Hardware Installation
1. Turn Off the power to your computer.
2. Unplug the power cord and remove your computer’s cover.
3. Remove the slot bracket from an available PCIe slot.
4. To install the card, carefully align the card’s bus connector with
the selected PCIe slot on the motherboard. Push the board down firmly.
5. Connect the system power source to the board’s power connector.
6. Replace the slot bracket’s holding screw to secure the card.
7. Replace the computer cover and reconnect the power cord.
Driver Installation
Please make sure the board is installed before proceeding with driver
installation.
Important: If your system doesn’t boot to Windows properly with our
card installed, check with your system’s manufacturer for the latest
system firmware update.

For Windows® 2000/XP/Server 2003/ Vista/Win 7
Note: Server 2003 Server Pack 1 or above is required to install the
FireWire 800 Card 2+1 Ports successfully.
Windows® 2000/XP/Server 2003 SP1/Vista/Win 7 will automatically detect and install the correct driver for the FireWire 800 Card 2+1 Ports.

To Verify Windows Installation
Right click My Computer, then click Manage, click Device
Manager. The Device Manager window opens. Scroll to the IEEE
1394 Bus host controllers icon and click on the plus symbol, the
Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
should be displayed.

Works great. Effortless install. Cons: Shipping was concerning. Sub OEM packaging... in fact what I received was a worn brown bubble envelope, from Schenzou China, with the product wrapped in a bag that I'm not even sure had anti static properties. No installation instructions or install media. No paperwork. I was very happy when this card actually functioned properly. Other Thoughts: I was not at all pleased with the packaging/handling care, And had I been aware this would arrive in less than "OEM WHITEBOX" style packaging, I would have purchased elsewhere. All in all, it worked great... But if I want that kind of packaging I can go to (deleted online auction site) for 1/2 the price. Did you find this review helpful? This review is from: Sunweit PCI express FireWire 800 / 1394b (2+1) Ports card with TI chipset Pros: I had complained that the card stops a Supermicro X10SRA from booting. The cause turned out to be the per-slot settings for ROM on expansion cards: UEFI, LEGACY, or NONE. I switched the setting for the slot in which the card was installed from LEGACY to NONE.The machine then booted with a Firewire card installed. But by then, I was trying not the Sunweit card, but a Syba card. So the Sunweit card is probably OK, although I did not test it. Cons: Motherboard: Supermicro X10SRA, configured for UEFI. OS: W8.1 Machine halted at an early BIOS screen and froze. Will not boot to OS with card installed. With card removed, machine boots normally. Is this a UEFI problem? Other Thoughts: In choosing between the Syba and Sunweit cards, notice these differences: 1. The Syba has larger filter capacitors. But they are of the electrolytic type. The Sunweit uses smaller capacitors, but of a more durable type. I do not know how to weigh this. 2. The Syba has three external ports, one of which is Firewire 400, the other two Firewire 800. 3. The Sunweit has two external ports, and one internal port, all Firewire 800 Both use the TI chipset, which is the preferred one. Did you find this review helpful?
