Pros: The good: The company honors the warranty

Cons: The bad: It will probably only work as a glorified stick welder.

Other Thoughts: I have done a lot of tig welding of aluminum and cromoly steel on aircrafts using the shop TIG welder. Wanted to have one for private use, and bought this, and here is the story:
1. Unit arrived, and only one of the foot pedal connectors would fit (completely wrong connector). The function of the foot pedal became on/off, not continuous. I took the unit to the company, and asked for a pedal compatible with the welder. The technicians insisted this was a feature, not a defect, but I insisted on a pedal that could vary the current, and they found a new box with a pedal with the right connectors. I cringed when I watch them carry the heavy foot pedal around by the thin cord.
2. With the new unit, the arc started easily with the HF, and I could do AC TIG with argon. Problem was that when I stopped, I had to turn the whole unit off and on to get it to start again. Initially the company claimed it stopped working due to overheat, and would not resolve. I demonstrated that it failed on 30A after 4 seconds on a cold machine. The machine was replaced with #3
3. I really wanted this to work, and the start was good. Good HF arc start every time, good control of current with pedal, but could not get argon to the torch. I replaced the flow control with a control with a ball indicator to verify argon flow. Increased from 7 to 20 cu.feet/hr. Still no argon. The valve opens, and argon flows, but no cover to the weld. Try to find leaks, without success.
4. I take the #3 welder back to the company, and at this time, I do not want to experiment any more. Material, argon, flow control etc and driving has already costed me a lot. I tell them I only want it to work. I leave the welder with a bar of 6061 aluminium, some filler rod, and we agree the technician will test it. He will make a little weld on the aluminum so I can see it works.
5. 5 days later I am told it is in perfect working condition, and I can come and get it. When I arrive, the aluminium bar is clamped to a step ladder outside the warehouse. Some pearls of aluminum is stuck to the oxidized bar. Nothing at all has worked. Nobody seems to know what the technician has done, and he is not there. I tell them I need to see a welded aluminum bead, and the 6061 material and 4043 filler is the easiest to weld with. I am puzzled why they did not bother to check this at all. I am puzzled they keep selling it when their own technician can not get it to work. They should be able to resolve this between the factory and their technician.

We agree they will allow me to return it with a restocking fee. I am out over $1000 on tig welding supplies from argon, regulator, table, filler rods, tungsten, masks, gloves etc, and no welder.

They are still selling this, and they have no idea how to make it work at all. Don't expect them to be around to support the product or the warranty for long. A waste of money and time.
