1 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: Very airy case for air cooled systems

Cons: Will not fit the Coolmaster Glacier 240 liquid cooler. Coolmaster's website specs say "240mm cooler on the side of case." The reality of the matter is that is select 240mm coolers.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's feels like a budget case

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: - It works
- It looks fairly nice
- 3.5" external bay & 2 5.25" bays
- 2 usb 3.0 and 2 usb 2.0 ports on front
- Reset button

Cons: - The radiator support isn't that nice. I had to move things around
- The 2.5" bay is a little weird. It made installing a drive more difficult
- Only included 5 clips. I could only install 2 hard drives because of this limitation in addition to a 3 other external peripherals.
- All the screws came in one bag, not sorted
- Not a lot of options for cable management
- It feels like a $40 case, not a $60 case

Other Thoughts: This is my first build, and I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing. This might not be 100% accurate.

4 out of 5 eggsMy favorite case

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: Simple good looks and lots of ventilation.

Cons: Some Asus motherboards have SATA connectors at the edge that point out to the side, not up. This case has a recessed area for the motherboard that makes it impossible to use some of the connectors. That might be serious but those I have seen still have six useable SATA connectors.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat buy.. Economic and Efficient

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: It's been a while since I build a desktop from scratch. I was able to put in eight drives very easily.
- The cuts and groves on the bottom make it very easy to manage the cables and avoid clutter on the top.
- An additional 2.5" caddy supports 2 more drive in the back.
- Lot of room for Fans and cooler (see cons)
- Option to do screwless installation (see cons below)

Cons: - It would have been nice if there were more screwless clips, I think there were only 3-4 total
- only two fans came pre-installed, would have been nice to have more with the case

5 out of 5 eggsIf only there were more eggs

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: By far the most professional looking case I've ever used, what caught my eye was the brushed metal looking plastic going down the front right side of the bezel which makes it really sleek and professional looking, I don't like all the flashy lights, bells and whistles, this didn't really have anything flashy, beside the hdd l.e.d. which literally flashes. The front bezel, when you first take it off, be a bit careful, it is on there tight, if you go too fast, you may break it, once you get used to it though, you can take it off fairly easily to clean the dust out, I do that on a weekly basis, I don't even use canned air, just blow on the inner side real hard and all that dust should fly out, or if it's windy outside, hold it up to the wind.

Overall a VERY roomy case, cable management is a little sub-par, I got all the cables inside an hdd space, so really consider the psu you're going to need, a modular, flat cable psu should do the trick. Another thing to note is that this case is well ventilated, as stated it comes with two fans, which push a good amount of air, the air/noise ratio is quite nice, my graphics card is louder, and keeps the overall internal temps below 80*F where outside ambient temps are around 68-72*F. The case holds eight 120mm fans in total, so lots of room for improvement in the ventilation category.

So many hdd bays i don't know what to do with, I had 4 in there at one point, 2 sata, 2 ide, i upgrade the motherboard which only has sata, so i pulled the ide ones out after moving everything to sata and that was that.

Now this case does take some time to work with, so patience is key when working with this case, the main point being cable management, it is a tad bit of a challenge cleaning it up, but nothing a few zip ties can't accomplish, I didn't use any, but that's beside the point, just plan everything well and all should be good.

Cons: These are by no means anything that should deter you from buying this case, very little things i noticed. My particular case, i noticed while cleaning it one day, the bottom rivets are leaning to one side, as if the case had warped somehow, I initially thought it was the motherboard at fault because it was a bit of a pain putting in the mobo, but i disproved that finding that the rivets were leaning toward the mobo, not away. The case was very well package, so i don't believe this happened from shipping, and the problem only seems to be on the bottom, maybe miss-aligned during assembly, but it's not something i'd return it for, that would be absurd.

The case isn't week, but it isn't strong either, it's something you could put a few hard drives on, or a monitor, but it's not something you'd want to be using as a step stool any time soon, my cat likes to lay on it though, but if you're looking for something to go into a batting cage or a drop test machine, find a different case, overall it should keep whatever you put in it nice and safe.

The side panels refuse to stay in without thumb screws, I usually left the thumb screws out because i was in my case quite frequently switching out hard drives or add-in cards or doing some kind of shenanigans, but if the thumb screws are left out, and the case is given a neat little tap on the bezel or something, that panel's just gonna fall out.

Again, these are NOT things that should deter you from this case.

Other Thoughts: I was putting a hard drive in and accidentally used a toothed screw, kind of scratched off the paint on that hdd mounting point, i was devastated, but i got over it pretty fast.

1 out of 5 eggsGood case, easy to assembly

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: $59.99

Cons: It is a good case and easy to assemble except newegg sent me one that was dent on the top edge so the left panel doesnt close flush.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Case for the Price

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: This case has great airflow, with room for up to eight fans (seven 120mm and one 140/120mm side fan). It's light-weight and fairly compact, making it great for carrying to LAN parties. It also supports graphics cards up to 320mm in length, such as the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 (312mm in length). For the price, this case is definitely a must-buy.

Cons: At this price, you have to cut a few corners, sadly. This case could have definitely been better if it were a little taller; it would have been nice to have holes in the top of the motherboard backplate for an eight-pin motherboard cable. The drive cage is also completely immovable, due to being attached with rivets, which means if your graphics card exceeds 320mm, you are out of luck. There also isn't much room for cables behind the backplate.

Other Thoughts: Despite all of my minor complaints, I am mostly satisfied with this case. I say buy it.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent case for the price point

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: Excellent airflow with 8 fan mounting points, the included fans are very quiet. The bottom mounted ssd option was great because it left all the drive bays open for airflow. Exterior looks really nice.

Cons: I couldn't install the rearmost top fan because it blocks the 8 pin aux motherboard power socket.

Other Thoughts: Cable management is about non existent. But it did include 10 zip ties which let me get it respectably tidy by bundling them to holes in the case .

3 out of 5 eggsRecessed motherboard tray blocks Z97-Pro SATA ports

This review is from: Cooler Master N400 NSE-400-KKN2 N-Series- Mid Tower Computer Case with ATX Motherboard Support, Multiple 240mm Radiator Support, and Ventilated Front Panel

Pros: Price, 2 very quiet fans with long cables and detachable MOLEX pass-through adapters, flat top (with hole grid, no fan) for putting your stuff on, lots of screws, includes cool little Phillips slot cylinder that slips over the hex brass m/b spacer mounts (forgetting the proper name) for driving them in.

Cons: UNUSABLE with an ASUS Z97-Pro motherboard!
"HORRIBLE", as others have said. UNFORTUNATE for CoolerMaster.

The recessed area for the motherboard is barely bigger than the mother board and blocks the lower row of SATA ports. This includes 1 of the 2 ports in the black block (vs. gray) that aren't SATAexpress. UNAVOIDABLE, UNFIXABLE without sawing up the plate.

Instructions show the wrong illustrations and count for some screws and parts. e.g. Hex head screws for mother board are shown as round head.

Other Thoughts: Bought locally at a computer super store. (Friend needed easy returns, et al.)
A motherboard speaker is included in the accessory bag.
Except for having to return it, I was very happy with this case.
ASUS Z97-Pro (WiFi ac)
