Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Cooled very well. Never seen temps above 30 degrees. Almost as good as water cooling.

Cons: water cooling is slightly better.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Great alternative to my water cooling unit that went out. The instruction for installing to an LGA 1366 left something to be desired. Eventually I stumbled upon a youtube video indicating that the backplate mount needs to be flipped over in comparison to many of the other installations.

Cons: It's pretty tall. Those few pipes on the top literally touch my casing. Had I used a side panel fan, it would not have worked. I have what I consider to be a "normal" mid-tower. About .5 inches on either side of my 5.25" DVD-RW drive.

Other Thoughts: The supplied fan runs at such low rpms (600) on boot that my bios freaks out and says CPU fan error. Might be better to plug that fan into a chassis fanport and use a 2nd fan (assuming push + pull) for the cpu. Easy mount for a second 120mm fan to create push + pull.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Keeps my cpu very cool.

i5 4690k @ 3.5 GHz (stock): Around 25-30 idle, no more than 65 load

i5 4690k @ 4.2 (overclocked, 1.125 VCore): 30-35 idle, no more than 75 load

Room temperature is around 25-26 degrees (celcius) at all times.

Cons: Instructions. Pain to install. Barely fits (fan had to be moved up or else it would bump into my RAM)

Other Thoughts: Great, cheap cooler.

2 out of 5 eggsExcellent product that I hate

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Good cooling.
Quiet.

Cons: Enormous
A serious pain to install.

Other Thoughts: I don't overclock and I usually stick to small form factor builds, but I had a ton of space in my new rig and my 8350 was running hot, so I figured why not. It really is a great fan/heatsink. and it keeps my 8350 at 40 or below in the middle of an Alabama summer. I only rate it so low because I've never ever ever been so frustrated with putting anything together, ever, before in my life. If you haven't done a cooler like this before you may have issues with the "vague-ish" directions. that.. combined with the fact that I had one standoff screw that would NOT fit into the backplane. I finally "dremeled" it after 35 minutes of cursing and yelling at the terrible design.
That probably won't happen to you, and keep in mind that's really the only reason I still loathe this thing and it's entire family.
It's also laughably large.
but it will certainly do what it's supposed to do, well.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat for the price

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: not that loud, keeps CPU cool, cheap, easy to put together

Cons: can't really think of any right now other than the directions that come with it are kind of bad.

Other Thoughts: Directions aren't the best for building a computer for the first time, but just look online and it's pretty simple to install it. It also is kind of big so just double check to make sure it'll fit.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressed

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: I am not using this cooler for computer gaming. I am using it or AI research. I recently put together a computer with an AMD 8 core 4.4Ghz Vishera processor. That processor is either sold without a cooler or with a water cooling system. I have been running all 8 cores at 100% for 22 hours. My load averages (Gentoo Linux) are 8.00, 8.01, 8.05 and have been since yesterday morning. This is producing an impressive amount of heat. This cooler is able to keep the CPU from shutting down. I had to open the case after an hour and a half but after I did that the temperature of the CPU dropped from 185F to 179F in under 20 seconds. That's pretty impressive.

Cons: I had to pull the motherboard out of the case to install it. That made installation a bit tougher, but this thing is a beast. I'm glad that the people engineering this gave it better support.

Other Thoughts: I'm still running this processor hotter than it should be running. I really should redesign this computer around a water cooling system.

1 out of 5 eggsMissing Pieces, Totally Unusable

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Looks like it would work well.

Cons: Arrived missing multiple mounting pieces, including 3 of the 4 standoffs, the nuts, the nut setter, screws, and rubber pads.

Other Thoughts: Would really have liked to use this on my first build. Considering buying the parts set from the Cooler Master website, but I don't feel like waiting another week and spending another 8 bucks on this thing.
