4 out of 5 eggsGood buy.

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Keeps the system cool. Fairly simple and straightforward to install.

Cons: It is pretty loud compared to my last cooling system (although I am not bothered by it). I had some struggles fitting it into my case, the case says it fits the radiator, but some of the dimensions of the cooler I ended up having to work around( I blame this more on the case than I do the cooler).

Other Thoughts: Good buy, good cooler. Double check your dimensions before making the purchase or you may be forced into a corner you may not want to be in.

5 out of 5 eggsBest $100 I've spent in awhile

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: I was coming from an Antec 1200 case I have had for years. I was tired of all the fans and dust that thing collected. So I decided to change cases. I went with the Corsair 540 because of the separate layout for the PSU. I love this new case. I also installed H100i. After boot and installing everything I needed. I started to stress test my machine. I'm get Idle temps of around 15-18c on my AMD FX 8350 at 4.0GHZ Black @ Standard clock. Under 100% load it did not go past 30c. Compared to stock AMD cooler I was Idle around 40c and under load would be around 70c. Amazing product. Pretty easy to install. Corsair Link is actually a nice software program if you read the tool tips and set it up. I have had it just setup for the night but so far I'm impressed. I have this setup as an exhaust also

Cons: Only cons I had was get the thing mounted. I don't know if the screw holes were not bored correctly. I had to screw in the screws and unscrew them a few time for each one to get them into place tight. Also when connecting the fans, they have a guard over the pins that I had to google. Not something you would expect.

Other Thoughts: System Specs.

1 out of 5 eggsCorsair H100i

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Easy install.

Cons: After little use for both work and play, this product failed miserably with in a year. Fans in unit began to run extremely high. CPU temp shot to 80 degrees plus after initial CPU fan error. Due to hassle of returning for a replacement, I have purchased a top rated heat sink for a third of the cost. Do not buy into the hype of liquid cooling.

4 out of 5 eggsCould be improved

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Not too expensive,works.

Cons: Not really cons, but things that need improving.
Instruction manual
Better thermal paste (I used Arctic Silver 5)
Corsair link (IMPO,it totally sucks) The led doesn't stay the same color,Hard to tell which temps are what, doesn't keep the settings. Nothing about the software is useful.

Other Thoughts: My Build
Case- Rosewill Thor v2
Mobo- Asus Z97 Pro-Gamer
CPU- i5 4690k
Cooler- Corsair H100i
Video- PNY gtx750
SSD- Intel seris 530 240GB
Mem- G.Skill Sniper 8 GB

I have the cpu OC'd at 4.1 Ghz. My idle temps are in the mid to high 30's C. Fully loaded in the high 60's to mid 70's C. My room isn't hot by no means, not cool either. I expected better performance from this since the reviews were so good. This is the 1st Corsair product I have bought and chances are my last.

1 out of 5 eggsdoes not fit CoolMaster, cable unknown

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: nice package, good design except for many issues.

Cons: many show stoppers:
1. cooler does not match the holes in Coolmaster Elite 431 Plus
2. fans cannot be mounted inside the case because one hits the RAM module, other hits the rear USB connector. interference in both is about .25"--a lot. I mounted one outside but only one screw lines up. mounted one fan inside but only one screw lines up--it's awful.
3. Y-cable with 2 female 4 pin housings do not plug in anywhere, and these provide power doe the fans. I'm stuck, will have to cut the wires and make my own cable, once I figure it out. don't know the pinout or the voltage--awful. orderd the H100i but received H100i-R, Corsair website says H100i-R means refurbished.

Other Thoughts: they say mount the cpu cooler, than plug in the USB and Y fan power cable. it is impossible to plug in these cables unless you somehow knew the cpu cooler had to oriented correctly. so I had to remove the cpu cooler, rotate the cooler head 90 degrees, and of course they say "if you remove the heatsink paste wipe it off and apply your own." so now my heatsink paste is ruined.
THEN one finds out the Y-cable 4 pin female housing does not plug into anything anywhere. The One who wrote the Bible made hammers so you can pound a bad product to fit the trash can.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic!

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Effective
Quiet
Useful Extensions
Great Aesthetics.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is a very effective and simple cooling system. I've overclocked my i5 to 4.0 GHz, and with an ambient temperature of 25-30C, it didn't pass 49C under load. The Corsair Link is also very useful as it allows you to monitor all of your various temperatures, including GPU and HDD. You can also change the LED color on the pump with various affects, including temperature reactive.

4 out of 5 eggsI’m sure it’s great, but…

This review is from: CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler. 240mm

Pros: Nice looking
.
Corsair Link software is supposed to be pretty nice nowadays. I read that it sucked up until a couple months ago when they released a new version.

Seems like it should be pretty simple to install.

It probably does a really great job of cooling.

I’ll give it four eggs because I like the product even though it wouldn’t have been right for my build.

Cons: Mine was defective. A screw hole in the aluminum radiator was either stripped or had no threads, just a hole. Screw would not tighten or stay in the hole.

Was missing another small but critical part that I’m sure could have been mailed out to me quickly if that was the only problem.

Note that this was a new item, still factory-sealed and shrink-wrapped. Not a refurb or an open-box.

Other Thoughts: These defects probably were a blessing for me though, since it would not have fit nicely into my Fractal Define R4 case. It would fit but it would have to be removed anytime I needed to get at the RAM DIMMS. So It’s probably best that I returned it to Newegg for a refund, which they handled so efficiently. I love dealing with Newegg. Thankfully I did not send in the rebate form before trying to build it.

I was really looking forward to using this in my new build and was just SURE it would fit since the Fractal Design Define R4 is SO roomy inside. But it’s not roomy enough up-top to fit this thing in there comfortably. So, make sure your case has enough clearance up-top for this thing. I could have used a 120mm model in the top-rear of this case, no problem. Something to think about…

Once I got the thing half-way put together and found the defect in the radiator, I decided that maybe this water-cooling stuff is just over-rated anyway and went with the Cooler Master 212 EVO and built it with quieter PWM fans in a push-pull config. It’s working really nicely, keeping the CPU (AMD FX 8370) at 20C idle and rarely exceeding 50C under sustained maximum load. I wound up spending about the same money with the extra fans and probably got similar performance.

No problem with Corsair, though. They make good stuff. I just got a defective item this time. It happens. It’s probably a good thing, too, because I would not have been happy with the poor fit of the H100i over the long run, anyway. FWIW, I am very happy with my new (refurb) Corsair AX760 Power Supply that I just put into this same build.
