5 out of 5 eggsA greater server cooler for my 2011-V3 and XEONs

Pros: Fits great in a 4U rackmount case. Professional looking (vs looking like some Overclocker's toy). As stated, fits well with RAM. Blows rearward towards the back of your case vs Intel's stock cooler which blows up but not out.

Cons: none at all, does what it is asked to.

Other Thoughts: I have installed 3 of these so far. One on a dual Xeon rig, and another in a 2011-V3 server, both in Rosewill 4U rackmount cases. Not a single problem during the install. And doesn't take up too much space. A good alternative for your professional server builds.

5 out of 5 eggsBest value

Pros: Great performance for cost. Well designed, does not interfere with DIMMs. Fits in my miniATX case (Antec). A great step up from "stock" fans. CPU runs cool.

Cons: Tall, may not fit in short cases.

Other Thoughts: Some reviews have talked about a cheap fan but the one that came with my unit is quiet and normal for this price point. Added a duct to the fan to vent directly out the side of my case. Also replaced the included heat paste with Artic Silver (use on all my builds). Use a razor blade to apply a smooth thin film.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler Great Value

Pros: Fits Perfectly in a mid-tower ATX case. Others on this site would have been too big. Can be mounted in any orientation to customize air flow through the heatsink. Not super heavy either.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I always use my own arctic silver thermal paste. It came with something like they usually do smeared on the bottom, but as with all coolers, I suggest wiping off that generic thick stuff and use your own for best results.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes an OK job

Pros: Once I figures I need 3x120mm to flow my case right this thing was fine. It would vapor better in a lay down but Dyna put a dog leg in the base to up channel the vapor as it must.

The regular HSF Intel was a total fail so this pup made me a hour afte rhousr Borderlands 2 fan again after I went from an i7 3820 up to a i7 3930 pegged mildly around 4.0Ghz somewhere....some brief 4.4Ghz spikes on occassion but Borderlands 2 using 3.GHz and like 90w. in PerfMon using charting. Casual gaming.

I do not freak at 60C. That is OK with me. 50C to 60C . I

Cons: Could do better

Other Thoughts: I do not worry about a degree or two after the Prescott bologna/flap as most CPUs run 70C with out much trouble really. I do not say you should do that.

5 out of 5 eggsdynatron r17 lga 2011 cpu cooler

Pros: Preset screws. No overtightening possible. No off alignment either. Wonderful quality as well for the cost. Have purchased 2 for 2 separate Intel i7 lga 2011 builds. No cons, the fan is easily detached for cleaning and install. Buy this cooler if you aren't looking to put out a lot of money for liquid cooling. Then when you want the liquid cooling by all means, but you will have not invested a whole lot in your temp cooler. It will be quality for that time.

Cons: none.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat heatsink, poor fan

Pros: I bought this originally to use on a Supermicro X9SRI-F in a Norco 3216 3U case; however, I decided to use the motherboard in a Lian Li PC-9NB with a E5-1650V2, so though I could go bigger, I decided to use it. I ended up getting a X9DRI-F to use in the Norco with two E5-2620V2 with two Dynatron R27 (had to order direct from Dynatron as no one carries it yet). I also ordered a Dynatron K17 to use in a HTPC build with a E3-1230V3. The HTPC case requires a short heatsink, which explains all of the Dynatron purchases.

Anyway, the actual heatsink for the R17, R27, K17 appear to be high quality units. The fans, on the other hand, not so much...one fan was broken on arrival. I removed the plastic bracket that the fan housing snaps onto and built a cardboard duct from the heatsink to the 120mm rear case fan (Noctua NF-P12).

With the stock fan the CPU idled at 45C. After ducting the heatsink and venting the hot air out of the case, the CPU idles at 22C. Ran Prime95 to stress test with 65C being the highest temp seen.

Cons: The fan is junk.

4 out of 5 eggsGood cooler

Pros: It's a heat sink. What more can I say. It works on my i7 quad core with hyper thread, just fine. I don't overclock, because at the speeds it runs by default, I don't see a need in it. But, if your OC'ing, I'd assume you were using liquid cooling anyway.

Cons: None

3 out of 5 eggsSufficient for a cool room

Pros: Excellent price. Easy installation. Excellent fan mount (rubberized for vibration/noise cancellation) Good design. Copper heat pipes throughout.

Cons: With fan at normal idle speed temperature on a stock I7-3930K were ~60 Celsius. Setting fan speed to 90% minimum speed brought temperatures to ~38 Celsius. However this made the fan quite audible.

Other Thoughts: Worth the extra coin to go water cooled. If you just bought a $600+ processor dont skimp on the cooling, especially if you plan to even modestly overclock.
