5 out of 5 eggsWorks just fine with Macs

Pros: In response to the one review saying the product did not work on their Mac Pro, I have used Logitech mice and keyboards with the unifying receiver for years, during that time, have used with dozens of Mac models; pro, laptops, iMacs, using OS X versions from Snow Leopard to Yosemite. have never had an issue, and devices are recognized by the Mac immediately, including during the boot process. Meaning I can use wireless keyboard and press keys to access boot options during startup.

I'm not saying the person didn't have a problem, just wanted to offer another perspective. It should be noted that if you buy a replacement receiver, out of the box, you must first pair the new receiver with the mouse/keyboards you want, this is true of Windows and Mac.

You pair it using a Logitech utility available on their website. Without pairing it first, the receiver does not know what mice or keyboards you want it to recognize, they are keyed to different frequencies and hardware IDs. And it can't assume that any and every mouse and keyboard within reception should be connected.

I'm wondering if the individual who had a problem was aware of the need to run the pairing utility first. The utility is available for both Windows and Mac. You run the utility, it firsts scans the system for connected receivers, it then tells if that receiver is currently paired with any mice or keyboards and the models, you then have an option to REMOVE a device (remove the pairing) or ADD a device. To add, you are asked to toggle the power button on the device, then press a key on that device. It then registers the ID/frequency and saves it to the receiver (which obviously has some non volatile RAM memory inside used to save this info).

5 out of 5 eggsReceiver replacement

Pros: Replacement for K400r keyboard mouse combo. Worked perfectly in seconds

Cons: None really, they break easy though.

Other Thoughts: Wish I could have found the booster. Not really needed though but broke both in one swoop

4 out of 5 eggsSpare tiny thing that's easy to lose

Pros: Worked with no problems once I installed software, had to pair in Windows, not Ubuntu plug and play although the original unit did come up with no issues. Got on sale, worthwhile to have a backup for easily lost/misplaced item.

Cons: Did not recognize original after pairing with new unit, too bad would be nice to be able to use with multiple computers without having to move USB device each time but this is probably a feature of the software, guess I will have to buy a KVM switch after all.

Other Thoughts: I switch between a laptop and several desktop units with my wireless mouse and it is easy to forget the unit in one or the other. I keep the spare parked inside the mouse so if I forget to grab it I have a backup with me on the road.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product fast shipping

Pros: Works great with mouse M310 as I left USB receiver in laptop I was fixing. Shipping was only 2 days.

Cons: At first I had to download and install Logitech unifying driver which at first had a problem with windows 8.1 but then worked okay. Price was reasonable.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks.

Pros: Logitech's "unifying" system is a great idea.

I had an "orphaned" M310 mouse for which I had no transceiver. Bought this to make it useful again, and it worked perfectly. Grabbed the setup tool off Logitech's website and pow. Permanent "pairing."

I spent ten bucks to put a $30 mouse back in operation.

Cons: Nothing wrong.

Other Thoughts: This is how these things should work.
