Cooler Master's RR-920-N520-GP "Hyper N520" combines a stylish, elegant design with silent operation and a brilliant cooling solution. Designed to cool the full range of current Intel Socket LGA 1366, 775 and AMD Socket (AM3/AM2+/AM2) processors, it does so with gusto. It features a unique split fin design that puts more surface area within the space cooled by over 43 CFM of airflow from the dual 92mm fans.

A selection of mounting components allow the user to obtain the optimal installation of the cooler to the motherboard so that the cooler's copper base is snug against the CPU's heat spreader. Five 6mm U-shaped copper heat pipes draw heat away from the processor up to the array of aluminum convection fins which they support. The heat is dispersed at a silent 19 dBA by the fan which spins on long-lasting sleeved bearings.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation and Cooling Performance The copper base and 4 copper heatpipes conduct heat fast; high-density aluminum fins maximize heat dissipation area, plus dual 92mm, 1800RPM sleeve bearing fan to deliver optimal cooling performance.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master RR-920-N520-GP features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as the Intel LGA 775 and 1366 platform.

Cooler Master’s Hyper TX series has evolved with requirements of mainstream CPUs. The introduction of Hyper TX3 marks another milestone with Cooler Master's first-ever full compatibility - Intel LGA 1156 socket. The Hyper TX3 also brings back the "original" direct contact heat-pipe design from Cooler Master.

  • newegg Superior Heat Dissipation The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features "heatpipe direct contact" technology for efficient heat conduction, plus high-density aluminum fins for maximum heat dissipation. The 92mm fan runs efficiently to deliver unparalleled cooling performance.
  • newegg Expandable for a Second Fan Add a 2nd cooling fan (optional) to the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 to achieve the best possible cooling performance!
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 features broad compatibility with AMD socket 754, 939, 940, and AM2 platforms, as well as Intel LGA 775 and 1156 platforms.

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Unmatched performance for the value, these are the tenants that guided Cooler Master engineers when designing the Hyper 212 EVO. Patented Continuous Direct Contact (CDC) technology ensures that the heat pipes are free of barriers while drawing heat away from the processor. A PWM fan ensures that fan speed can be intelligently controlled to ensure that it only speeds up when more cooling is necessary.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat budget cooler!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: This cooler is better than my old 120mm Radiator liquid cooler, dropped the temperatures from 52C to 42C in prime95 (both temps OCed FX-6300 4.2Ghz). It's pretty quiet if you ask me. I do however have another fan running the heatsink in a push-pull config and good airflow to my case.

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: For the price, there's really nothing to complain about it. If you're coming from the stock cooler of an Intel/AMD CPU, this will definitely keep your CPU cool for mild overclocking. I'd recommend this cooler to anyone that needs a great budget cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsQuite the cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Fan is quiet as ever. Even when stressing the system and revved up the fan it stayed pretty quiet. Installation was easy.

Cons: As other reviews have mentioned you can slightly twist the entire cooler even when it's secured to the board. But the small pin in the bracket prevents it from twisting too far.

Other Thoughts: Installation videos were more helpful than the guide that came with it.

5 out of 5 eggsBig bang for little bucks

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: My refurb Corsair watercooler died, and I needed a fast cooling alternative to stay up and running. Picked one of these up for under 30, and haven't looked back. I'm running an FX-8150 at 4.2Ghz with a push configuration in a Corsair 350D. I'm idling 17C and pushing about 40-50C under load. Not bad at all. Hoping to add a pull fan soon to boost performance a touch.

Cons: Not a huge fan of the rear nuts they make you install for the front mounting screws. Why not just thread the holes on the mounting plate? This would probably be my only gripe, and it was during the install process. Not a big deal, overall.

Other Thoughts: I can see why this bad boy is such a hot seller. Great performance for very little dollars.

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cpu fan

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Man you want a great fan system for your buck this is it. I did a little research be for I bought the fan and it was highly rated. I added a second fan to it and keeps it cool in the 40 to 50s and sometimes in the sixties when gaming. I have i7-4790 I bought at Newegg , not OC unless your going liquid cooled, get this CPU sink get an extra fan its great. it fit with room to spare in my Stryker case.

Cons: Directions were small for us old people, no really a big deal.

Other Thoughts: Really if your cooling your cpu with a fan get this one , not for small cases

1 out of 5 eggsThe worst product I've ever purchased

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: It arrived on time

Cons: It's a complete and utter piece of garbage. Coolermaster endeavored to make a fan that fit numerous CPU sockets. In doing so, they've made something that doesn't work with a majority of the sockets it supposedly supports.

Not compatible with my Intel socket 1150 mobo, despite explicitly stating that it is.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this. Spend money on something guaranteed to work for your CPU. Because this isn't it.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job!

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Keeps cpu 10c cooler than stock heat sink, fairly easy install. took about 20 mins. easy clip on fan. fits in my Enermax Ostrog GT perfectly

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Came seriously close to my ram sticks in slot 1,
im using gskill sniper 4gbx2. if I had larger high profile ram this cooler wouldn't fit, guess I got lucky.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat but HUGE heat sink

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Keeps my pc extremely cool. Probably the best cooling system for your budget around. Very cheap and efficient. My current cpu idles at 9 degrees which is amazing. 30-40 degrees at full load.

Cons: This thing is HUGE!!! Make sure you got planet of room in your case. Also this can be a bit of a pain to install which is why I only gave it 4 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Would def recommend this to anyone looking for a great cost effective cooling solution.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: * Great Cooling performance
* Great Cost
* Looks pretty alright

Cons: * Its bulky
* The included fan can be noisy

Other Thoughts: I knew what the size of this cooler was when I purchased it. But it is something else to see in person. This thing is pretty cool to have in your case. It dominates the viewing area of my case, which I had expected. I was using the Hyper 101i, (which was great btw) on an overclocked FX 6300 (4.3gHz). Under full stress my temps were around 64*C. Now they only get up to around 55* (I installed another fan for push pull). Absolutely incredible. Under normal loads I can keep the fans turned down and have no problems at all.
Just remember to measure your case to be sure it will fit. If you have all your RAM populated, you might have trouble getting this in, even then, the fans can be re-positioned slightly to allow sufficient clearance. Overall a great buy. I highly recommend this cooler for anyone wanting to eek out some extra performance from an overclock.

3 out of 5 eggshuge heat sink

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Does the job well. keeps cpu cool

Cons: the heatsink and fan itself are monstrous. If you have a motherboard that has the ram slots next to the cpu then you will regret buying this as it will cover AT LEAST 1 ram slot. .

5 out of 5 eggsCooler Master Cooly Cool

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: - Keeps the bad temps down
- Just plain works

Despite some review say that screwing the heatsink bracket into the motherboard required REALLY HARD PRESSURE -- I did not experience any difficulty in getting the screws placed and tightened that required pressing down too hard on the screws. It was pretty simple.

Cons: - Somewhat difficult to install
- Heatsink can only be placed one direction

Make sure watch installation videos on Youtube. Very helpful tips there. AM3 motherboards have a different configuration, so make sure you use the right mounting screws and position the back plate correctly!

Take your time installing this! Study the videos and be prepared. If you are lucky, your case will allow you access to your mounting holes without having to remove the whole motherboard. I was not lucky in this case and had to take the motherboard completely out of the case to install the mounting bracket. Install time: 1 hr/15 minutes.

Other Thoughts: My AM3+ 3.4Ghz CPU was running way too hot with gaming (70c!!!) and the stock AMD fan just wasn't doing the job, so I did my homework and found this fan highly recommended. No eggs lost, but it would be nice if the heatsink could be placed to the side since my fan now blows either to the top of my mid-tower case or to the bottom (where my graphics card is placed). It can't be positioned to point towards the back of the case to push the hot air out. Still, it is keeping my CPU at a constant 38c on idle and never goes over 50c during intense gameplay. Worth every cent!!!
