2 out of 5 eggsQuality is just not great, multiple issues

Pros: Tuning system is very good, lots of profile settings, great software, actual sensor functionality is great, snipe button works well, button layout itself is good apart from the location of the profile switcher button. weights are nice and work well

Cons: build quality is sub-par. Right mouse button (not the switch, the whole plastic piece) broke off and caused sticky clicking until it finally snapped completely off. Absolutely awful. Epoxied back onto its pathetic little cheap "legs" and it's held up ever since, but I've never had a mouse have something like this happen. Buttons themselves lack feedback, the L/R button is permitted free vertical movement so it "rattles." setting button is easy to hit, very vague on what profile you actually have. the "free spin" mode on the mouse is completely pointless for a gaming mouse and all it serves to do is give you a mouse with an AWFUL m3 click and very vague incremental up down. side to side is also useless browser trash that isn't relevant in games.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I am sickeningly disappointed with this mouse. poor build quality, flimsy construction and cheap feel along with some absurd browser-mouse features like side scrolling and unlockable mouse wheel have me wondering whatever went through logitech's mind. Avoid this mouse. I keep looking for a truly feature-rich mouse with zero acceleration and I always wind up going back to a deathadder, which is a solid, rugged, reliable design. I'm a huge peripheral guy, I love my keyboards, mice, pads, etc. and this is by far one of the most disappointing mice I've ever bought out of the dozens I've owned. Worse than the dirt cheap mini bluetooth "gaming" mouse I got for $15 for my laptop in build quality, and that's sad.

5 out of 5 eggsBEST GAMING MOUSE

Pros: Ever sense I took the mouse out of the box I was astonished by the looks and the feel of it. It fits perfectly with my hand and the grip is great. And even better you can adjust what the mouse sensitivity if you download the software (which is free) if you want a great gaming mouse, this is the one for you!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Mouse

Pros: This mouse is insanely comfortable, at least in my hand, using a palm grip, its as if it was designed to fit my hand (I know this is a little biased)
The thumb rest is the perfect size to gently rest the edge of your thumb.
The textured grips on both sides feel very nice while holding the mouse.
All buttons are quite easily accessed while holding it, save for the Profile select button and scroll wheel resistance button (the two behind the scroll wheel) but then I don't expect to use them much, especially not on the fly.
The tracking feels incredibly sensitive and accurate, though it has far to high a max DPI for me. (I use 2700 reg, 4k max)
It looks absolutely beautiful!

Cons: I can't change the colour of the "G".... it's not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: I bought it elsewhere due to a sale, but outside of the sale, Newegg would have been the place I purchased.
I have always liked braided cables, I have no clue weather its a pro or con in terms of how well the mouse preforms, its simply an aesthetic point for me.
As I said earlier, it is absolutely beautiful!

1 out of 5 eggslet down!

Pros: It's a great mouse when it was working....

Cons: I got the G502 when it first came out so I paid 85 dollars for it!
I loved it, till last Thursday it fell off my desk a 27 inch fall (yes I measured it) it was enough to end this mouse!

I have a cheap backup no name brand mouse that feels like it was made for 50 cents. Since it is a mouse I don't care about it has been battered and abused. Guess what, it's still working.

My G502 on the other hand, one fall and the left click breaks!

Customer service is horrible! HORRIBLE! after being hung up on twice someone finally listened. Told me my case would be updated in 36 hours. it's been 5 days, I had to contact them just to be told I'm awaiting approval. 5 year warranty is useless if you can call it in. I now see they knocked off 21 dollars from the price...
This is a 30 dollar mouse at best! No joke.

If I don't get a replacement I'm done with their stuff. Over the past 10 years I used to buy their gear, but the last few years their products seem so cheap. Even 80 dollars and up web cam, mice, headphones all break easy or are of poor quality.... Don't ask me how I know.

Other Thoughts: With how easy this mouse can fail to work the price should be 29.99!

3 out of 5 eggsTremendous build quality, but irksome thumb button is a deal breaker

Pros: + Sensor quality is unbelievable -- beyond what any normal human could get out of it. Going over 6,000 dpi doesn't seem like a typical use case, but nice to have the option.
+ Love the overall shape, especially as a longtime G5 user with a claw/fingertip grip. Glide is also very smooth on a hard leather surface. Button clickiness is also perfect. Very responsive, fast, tactile.
+ Love the sturdy weight and adjustments
+ Really like Logitech's gaming software to tweak DPI settings and customize button functions.

Cons: Unfortunately, the real deal breaker for me is the "DPI shift" thumb button, which I was constantly fighting with. If you have a claw or fingertip grip like me, where you move the mouse left or right with your thumb and pinky finger on either side and your wrist resting on your desk -- there's nowhere to comfortably put your thumb without interfering with the thumb button. I tried for several weeks to get used to the DPI shift in shooters, but it became a nuisance. Maybe more useful in actually sniping situations where you're perched and waiting and not moving around much, but for faster-paced run 'n' gun gameplay, I did not find it very natural or useful at all.

I eventually turned off the DPI shift functionality, but I was still pressing that button every time I moved the mouse left or right. I've heard some people are simply removing the button entirely and covering it with electrician's tape. I'm not sure I'd go that far.

Other Thoughts: I eventually did RMA and return the mouse. I ordered a G303 and G400S as alternatives to try. The G400S is two years old now, but still very fast (4,000 DPI) but very light with no weight adjustments. Still waiting for the G303, which has the same sensor as the G502 except with a simpler design, like the old-school G5 I'm so used to, and no thumb button. Hopefully the G303 does the trick, because I really loved everything else about the G502's design besides the annoying thumb button.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Nice comfortable mouse, and I love the wheel lock button that lets you "spin" the wheel without friction; very helpful when scrolling quickly on large web pages, but also very sensitive. The mouse also feels very smooth and accurate, but not much different than any other gaming mouse I suppose.

Cons: Can be a little easy to accidentally click the wrong thumb buttons when gaming.

Other Thoughts: It works great, can't complain.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best Gaming Mouse

Pros: This is hands down the best mouse I have ever owned. I upgraded to this mouse from the logitech G5 which was also a great mouse. I think that the G502 proteus core was built upon the G5's design with extra features. I really like the feel of this mouse. Don't be fooled by its unique looking appearance, this mouse fits really comfortably in my hand and I can game for hours without any kind of irritation. The sensor of this mouse is great, its arguably the best one on the market, and 12000 dpi....need I say more? The on the fly dpi works great and you can set 3 different profiles that can also be switched on the fly. I really like the sniper button which is quite beneficial in games like CS:GO and BF4. Also the weight adjustment factor is great, I'm using all the weights since I like the feel of using a heavy mouse. This mouse's feet are great and glides seamlessly on my mouse pad. The mouse buttons are all very responsive and I love the scroll. wheel.

Cons: Nothing really about the performance, but I would've liked if there were maybe more lights on the mouse where you could customize. Not a big deal though.

Other Thoughts: Get this mouse, its perfect for any type of gaming especially for FPS. The extra buttons can also give you advantages in games like MMo's and MOBA's for key binds.
