Compared to the Spectre Fan Series, the Spectre Pro PWM comes with an all-new design and enhanced performance. The high-pressure CFM design is controlled by PWM technology for finer speed control - perfect for high-performance CPU coolers. Its unique dual-ring construction helps to dampen vibrations, resulting in less noise. Reinforced fan blades prevent warping at high RPM levels, while focused airflow ensures that cool air can reach all of your installed components. With FDB technology for low noise and long life, and availability in both solid black and solid white variants, the Spectre Pro PWM is the new gold standard in performance CPU-cooling fans.

  • newegg PWM Technology True to its namesake, the Spectre Pro PWM uses pulse width modulation technology to adjust fan speeds. This technology enables your system to control your cooling with much greater precision than conventional linear voltage fans, making them perfect for CPU coolers.
  • newegg High Pressure/CFM Design Engineered for maximum pressure and airflow, Spectre Pro PWM delivers a torrent of air that will keep your CPU cool, even when the action heats up.
  • newegg Dual-Ring Construction With its dual-ring construction, Spectre Pro PWM fans not only offer aggressive looks, but also vibration-dampening properties to keep noise levels in check.
  • newegg Reinforced Fan Blades High rotation speeds can actually warp fan blades while in motion, resulting in more turbulence and noise. The Spectre Pro PWM features reinforced fan blades that resist warping, even when spinning at high speeds for maximum cooling performance.
  • newegg Silent Operation and Long Life The Spectre Pro PWM features fluid, dynamic-bearing technology for minimum noise and maximum operating life.
  • newegg Two Color Versions No two setups are alike, which is why the Spectre Pro PWM comes in both solid black and solid white versions.

2 out of 5 eggs"Long Life" ?

Pros: Relatively quiet (i.e. not the loudest)
Moved a good amount of air (not the most)

Cons: Relatively expensive
Did not have a long life as the specifications suggested

Other Thoughts: Use: Case fan in "always on" home server
Lifetime: about 16,000 hours (22 months)
Mode of Failure: Fan stuck, case overheated, power supply sacrificed itself so that the rest of the build might live
Remarks: Fan stuck "hard" -- could not move with finger - did not hear fan "going bad", it died silently (the one time you want a loud fan!)
Thumb rule violation: should get at least 1,000 operational hours per dollar spent on fan. This fan didn't make it.
Suggestion to (other) Owners: If you use this fan in a server, and it's getting on in years, you might want to power down and try spinning by hand to measure resistance. Am not sure how long my fan had been "going," as last maintenance period (during which all fans are spun by hand) was 4 months ago, and things seemed fine, then.

1 out of 5 eggsWhat are you people thinking?

Pros: It looks pretty

Cons: This fan does not have threaded screw holes, but there is no mention of that in the description.

Other Thoughts: I bought this specifically for my Prodigy case's top fan slot. This fan is not compatible at all with this because (even though they sent screws with the fan) you can only use the rubber what ever you call thems that don't allow you to close the case top. Now I get to play fan swap inside my case when this should have been a very simple remove and replace. Next time I'm sticking with my cheap $5 fans that I've always used before because at least with those I know what I'm going to get.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Quiet at lower RPM's. Black 4 pin PWM cable, plus comes with an adapter to use on a 2 or 3 pin header. Fluid dynamic bearing should help it last awhile.

Cons: Makes a fair amount of sound as the RPM's come up. Not excessive, like a powerful Delta, but you can hear it. Using it to replace a Delta on my air cpu cooler, temps increased quite a bit.I suspect it is lacking a little in air pressure. Probably better suited for use as a case fan rather than a cooler fan. Had to remove the plastic between the screw holes with a Dremel to use the cooler fan clips. The glossy black plastic makes it seem rather cheap to me. I've bought other fans for less that had higher quality.

Other Thoughts: Will probably not buy another. There are better fans available for less money.

3 out of 5 eggsNot impressed

Pros: they're quiet on low to medium speeds.

Cons: not much air is being moved. my temps jumped up 10-15 degrees Celsius on my radiator after switching to these fans.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend these fans and advise someone who is looking for fans for water cooling to look else where.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: These things are awesome, Can barely hear them at max speed, at idle they are impossible to hear unless your ear is right up next to it.
Cable is perfect length to reach anywhere neatly.

Cons: Didn't come with grill?

Other Thoughts: Got two of these for a special air duct build, great investment.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, Quality Fan!

Pros: High quality, super quiet, PWM 4-pin so unless I'm under full load I can't even hear it! I actually had to check to make sure the fan was working when I first installed it. Power cable is nice & long so it reached the SYS_FAN connector without an issue. 70+ CFM @ full load so I know this thing can move some air.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I can't see many more fans performing this well for the price. As I mentioned above, it's super quiet and moves a ton of air!

3 out of 5 eggsAbove average performance

Pros: The fans have a clean black design. The PWM control to be used with cpu fan connector on mother board is a positive as I control all my other fans with my fan controller. It appears to have decent air pressure as I'm using it with my 240 xspc radiator on my custom water loop.

Cons: The specs on this fan do not seem to match up with some of the fans I've used up to this point (and I've gone through quite a few fans recently). It is very quiet until you hit full blast then you can hear it well (still not as bad as Corsair SP120 High Performance fans as those sound like an airplane engine). One thing threw me off about this fan is that it is more quiet standing vertically than horizontally (when arranged at the top of my case, they were noticeablly louder than when I moved my radiator to the front intake). More like a whining sound when horizontal but still bearable. The air pressure is okay but I expected better air pressure (unless this fan is at full blast, it does not force a great deal of air through the radiator in my experience when compared to some other radiator fans I have).

Other Thoughts: If you get these fans on sale like I did (were only $11 each on Newegg with special discount code and free shipping) these fans are a pretty good deal (decent air pressure and quiet at low RPMs). The issue is if you buy these as quiet fans for your radiator, when they rev up when you need them during gaming session or other high cpu load conditions, the fan speed ramps up and gets pretty loud at 1800 RPM (not just noise from the air flow, it's the motor). The noise to performance ratio doesn't appear to balance out to me (when running at a silent speed, there hardly no air being pushed through the radiator). Buy them if they are on sale. Not a bad fan, just didn't meet my expectations for my custom loop.

5 out of 5 eggsBlows Pro's

Pros: Great fan and super quiet. The fan was installed on my Corsair CORSAIR Hydro Series H50 Q/E Liquid CPU Cooler.
The Fluid Dynamic Bearings and the 26.1dB make it a true winner along with a 4 pin WPM connector.
The balck edition is perfect for my Black Thermaltake CA-1B5-00M1WN-00 Case.
It was installed instead of the stock fan that came with the cooler as i wanted a better fan for the job at hand.
Can't go wrong with this fan - a real winner.

Cons: Did not come with a Free CORSAIR Hydro Series H50

Other Thoughts: Makes a great fan for just a case fan if you want Quite and controllability. Made very well and i would like to be able to afford to put in 4 more, but they are not buy one get one Free. lol

5 out of 5 eggsNice and silent

Pros: I at first have never used bitfenix but this fan was easy to I install. I used the rubber screws that came with it instead and it works great a few days in on a newly built system.

Cons: No instructions. When I got the spectre pro I had no instructions on what the rubber screws where or how to use them. If a new pic builder is just starting they won't know either unless they go on YouTube and find a video. I never used rubber screws before I always used the rubber rings with the regular screws. But now that I know I like the rubber screws best.

5 out of 5 eggsPhenominal

Pros: Quiet, min RPM is ~570 at 12V with PWM. No ticking or weirdness, just works. Dead silent, especially at idle. Keeps my 3570K @4.2GHz with CNPS10X extreme at 75C...at <700RPM!!!

There's not much secret sauce in fans, if it's spinning fast it's loud. The non-pwm version is great too, but PWM lets you control case fans with the CPU temp.

Cons: Hard to find? Included screws aren't self-tapping so it's hard to screw them in the first time. A noise-reducing adapter could have been included, but with PWM on they're slow already.

Other Thoughts: A great blend of silence, performance, aesthetics, and value. Includes optional rubber mounts for super quick mounting. Cord is ~14", and all black. If I was decking out a case with 120mm or 140mm fans, Spectre Pros are a great, and cheap!
