5 out of 5 eggsComing up on 2.5 years and still going strong.

Pros: Fast enough for storage, even gaming. Quiet. Still working perfectly after 2.5 years.

Cons: None.

3 out of 5 eggsMissing Info

Pros: Good drive for the price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Hard disk speed is not stated (it says IntelliPower, not actual RPM).

5 out of 5 eggs3+ Years and counting

Pros: I've had this silly hard drive since Oct. of 2012. To be honest, with everything I've done with it - it actually blows my mind it still works perfectly. Countless reformats, wacko dual boot formats, 3 or more different MB transfers, multiple OSs. So I guess you could say I've tested it pretty well.

This is actually my first review on here - with a recent transfer of all my internals into a different case - and having a major raid 0 meltdown of other hardrives (2 x 4TB), and maybe you can imagine the nightmare of that - months! of data, most of it backed up thankfully - but still. Pulling this drive out, and looking at it - I thought, Man? I actually want to give this drive a good review and share it.

After all this time - I appreciate not having had any hassles with it since I bought it.

Cons: The reason why it's a silly drive to me is because it's a 1 TB non-SSD hard drive. A person can get a TB thumb drive nowadays, - it's a small amount of space in my opinion for this type of hard drive. (can't remember the type right now? Platter? eh...)

Regardless - I've been using it for an OS drive and although I'm sure an SSD drive would be drive would be faster of course, honestly - I always wind up spending what money I have on other stuff. Including other computer parts.

So the only con I can really give is it's only 1 TB, which if you're looking at this page - chances are you already know that unless you're currently hallucinating for some strange reasons. (Dementia? Psychosis? etc...) So, in other words - I don't have any real cons to write - maybe that it doesn't talk to me? Fetch sticks? I'm reachin' here...

Other Thoughts: Quiet I think - meaning I don't ever remember any sound annoyances I've had with it. Personally, if you could use a steadfast 1TB 7,200 RPM HD - after 3 years, 2 months so far and my own eccentricity - I'm still waiting for this hard drive to finally say "I've had enough of this *%@&!"

Can't go wrong with this one in my experience. I'd say get it, and if you're able to teach it to fetch or sing - let me know!

3 out of 5 eggsSlow Boot Up But Good Reponse After Boot

Pros: Frankly speaking, it feels like any other 7,200 RPM hard drive. I upgraded from a Western Digital Blue and it only feels a tiny tiny bit faster.

Cons: Booting up the OS on this drive is pretty slow. It's as if it's always in power saving (lower performance) mode.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted

Pros: Ran perfectly fine with good stable write speeds and was fairly cheap as I caught it on sale for $45

Cons: bout a month and a half ago I started noticing my downloads taking way longer than normal. When observing the disk activity I noticed it was started to hang up on downloads as the write speed was jumping all over the map. maybe I just got a defective one, but had to knock off 2 eggs for the short life span

2 out of 5 eggs3.5 years isn't long enough

Pros: Worked as supplied in my Tivo DVR

Cons: Started fruiting out about 3 months ago, now fails every test in the DVR, lags out. Was maybe 3.5 years old max.

Other Thoughts: since I didn't want the next one to only last 3.5 yrs I bought a different model.

5 out of 5 eggsRunning Great So Far

Pros: Bought three of these. One for three different security DVRs that needed extra storage. They are working great so far. The run cool and play video back without any issues.

Cons: None that I have seen so far.

Other Thoughts: These are being replaced by the WD's Purple line of hard drives. The 1TB Purple version is pretty much the same thing as this. Just has a purple label on it.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pros: Read\Write speed is fantastic. Very quiet.

Cons: Failed within the first eight months - Several sectors went bad, disc repair cannot amend the issue, drive is complete junk at this point.

Other Thoughts: Thinking I just got a bad egg, really, but I can't give this more than two stars considering how quickly it failed, and the amount of data I had on it when it did so.

1 out of 5 eggsTerribly slow and crashed twice...

Pros: none.

Cons: Maybe this is just bad one, but its really slow. My old computer which is 5 years old HD runs faster than this piece of junk. 200gb used and its already being a slug....

Crashed on me twice already.... i've had WD drives before and they were much better than this one.. not sure if its this model or the brand went to you know where...

Other Thoughts: Don't buy it.

2 out of 5 eggs1TB of lost data

Pros: Fast and quiet while it worked.

Cons: Died after 8 months of not everyday use. Used primarily as a B/U drive, so there was no stress involved

Other Thoughts: I have a WD hard drive that has been spinning up daily for over 4 years without so much as a blip. What's up with the new WDs that they conk out so quickly?
