Pros: Print quality is pretty good, speed is pretty good, compact, simple design. Somewhat old school with not having Wii-Fi, but performs well.

Cons: Epson obviously has designed this printer to try to make you spend as much money on ink as possible. The printer often needs its print heads to be "cleaned," an automatic process that takes a couple of minutes and uses up quite a bit of ink considering you aren't printing anything. If the printer sits for a few months without use, it can sometimes need a couple of cleanings before being ready to go.

The printer has four cartridges, one of each color, and then black. If one out of the four is empty, the printer won't let you print anything or clean the print heads, so if you only want to print black, you have to buy and change out the color cartridges occasionally to be able to keep printing more black, since cleaning the heads uses ink of all four types. This is a frustrating limitation. Also, on my computer that is running Mac OS 10.9.5, the printing options seem to always default to color printing, so I have to change it to B&W every single time. Again, this seems like it might be a scheme to fool consumers into spending more on ink.

Fortunately, there are a lot of generic ink cartridges for this printer out there, and they seem to work as well as genuine Epson ones. It is also possible to fill your own ink cartridges, though with a little extra equipment and labor. These options are **far cheaper** than buying Epson cartridges (think 10% of the cost and even less), so consider looking into this. I'm sure this voids the warranty to use generic cartridges, or to fill your own, but at ~$120 cost for the printer, not that much is at stake, and I've never had any problems with generic cartridges.

Pros: Cheap, everyday home printer. Works good with a CISS system. I've printed about a ream of paper worth through it in the couple months I've had it, and never had a problem.

Cons: My only regret is I didn't get a wireless network printer. This one has to be plugged in to print to it, or be shared over a network. But that's one of the reasons it was so cheap.

Pros: I've not had a single problem with this printer in over a year. It goes through bouts of constant text and image printing, to months sitting in a cold storage room.
I like the fact that the color cartridges are separate and not integrated into a single color cartridge.

Cons: Difficult to find cartridges in the store, so you normally need to order them online.

Cons: Bought one of these new at a local store. Brought it home, Windows 7 installed the drivers for it. but I could not get it to feed paper in, let alone get it to print. This printer is an absolute hunk of junk. I missed with it for hours.

Tried to Epson website's trouble shooter, it suggested getting new ink cartridges. The ones that are in it, ARE new.

Other Thoughts: Overpriced hunks of junk.

Other Thoughts: This is a good printer if documents are the main thing you print with an occasional photo. Make sure to use a good quality photo paper, and you will get the best results.

Had for several years, and it has stopped working well. Printer heads need realigned every print, full black cartridge and it tells me that it's empty.

Other Thoughts: The ink cartridges are a little hard to find. If you live in a town without an office supply store, you might want to get an HP, or order ink online in bulk.

Pros: This printer does a decent job of everyday printing and good quality photo work. What makes it more unique to the many other printers around is that it's one of the few left that will allow use of spongeless- see through cartridges and their very easy refilling at the cost of about $1.25/cartridge along with a chip resetter that is easily obtainable. Additionally, if one wishes to refill the OEM cartridges that come with the printer and use bulk ink there is a cheap kit to allow refilling sold by www.inksupply.com , which they developed to do just that. It is unfortunate that every major printer company has made it difficult to recycle cartridges by refilling and are adding tons of plastic to the landfills, wasting resources by necessitating new cartridges to be made and saddling the high cost of printing onto the consumer. The C88+ and a few other Epsons that use this particular size cartridge make it viable to recycle, save money and cheap for the consumer to run a printer.

Cons: The cartridges use chips, which is Epson's way impediment to allowing the consumer to refill a cartridge. Fortunately a chip resetter easily circumvents that annoyance.

Other Thoughts: Although I am hopeful that Newegg will publish this I am dubious that it will be listed on the reviews as it knocks the status quo of how printer manufacturers make their profit. Still, I think it's worth attempting to make a point here on behalf of the environment and the consumer when it's the right thing to do and business has gone too far in the other direction.

Pros: Inexpensive, cheap ink, easy to use.

Cons: This printer seems great after you unbox it and print with it for a few days/ weeks. Then you notice the print quality goes patchy... clean the heads and its good again (wasting ink). Three days later, same thing happens- so you clean them again (wasting more ink). Before you know it, you have to buy more cartridges because the printer refuses to print if there isn't enough of every color of ink (because apparently you still need yellow to print a black, text only document).
The point is that this printer works well... but left alone for two or three days, the heads dry up and putting new ink in is not going to fix it. I've probably lost over $50 in ink that is sitting in the bottom of the printer from desperately trying to clean the heads so I can print something. I would NOT recommend for one of my friends to buy one of this line of Epson Printers. The print heads dry up and then no amount of cleaning will help.

Other Thoughts: I would still buy an Epson Pro model printer, but this low end series is definitely not worth it. Please stay clear.

Pros: Good, quality value. I buy printers nowadays based on ink price. I had an epson before with these types of individual ink cartridges and I could get re-manufactured ink online on the cheap{$4.xx per cartridge} and it worked perfect, same here.

Prints really quick and reasonably quite.

Great, small personal printer. Not a resource hog, don't need it to start with windows to work, only the spoolsv.exe service.
