4 out of 5 eggsGreat product, but gets LOUD under stress

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: - Easy to install
- Looks pretty nice
- Price to performance
- Keeps my CPU nice and cool. Sub 65 C under heavy AAA gaming

Cons: - NOISE. As I said, the temperature under heavy gaming load is really good, but this thing gets pretty loud when it's going above 90%.

Other Thoughts: For the price, you really can't get better than this.

Pros: - Looks amazing
- Well designed and manufactured

5 out of 5 eggsCold As My Heart

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: well built and will last me as long as I don't bend it with superpowers

Cons: Had to switch the fan to pull because less dust formation

Other Thoughts: BUY it for the style of having something huge, you know what I mean.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat air cooler

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: - Even though this CPU cooler is cheap, it gets the job done. Have an FX-8320 @ 4.2GHz 1.3V Overclock and temps only get to 56C over many hours of Prime95 (Much better than the stock cooler for that CPU).

- CPU Core temps idle around 24-28C with that OC as well. This is all with just the fan that came with it (and case fans as well)

- The fan that comes with it is much stronger than I expected.

- The fan seems to be quiet, though I cannot tell since my computer is pretty loud anyways but it is definitely not as loud as the other strong fans my case has.

Cons: - It's very big. I was planning on buying another case fan to pull air onto the top of the cooler, but the heat-sink is just about touching the side of my case. It would not have fit in my case if that area wasn't extended for holding case fans.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this for anyone on a budget. Get's the job done but make absolute sure you measure your case! (Mine is the AeroCool StrikeX-One if you want to make sure it will fit).

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, but may Demand a Blood Sacrifice

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Quieter than stock (particularly AMD stock. Can only assume it's also quieter than intel's stock cooler)
Pretty solid construction
Doesn't look too shabby
Keeps my Kavari Nice and Cool :) Plenty of room to OC

Cons: Can be very stubborn to install
Instructions suck, Youtube will be your savior.

Other Thoughts: This is a large air cooler, make sure you have enough room to fit it in your case (its a very close fit on my Rosewill Challenger case). The fins are quite sharp. Demanded a blood sacrifice from brushing up against it too much while installing. Probably should use gloves :)

5 out of 5 eggsKing of Air Cooling

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Hard to argue with the results. Easy to install, inexpensive, quiet, and keeps things cool as a cucumber. Considerable OC'ing overhead as long as you keep your case clean and neat. Best price/performance air cooler on the market imo.

Cons: You know what you're getting into with one of these. They are freaking huge and take up a lot of real estate.

Other Thoughts: Core I7 6700K running @ 24C idle, 36C under typically gaming.

4 out of 5 eggsBig bang for the buck !

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: I was very surprised by the number of items included with this cooler. All the needed and expected parts to mount plus thermal paste.

Cons: .Double check how much room you have in your case before buying this cooler, this baby is VERY tall and may or may not fit in all cases.

3 out of 5 eggsA great cooler, but it has some serious flaws that Cooler Master could easily fix

This review is from: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 mm PWM Fan

Pros: Attaches very securely to the motherboard. I could probably lift the system by it. Provides really good temperature control to an i7 6700K.

Cons: The directions are inexcusably awful. There are no verbal instructions at all, just some drawings with insufficient context to convey sufficient meaning. I had to study the dang thing for 15 minutes to figure out what it meant well enough that I was at least somewhat confident I wasn't going to fry hundreds and hundreds of dollars of components if I used this cooler. -1 egg for the frustration and potential risk.

The other problem is the fan. At idle temps, it should not be audible, let alone put out the kind of rattling or grinding sound it puts out. The fan doesn't look damaged, so I have to assume it's just cheap. I replaced it with a Fractal Design fan, which is inaudible at idle. -1 egg because I had to spring for a fan to make up for the sub-par one that came with the cooler.

Other Thoughts: The copper and aluminum parts are of great quality. You only have to figure out how to install it once, so if you're building more than one system, you'll make up the lost time caused by the terrible directions soon enough. Plan upfront on replacing the fan if you're going for a quiet build. Once all that is out of the way, you'll be happy with it.

Pros: Seems to do the job at a reasonable price. Impressive size.

Cons: Worthless instruction foldout-- watch a Youtube video or two.
