1 out of 5 eggsLoose part rattling in left ear

Pros: Nice look, battery lasts, ok sound

Cons: Poor quality feel, creeky and rattly which is annoying considering that they are geared toward audiophiles. Loose part in speaker on left side that rattles with every step you take

Other Thoughts: Sound is mediocre at best, I would not pay over $70 for the quality that I see here. I bought them for the convenience of bluetooth and the comfort of a circumaural headset. My Monster DNA's sound amazing but I can't wear them for extended periods of time because I wear glasses and they smash my ears up against the ear pieces (also they are wired). Back to the velodynes, at full volume you can hear pretty well in a quiet room but anywhere else you can hear back ground noise. They look sharp and I like the finish, but here's the kicker. In the left ear, there is the most annoying rattle. Every step I take I can hear something crackling and definitely can't do anything active without wanting to take them off and throw them in the trash. It just blows my mind, but it does make sense why they were on such a good sale. I read in other reviews that velodyne doesn't honor warranty or something to that effect. I guess I should look into it. But I'm the type that would rather take them apart and fix it myself.

1 out of 5 eggsexcessive bass

Pros: The look and feel of the materials and workmanship is great. The unboxing of the product was exciting, they LOOK like they should sound really good.

Cons: They sound terrible. I didn't try the bluetooth audio before packaging them back up to return, but the wired audio was completely dominated by excessive bass which washed out everything else. I listen predominantly to electronic music which has a lot of bass but is meticulously mastered to be balanced at all frequencies - so it really showcases just how terrible these headphones are. No wonder they are on sale at such a deep discount.

5 out of 5 eggsSounds great

Pros: Excellent sound
Apt-X enhancement sounds noticeably better
Comfortable for 8 hour days
Solid construction
Unique design with a gorgeous matte finish
Battery life lasts a full day

Cons: Can be a bit small for large heads. Works well for me overall, but there are a limited number of positions I can place these in where they remain comfortable.

Other Thoughts: I initially bought the Velodyne vFree model because of the price difference and the various reviews which assured me the sound difference between that model and this one was slight.

I did not particularly care for the vFree's gloss finish, but overall I was very happy with that model. However when the volume button failed after only a couple months' use and I saw the vBold on sale for around $60, I jumped at the opportunity and I'm very glad I did.

The vBold has a much richer sound than the vFree and the overall construction of this model is superior. I've had the vBold for a bit longer than my initial experience with the vFree and I've had no troubles with anything breaking. Also, the matte finish really is much better looking. These are noticeably heavier than the vFree, however I do not mind the extra weight at all.

Comparing these to my set of Razer Kraken wired headphones, I can say their sound quality (even over bluetooth) seems much better. The bass is not as heavy as with the Razer headphones, but I don't really count that a bad thing, just something to use as a point of reference.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice if you can get them cheap

Pros: If you can get these for the under 100 price they've been at they are very nice. Pretty good build quality, Not too heavy considering there is a battery in them Very easy to pair with devices. They so far have worked with my laptop, PC, Samsung tablet and Samsung phone.

Battery Life is good. Charged them once so far and used them for about 4-5 hours. I live and a 3 bedroom ranch style house and can leave my tablet anywhere or walk away from my pc and go anywhere in the house and still have a good connection.

Also works with Teamspeak and Ventrilo, and from what my clanmates and friends have said, sound pretty decent. I cant comment on stuff like Skype, but I wouldn't see why they don't work with that as well.

I thought they had more then enough bass. While it is flat it isn't muddy or overpowering or weak.

Cons: They do sound a bit flat but given they're wireless I'm not gonna dock an egg. I can see why that would be a peeve for someone that spent full price for them though. Couldn't get them to work with my PS4. It would have been awesome to finally have a good PS4 headset. I didn't try hooking them up with the wire though.

If you buy the matte black ones prepare to wipe off fingerprints constantly. Its basically the same rubber paint on Razer products.

Other Thoughts: Have not had the problem a previous reviewer had with them cutting in and out. Perhaps they received a bad unit?

While they aren't full over the ear headphones they are large enough where only half of the padding has to rest over your ear, meaning you can have the back of your ear cupped in the earpad.

I have a pair of Sennheiser 280s and I wouldn't replace them with these, but sometimes I don't want that massive cord dragging around.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Wireless as advertised to approximately 10 m (30 ft), buttons allow for music navigation without use of phone, noise isolating (not to be confused with cancelling), cool design, LED lights allow feedback of what the earphone is doing (syncing, turning off, etc.)

Cons: hinges to fold earphone seem slightly weak; headphone will fold if I pick it up by one end. no Con's in quality of sound or material other than that.

Other Thoughts: volume on headphone and on phone can be at different levels.

3 out of 5 eggsComfortable, but lacking bass

Pros: Connects to Windows, OSX, Android, iOS with ease. Comfortable fit over ears and stylish looks. Great price on sale for good quality bluetooth. Fits my 11 year old son equally well as me at > 6'

Cons: Sounds is a bit flat and definitely lacking in bass. This is compared to in-ear 5 eb and over ear Sony VR6. I would expect the to sound better, but prefer the Sony sound for less cost (though it has an annoying cable)

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the Best Bluetooth Wireless Headphones

Pros: I've been using this bluetooth wireless headphone at work for about 3 months. It paired up perfectly on my iPhone 5s first and connected with my iPhone 6 as well. The vBolds are unique because they have unique artistic design with buttons on the side of the headphone. I have to admit, at first the buttons were a bit confused because it wasn't labeled but once I use it a few more I got the hang of what buttons does what. I kind it to say a video game where I don't know what button does what action so there is a learning curve involved.

I read the other reviews to these and a lot of people are saying these are on ear. Just to clarify that, these are over ear bluetooth wireless headphones.

The sound quality to these headphones is excellent! the mids and highs are very clear and detailed and bass does not overpower like a lot of other headphones do. Just a note, these are not noise cancellation headphones so if you're looking for something that cancels the noise look elsewhere.

One of the thing I find amazing is the range to these headphones. I often leave my phone in my office and walk around to the kitchen or other rooms and it still connects. Granted, the office I work isn't in a HUGE office so I guess this might not apply to everyone

Battery life overall is great, it lasts around 8-10 hours nonstop and it takes about 2 hours to charge the headphone full.

Cons: I wish the vBolds come in a hard case. It just came with a original pouch/bag. Price would be another issue

Other Thoughts: These are by far the best bluetooth headphones I've owned. I love the unique factor to the vBolds. There is however a learning curve to these headphones so be prepared.
