1 out of 5 eggsNOT Quite!!!!!

Pros: Will fit in a 1U case. You get a nice heavy piece of copper, although what you will do with it when you replace them because you are tired of not being able to hear yourself think. There are just so many better options now...why even bother with these?

Cons: LOUD...poor cooling. I got these as they were the onlt ones I could get. I built my computer as soon as the boards and chips were available. I originally had 2 of the 2 GHz 8 core Magnet-Cours processors. They ran at over 60 deg. cent. when doing just about anything but idling and I had the Bios set on Whisper mode. As soon as the temp climbed as it ALWAYS did it was like having two little jet engines winding up. They are LOUD, very loud. I replaced them with Noctuas and the temps dropped to the low 20's and the noise fell as far. Don't bother with these unless you have no other choice or your computer is in a room down the hall. 55dB per fan is a conservative number. With both going it was as loud as a Stereo turned up to the point where you would have to turn it down to answer the phone. I can't believe they let them go to market. You do get a nice heavy hunk of copper though :)

Other Thoughts: I wasn't going to write a review, but after reading the others...

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: These are for 1U servers.
IDLE temp of 41C
100% Load Temp of 62C

Cons: Very Loud at 100% load...

Other Thoughts: If your case is big enough use the Noctua NH-U12DO A3 (120x120x158mm) or Noctua NH-U9DO A3...
Or for a 2U the Dynatron A6..

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

Pros: Very quiet, and efficient coolers, I'm using it with a 6212 processor, and have no problems with heat even when I have all 16 cores going full-bore. I haven't had better coolers in any of my machines.

Cons: none so far
