5 out of 5 eggsAffordable dual channel dash camera with reasonable quality.

Pros: This dash camera has dual channels that capture both the front and back image. It has automatic parking mode and it will start up whenever it sense a vibration. The video quality of the front camera at FHD is very good. The back camera is only 720p but the video quality is still acceptable. It has voice notification when it enters a different mode, at start up, or when the GPS is connected. When there is a severe shock such as in an accident, it will save the video in a different folder that would not be overwritten automatically. Videos are divided into 1 minute clips so the file size is manageable. Video files are in standard format that can be played with other program. There is an option to add the GPS module at a very affordable price. With the GPS, it shows the location of the video captured on a map and the driving speed as well. All the cables are sufficiently long to run from the front to the back or under the carpet.

Cons: There is no LCD display making the alignment during installation a bit difficult. The time setting is tricky. One have to set it with the program immediately before you insert the microSD back into the camera. The 16GB microSD would not keep much video on it and will overwrite the previous capture. I have already upgraded to a 32GB one and I may need a larger one later on. Video at night may be not very useful. The light contrast on video captured early in the morning or in the evening is not very good. You cannot see much details at all. There are not much setting one can change and any setting much be changed on a computer. The factory player program does not show good quality on a 1080p screen. The instruction manual can be better.

Other Thoughts: I got this dual channel dash camera a couple months ago. I found it very easy to install and operate. The instruction manual is okay and understandable although there is not much details in it. The video from day time is very good and the video from the night time in well illuminated area is acceptable. The light contrast would make license plate invisible at certain time of the day. Perhaps it is due to the resolution of my laptop, the play back quality using the factory player program is not as good as expected and the license plate is hard to read unless the car is within a short distance. Nevertheless, it looks a lot better on VLC player. VLC can display both channels simultaneously as well, but you have to use the original player to change settings. My car has a cigaret power port in the back that is always on which makes the parking mode installation super easy. The power adapter cable is long enough to route to the back of my car. I purchased the optional GPS module later on and it works well although the initial connection does take some time. Considering the price I paid, the quality of video, and the functionality of the camera, I give it 5 eggs even with some shortcomings.
