5 out of 5 eggsNice monitor

Pros: Stunning image quality. No dead pixels that I can see even though they warn us there may be a few.

Cons: Fit and finish isn't on par with the Apple, Samsung or HP products but acceptable.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice.

Pros: I couldn't be happier with this, if there are any dead pixels I have yet to notice, the picture quality is unbeatable for the price.

This monitor is so sharp and vivid it almost hurts my eyes..in a good way.

Cons: No english documentation? uh.....? um? *shrug*

Other Thoughts: Very happy with the seller as well, delivery was quick..it literally got here the same day as a phone I overnighted, both were reported as shipped on the same day.

Great job nofeel.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent service - Excellent product.

Pros: Received and set up the panel and I have to say I am seriously impressed. This is sat next to a Dell U2711 and is a superb complement to it at half the price.

Shipping was spectacular arriving two days after I placed the order, the other item I ordered is still not having to travel from New Jersey. I requested the OSD be set to English which was done. Setup was a breeze, it does use an external power block which isn't ideal but is accpetable.

Colours are very well balanced and despite saying it could have 3 to 5 dead pixels I cannot find one which is a great bonus.

I recommend both the seller and the product, first rate.

Cons: Really have nothing to complain about, product is as described.

5 out of 5 eggsBest bang for the buck

Pros: Rejected apple cinema display is just awesome. On mine I could not find a stuck pixel. Picture quality is superb. No complaints. If you are in the market for a subpar 27” monitor that only does 1920 x 1080 make the stretch to this low end price range—it is absolutely worth the $$$ for the 2560 x 1440 and you will not be disappointed. I have a double monitor set up with a 22” 1920 x 1080; the Shimian makes the other monitor look blurry.

Cons: Everything is written in Korean; controls are in Korean and don’t know how to get it to English. No big deal; as the preset adjustments are good enough.

In the market for a bettor video card.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have a high-end video card- it will tax your video card. I have an older HD 68xx series video card and some games where I was FPS 90+ are now easily in the 60’s and lower. Other games such as Batman Origins unplayable FPS is 30 at best-- very choppy. Everyday work no complaints; I can easily write and read two pages at a time in Word and have Excel viewable at the same time. If you deal with PDF full reduced building blueprints; the monitor handles that very well—everything is readable on the blueprints.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing value for the money

Pros: After reading extensively about all the different korean-manufactured monitors that use high-end panels, I decided to go with this one, since it appeared to meet all the criteria I was aiming for, namely resolution, panel type, inputs and response time. Not to mention that this monitor costs less than half the price of the equivalent Apple cinema display.

I was aware that this panel would not be absolutely perfect, but I was absolutely blown away with just how close to perfection it is. The picture quality is fantastic! The colors are incredibly vivid and the blacks are great! I thought I might have to adjust it after getting it, but that wasn't the case. I'm actually afraid of touching anything, in case I might end up making things worse. Not that I can think of any way to make the picture look any better, lol! As for the build quality, it's not fantastic (see below), but the monitor doesn't feel cheap either, as it uses what feels like heavy duty plastic.

All things considered, the few flaws here and there are more than justified by the $500+ you save by buying this over an Apple display.

Cons: As I said, these monitors are cheaper because the panels used on them are rejected Apple panels that are not quite perfect, so they are rejected by apple, then sold under a different brand by different companies at a discount. I was expecting this to come with dead pixels all over because of the different return policies I've seen from the different companies stating that returns were for 5 or more dead pixels. I was very surprised and pleased to see that there is only ONE stuck pixel. That's it!

The rest of my gripes, which are more like nit-picking really, have to do with the design of the monitor. The screen itself is flat all the way from side to side. But that little bit at the bottom that looks like brushed metal (it's plastic BTW, but feels nice to the touch), where the brand is written, actually sticks out, as if it had been glued on top of the screen itself. It tapers nicely at the corners and bottom edge of the display, but there is still a sort-of lip or edge sticking out along the top edge, about an eight of an inch or so at the center of the screen right above the ShiMian logo. It doesn't bother me much, but you can't really see it on the pictures, so I thought it was worth mentioning.

Other Thoughts: The seller contacted me directly since they were unable to ship it to my APO address, but we were able to work out a solution. They also set the OSD to English, which was nice, and said they would try to get me a panel with good picture quality. I'm sure they did, because except for the one stuck pixel, the screen is flawless and the picture quality is great!
