Pros: None

Cons: This drive was received defective also. It never worked. It was the second of these drives in a row that was bad. This one was a replacement for the first bad one. Perhaps newegg received a bad batch? Returned for a refund.

Pros: -500gb of storage
-Average transfer rate of 88.7MB/sec
-Maximum transfer rate of 112.5MB/sec
-Access Time: 16.9ms
-Burst Rate of 82.3 MB/sec

Cons: -Higher heat and power draw

Other Thoughts: This drive is a huge boost over the stock WD Blue 320gb that came in my laptop, which capped out around 35MB/sec.

Pros: Will call from Newegg was fast. Next day pick up. Hard drive installed without a hitch. Gateway laptop with WD 500g Blue that started to develop bad clusters after 4 years of every day use.
New HD packaged well with original sealed anti-static bag.

Cons: None at this time.

Pros: I cannot say anything positive about a HDD failing after 7 days.

Cons: Not worth the time and money.

Other Thoughts: The time wasted on several OS installations and the RMA process is not worth the price tag of this drive. I would discourage anyone from considering this device.

2 out of 5 eggsThese are getting less reliable

Pros: We have a handful of these drives. When they get past the first hour they work great and seem to be lasting.

Cons: About 40% are DOA for whatever reason. Problem is we were keeping these as spares and they didn't get tested when they arrived. What a surprise when you put a brand new drive in a machine and all you hear is the disk grinding.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to test these when they arrive.

Other Thoughts: Knew better than to spend money on a WD hard drive... buy Samsung ..

Pros: This review is strictly about the packaging, which sometimes gets a bad rap around here. Some time ago the bad press was deserved but now...if they're packing them all like the one I got we're good to go.

Small box via UPS, inside a unit of inflated acrylic or plastic, whateverthehell it is -held the drive perfectly immobile inside the box...also was a b-tch to open. The drive itself is foil-wrapped as usual - no plastic case.

Cons: nun none senator sam nunn

Other Thoughts: Keep up the great HDD packaging NewEggers!

Pros: Speedy for a laptop drive; price per GB was not bad.

Cons: Still not as fast as SSD

Other Thoughts: The drive arrived well packaged and has performed without any issues so far. The true test will be if it outlasts the less-than-2-years of the Hitachi drive it's replacing.

Pros: none really - didn't need it to do much but last a few years...

Cons: had my local computer store install and re-load ....lasted 4 months... no warranty available as I had a local shop do the install and loading... If I'd bought through Newegg and then had my it guys load it up I might have had a warranty I suppose....
