flimsy. It will hold the monitor, but I wouldn't expect it to withstand even a modest bump from someone walking by and accidentally hitting it.
* Tilt mechanism in stand is not easy to manipulate.
* Brightness and volume control are the only two controls available in the electronics. There is no color adjustment, contrast, or anything else. This is fine as long as your picture is OK, but probably explains why in the Pros section I had to qualify that quality is reasonable good but won't win awards.

Other Thoughts: This serves my purpose just fine. I don't need lots of bells and whistles on a monitor. I need pixels. Lots of them. That's it. This allows me to get that without the expense of a lot of things I don't need. It would have been smart on their part to add a little picture adjustment control, I think it might result in a few more sales and a few less returns if people can tweak the settings on a specific panel to make up for manufacturing variance in panel image quality. Even without that though, the picture is still good enough for my work (mostly text based work, computer programming and the like...not things like Photoshop or video editing/mastering...for those tasks you would probably do best with the higher end monitors that have more intelligence and picture image quality controls and adjustments).
