5 out of 5 eggsGreat Replacement For The North Bridge Fan

Pros: My EVGA x58 SLI North Bridge Fan Died Probably Because I Overcloacked The Motherboard To High So I Had To Replace It. This Little Fan Does The Job Really Well. I Did Not Plug It To The Motherboard But To The Power Supply Cause It Has Its Own Temperature Sensor. It Pushes The Air Through My Custom CPU Heatsink Fan Cause There Is No Other Option. All Temps Are Great Now. If I Want A Better North Bridge Temp I Can Reapply Thermal Paste Onto The North Bridge.

Cons: I Added 3 New 120MM, 1 New 80MM Rosewill and This 60MM Vantec Fans. So My Case Is Louder Than Ever, But I Can`t Blame On Only This Little Fan. It Produces Noise, But It Does Its Job Right.

Other Thoughts: The Heatsink On My North Bridge Is Not The Standard 40MM, It Is A Bit Bigger, Around 60-70MM, So This 60MM Fan Was The Perfect Fit For Mine. You Should Mesure Your Heatsink To Find Which One Is The Best Option.

2 out of 5 eggsNoisy

Pros: Works. I'm sure they would do the job where noise is not an issue.

Cons: Loud.

5 out of 5 eggsMoves good amount of air

Pros: This fan moves considerably more air than the stock fans that came with my nMedia HTPC case.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: A must have upgrade if the fans that came in your case don't move enough air.

3 out of 5 eggsit lasted 2 years 4 months and 17 days

Pros: Was quiet with decent airflow

Cons: It lasted 2 years 4 months and 17 days
It's noticeably loud now. Sounds like a bearing went out.
I have other fans 80mm that outlasted it.
Maybe I'm just expecting to much out of this 60mm fan.

Other Thoughts: I bought this fan on 4/21/2010
Today is 9/8/2012 and it sounds like a bearing has gone out. It has run in a small home server 24/7 for 2 years 4 months and 17 days.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Fan

Pros: This fan has good air movement, speed adjustment based on temp, and silent.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have two of these; one each attacked to a north bridge heat sink on two of my nforce 780i motherboards. They replaced the stock fans that came with the boards. They lowered the temps by several degrees further than the stock fans and weren't has loud. They have two connection points for power, a 3 pin and a molex connector. How it is as a case fan, I couldn't tell you but works wonders on my two MBs. My first one have been going strong for about 3 years now.

3 out of 5 eggsBought 2, 1 was dead on arrival

Pros: At least one worked.

Cons: Batting .500 is great in baseball. Not so much if you're an electronics producer.

3 out of 5 eggsLouder than expected

Pros: I like the concept of a temperature controlled case fan.

Cons: I bought two for the price of one. Even at low speed, they are as loud as the 23 year old Elina fans they replace, while putting out much less air. The sound of the Vantecs I received has more of a "rattling" quality to it than the Elinas, which have more of a "roaring" sound. The rattling sound makes Vantecs sound older than the Elinas are.

5 out of 5 eggsNo joke

Pros: Vantec quality, starts low speed and ramps up when the heat is on love this feature because 60mm fans are generally loud. motherboard monitor cable a plus,

Cons: Closed or boxed-in screw channels were an issue for my application but with a little modification they cut out easy and it didn't change acoustics or fan operation so Vantec could have left it open. would have loved to see this come with a metal guard because its rotating quick at high speed; lose a fingertip.

Other Thoughts: I narrowed down the decision to buy this fan because its quiet when it needs to be, but the closed in screw channels made it a problem for my use (side clipped). Might not be a problem for someone mounting as an intake/exhaust

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and Effective

Pros: Replaced one noisy case fan for my HTPC with two of these. Can't even hear them - only my stock CPU fan - which is next to go. I couldn't be happier!

Cons: Well, they're not free... and they don't make toast!

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't hesitate to buy these again. In fact, I'll probably add another when I upgrade the cpu fan!
