4 out of 5 eggsGET THE DVI-D CABLE!!!

Pros: Nice size, similar to having 2 19" monitors side by side without the annoying center bezel.
Can run 2 video sources at the same time.
Audio is not too bad.
Nice settings control.
Comes with a cool application that lets you nicely fit programs on to pre-determined sections of the screen.

Cons: I almost RMA mine back thinking it was broken until I used it with the DVI-D cable.

To take advantage of the 2560x1080 resolution you MUST get the DVI-D cable or use the DPort input.
I used the supplied HDMI cable and noticed that for some reason after my computer was turned off the fans were spinning still and the mouse light was dimmed. It looks like the monitor sends power to the computer, maybe some design failure? My video card (GTX 750Ti) must not block that and was sending power to the motherboard. I switched to the old style DVI-I cable I was using before and I was getting video, but it was all snowy with a pink overlay. This was corrected by using a DVI-D cable as Mark C. mentioned on his review. With the DVI-D cable linux now recognizes the 2560x1080 resolution, it didn't when I was using the HDMI cable, although on windows I was able to do 2560x1080 with the HDMI cable, but had to unplug it after turning the computer, off which was super annoying.

Other Thoughts: It is a nice size monitor, kind of expensive, but I think it is worth it. I had seen some reviews online and wanted to give it a try. It is a keeper, I just wish I didn't have to buy extra components to get it to work correctly.

1 out of 5 eggsToo many problems with this monitor - Avoid it.

Pros: Very nice ultrawide view screen, light, easy to install. Easy to use OSD menu.

Cons: Monitor will not allow full RGB settings and it has bad issues with frame skipping on videos unless you maximize the screen. LG support will literally put you on hold and hung up on you before they bother assisting you.

Black colors are extremely dark and white color extremely bright. I'm aware this kind of monitor has different color processing than others but this is outright absurd. You end up having to choose whether the dark colors make the whole screen impossible to see or have the white colors burn your retinas. Neither monitor nor video card nor windows settings change this behavior.

Resolution on the monitor is 2560x1080 native at 60hz and using any other setting results in a horrid display... monitor will either stretch image to comic levels or compress it in really weird formats.

Finally, for a 34 inch monitor it is sad to see the vertical viewing area was reduced to that of a 24 inch monitor. The 'ultrawide' is really nothing more than a 'trade height for width and charge them lots of money for it' scheme.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this monitor for anything other than office work. The color issue makes gaming be impossible and video editing/art is out of the question. LG's nonexistent tech support does not help either.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Monitor

Pros: Very nice monitor! used to have a 27 inch monitor but this ultrawide screen is amazing for gaming.

Cons: some games dont support this resolution, not the monitors fault.

5 out of 5 eggsLG 34UM65 34" Monitor

Pros: I just received this monitor today and got it set-up. I bought this after reading many, many, many reviews. I will say that online pictures and videos do NOT do the size of this monitor justice! It really is HUGE.

I am coming from a 27" Samsung monitor and this honestly feels much much better. It really does have the feel of having two side by side monitors without the bezels in the way. I thought the height of the monitor might bother me but it doesn't at all.

I also was surprised at how improved the the colors appear to be from my Samsung monitor. I expected the size boost of course, but the added sharpness and color depth really is a great and added bonus.

I will be using this monitor to play video games. So far I have tried out Battlefield 4 and had zero issues with getting the resolution to work perfectly. The game looks AMAZING in the wide format on my Nvidia 780 Graphics card with no real difference in FPS.

I was apprehensive about the price of this monitor but I must say, just from first impressions, I am even more impressed than I thought I would be. As long as there are no functioning issues in the coming weeks I will go ahead and say that this monitor is worth every penny.

It makes me feel like I'm playing video games on my personal movie screen. So far I'm extremely impressed.

Cons: The one con I have noticed so far is that the stand that comes with the monitor is a tad bit wobbly. If you have a cheapo desk with a little bit of wobble in it (like I do) it can get a tad bit annoying as the screen's stand wobble is amplified by the slight wobble of my desk. It isn't enough to really concern me, however you will need a nice sturdy movement free space to put the monitor on.

Other Thoughts: So in summary:

I will say that the price is high for this monitor, however if you are looking for a large screen as an alternative to getting dual monitors this is a great option for you.

I researched a ton of stats for 4k monitors, monitors with higher refresh rates, monitors with higher resolutions and higher refresh rates, low response times etc...etc....etc.... and most all of them were close to the same price (or higher) of this monitor. After the numbers confusion in the tiny little differences of each monitor I finally went for one that I felt I would be able to see the most noticeable impact and I think I did well!

If you are looking into buying this monitor I would say give it a shot, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

5 out of 5 eggsCinematic Experience at your desk

Pros: Having bought this 34" Ultrawide LG LED LCD Display panel back in early May of 2014 makes me one of the first few in the country to own one of this model. This is a successor to two other LG 27" monitors that I previously owned and was very happy with. After 4 months, all I can say is wow! The specifications speak for themselves: 2560x1080 resolution, 2 HDMI, 1 DVI, 1 Displayport, Split screen with 2 computers on one monitor, and some nifty software that auto-arranges windows on the screen perfectly. If you don't like its arrangement schemes or its behavior irks you, you can disable the program easily by right clicking the tray icon in Windows to disable the program features. The best thing about this monitor is watching anamorphic widescreen movies that have an aspect ratio of approximately 2.35:1 which is the aspect ratio of this screen. The movie takes up every square inch of the screen with no black bars on top and bottom like a typical 1080p (1920x1080) widescreen monitor. On the other hand, when you watch movies or episodes of a modern TV series that are presented in standard widescreen format with an aspect ratio of ~1.85:1 you will have vertical black bars to the right and left of the picture instead of Horizontal black bars on top and bottom. Oh yeah, did I mention the rich color depth of this screen, it will surely dazzle anyone.

Cons: After using this monitor about a month I noticed that my fans in my computer were running at really low speed when the system was powered down and even with the power cord unplugged from the PC power supply. I had a voltage backflow into the system from the HDMI cord which was plugged into the HDMI 1 port on the monitor. This killed my ethernet and two of my usb ports. Not gonna knock an egg off the rating because I'm not 100% sure that the monitor is the culprit. The video card could be the problem. HDMI and DVI are bi-directional so maybe the video card let some voltage pass back into the motherboard. Changing to a DVI-D dual-link cable eliminated this problem. On that note; make sure you use a DVI-D dual link cable if DVI is your preferred interface because an older DVI cable will not work for resolutions over 1080p at least not with any kind of acceptable image quality.

Other Thoughts: This screen is 34" measured diagonally but it's height is exactly the same as a standard 27" widescreen. The 34" diagonal measure gives you more width which is why they call it an "Ultrawide".

My system:
Intel P67 Chipset
Intel Core i5 2500K CPU
Windows 7 - 64-bit with SP1

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Amazing picture! Ultra wide is the way to go. Games look unreal.

Cons: None! Not even price. It's worth every penny to me.

Other Thoughts: Coming off a Nvidia surround setup with 3 Asus monitors and 2 780's this monitor is by far a better setup. Sold my cards for 1 780ti and monitors for this LG 34" monitor. Able to play all games maxed while playing much smoother than the surround setup. I have been playing most games with Vsync on which helps a lot with any screen tearing and micro shutter. Surround setups have really nasty screen tearing and micro shutter with vsync on or off. All my games play very smooth. Hopes this helps anyone thinking about going with a surround setup. One card one amazing monitor is the way to go.

5 out of 5 eggs  Widescreen Bliss

Pros: It has plenty of space and my games play just as well as with my old dell monitor.
No need to upgrade video card if you are coming from 1920x1200
21:9 widescreen gaming is immersive, you will never go back to 16:9 or 16:10
Newegg ships fast!

Cons: There is some backlight bleeding, mainly in the lower left hand corner, but nothing that is a deal breaker.

Other Thoughts: A previous reviewer stated that it does not have HDMI in, that is incorrect. I use HDMI from my 760 gtx and everything works perfectly. I have been using my Dell 24in 16:10 1920x1200 Ultrasharp monitor for over 8 years. I wanted to move to a wider aspect ratio and 21:9 looked to fit the bill. I first looked at the 29in 2560x1080 but coming from the Dell, the width was great but it seemed too small vertically, I was losing almost 2in. I looked at the LG34um95 and it is truly a fantastic monitor but the much higher resolution would require me to upgrade my video card solution, if I wanted to continue to play my FPS games in the native res with the same eye candy turned on. So I ordered the LG34um64, and I'm glad I did. It is IMHO the perfect monitor. I was concerned going from 1200 to 1080 high that I was going to lose some resolution, but going from 1920 to 2560 wide, more then made up for it. If you love pc gaming and want to go widescreen, this monitor can't be beat for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome monitor

Pros: Huge!
Great Colors
Easy to set up, plug and play for my computer w/ Windows 8.1
Games run great in 21:9 running a R9 280x

Cons: Came with a HDMI cable but wish it had a DVI-D cable included. I had to go pick one up at a local store for 3 times the price I'd get one online since i didn't want to wait for one. If you order this monitor be sure to get a DVI-D dual link cable to take advantage of the full resolution.

Other Thoughts: I was on the fence between this and the 34UMP95 which is the same size with a QHD resolution. So far most of my games adjusted to the 2560 x 1080 resolution with no problem and look amazing.
