2 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: Cheap, Modular.

Cons: The PSU seems to give off a lot of electrical interference which is picked up by my speakers in the form of a buzzing sound. The further I move the speaker wire away from the PSU I can eliminate the buzzing. The PSU is not stable at higher watts/load. Running an i5 4670K, GTX 970, 8 GB PC 1866, SSD, HDD, DVD, H60, 4 Case fans, really seems to push the PSU. Under load my 12V rail is really unstable, the lowest I've witnessed it drop was 11.702. I'm running a mild overclock at 4GHZ, but the CPU is requiring 1.265 Volts to be stable, I suspect its due to unstable power levels. I am replacing this PSU with a Corsair CS650M.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat customer support

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: - great value @$50 (with $15 rebate).
- modular connectors, so my setup is clutter-free which helps with internal air circulation.
- it's quiet and delivers stable power when it works (see more in "other thoughts")
- 80plus bronze certification

Cons: - blue LED cannot be turned off.
- stopped working intermittently; it would work again after I disconnected all connectors

Other Thoughts: as stated in "Cons", power supply would stop working at random times. After shutting down, I would go to turn the system on again but it would randomly fail to power up. After disconnecting the connectors it would fire up again, and then work without any problems until the next random failure.
I contacted RaidMax about the problem, they issued an RMA instantly (same day). I asked them if they were going to try to fix my intermittent problem (which would most likely result in them not being able to replicate the problem) or if they were just going to send me a replacement.

They sent a replacement without question, and they did it within 2 days of receipt. I sent my old unit in on Tuesday and had the replacement in my hands by Friday.

I should note that their facility is nearby so the transit time was only 1 day each way, but my main point is that their customer support is top class.

5 out of 5 eggsWorking perfectly

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: After easily installing this PSU I was impressed at how quiet it is, how nice the lighting is, I liked the weight and sturdiness and found the noise levels to be right on.

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: There was an order problem on this drive and Newegg was nice to send it to me free of charge after it was removed from a combo deal. Thanks Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsRAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: -Price per Watt was really good deal when I made this purchase!
-Bronze Certification
-Modular cables were really nice. Combined with the right case, a technician can really implement some cable management. The bluish-black sleeves are a nice touch.
-Blue LED is a soft glow, nice addition to the unit. I use Corsaid white LED fan cases, so the blue glow of the PSU is kinda like my systems Heart ;]

Cons: None thus far!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cheap PSU

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: 80 Plus Bronze, modular, good amount of power for the price, quiet, has pretty blue lights

Cons: Nothing. What isn't to like?

Other Thoughts: I'm using this in what I call a mid range energy efficient gamer. It is supporting an i5-4590S, R9 270X, Crucial MX100 SSD, Seagate 500GB, DVD Burner, and WACOM Intuos 3 tablet. This thing seems to have plenty of power to spare. That is more than I can say for my old system that the DVD drive would loose power if I plugged in the WACOM tablet. That was a 530W Antec with a Phenom II 945, Radeon 4890, Intel SSD, and 3 HDDs. Overall this is a great upgrade and uses half the power.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

This review is from: RAIDMAX RX-635AP 635W ATX 12V v2.3/EPS 12V SLI CrossFire 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Power Supply

Pros: These work great, look great, have great cable management, all with a good price. I will prob get another for my other PC.

Cons: NONE! D-:<

Other Thoughts: Always get a higher watt one then you need. So that when you upgrade/or add other things, you don't have to replace it..
