Pros: Sharp, fast, bokeh, looks great

Cons: None really. Some complain it's a little heavy but I usually carry a Canon 100-400 so this isn't a big deal for me.

Other Thoughts: I've read the reviews and wondered if this lens is as good as everyone says it is.

It is. It's an amazing piece of equipment and it's almost impossible to take a bad picture with it.

Pros: amazing! it is everything i expected it to be! and shipping was fast! just awesome! it is worth the money!

Pros: SUPER sharp. I don't know how they made it better than Version 1, but apparently they did. Amazing quality here. Build quality is rock solid.

Pros: Great in low light settings. Very sharp. The coating they put on the series two lenses really make the color pop, totally worth the extra $800 over series one.

Cons: a little heavy, you should get a monopod or tripod.

Other Thoughts: Canon also makes a 70-200 4L IS which about half the size and weight and lower in cost, but still not a replacement for this lens in my opinion.

Pros: Excellent image quality,superior build quality, and f2.8 with ZOOM!!!! Why buy prime when this lens can handle all~

Pros: Great lens!!! Wow, now only if it was lighter and not so big this would be my go to walk around lens. I love the IQ and bokeh this lens produces. I use my 16-35 2.8L and my 50 1.4 and my 24-105 4L> out of those I find myself never wanting to leave this lens. I will pick up an 85 1.2 but I might just pass, given enough room for compression this blows it away as in versatility. the IS gives you the option to hand hold in many situations you could not with the non-IS version.

Cons: Heavy, well you should just hit the gym a little more or curl this in the morning. Price, Wow really cannon 2300.00 well I guess I should be selling my services then I would not complain as much. It is like Apple products with quality and warranty come price. I cant have my cake and eat it, so I will not QQ to much about it.

Pros: Not enough time to give a proper review however beware newegg shipments and packages are not packed well

Cons: Wish the lense was not dropped serveral times by UPS overnight and wish newegg did a better job at packaging the lense.

Other Thoughts: The lense is great however, I will need to test it over the next week to make sure it is not broken. The package game in a brown box with only protection on one side inside the box. It looked like it was in a trash compactor. I dont see any broken glass on the lense but for 2300 you think they would protect it better

Pros: I took this to the galapagos islands and it was incredible. I was able to capture excellent pictures of animals in flight and nesting frigate birds, iguanas, sea lions, etc. Everyone on the ship was amazed at my pictures. I also used the canon version II 1.4 extender with this lens and I can't tell any degradation in quality.

I almost took my friends 100-400 but realized that the glass on this is better and with the 1.4 extender it was super sharp and fast. I was able to capture early morning mother and baby dolphins jumping in front of the ship. No one else could get these shots.

I waited a long time before getting this lens. I went thru the typical "its really heavy", "expensive", etc but I'm happy I'll keep this lens for 20 years!

Cons: price hurts. Weight will hurt some but I was okay with it. I never really used a tripod and rarely used my monopod b/c its so fast and sharp.

Pros: This lens takes razor sharp pictures in every situation. Low light, sports, portraits, and anything else. I had been using the 75-300 IS F/4.5-5.6 Canon lens, but was having difficulty with school gyms and their low light. This lens blows it out of the water! The lower aperature (F/2.8) has allowed me to drop my ISO down, as well as increase the shutter speed. Colors are richer and sharper. Lens is nearly silent, and auto focus is super fast.

Cons: This lens is heavy. And expensive. But the quality is unmatched, and the images it produces are outstanding.

Other Thoughts: If you are considering this lens as an upgrade, do it sooner rather than later. If you are thinking that it's too expensive, and a lessser lens will work 'just as well' you are wrong.

Pros: Amazing clarity. AF is insanely fast and accurate. Built like a brick s**thouse.

Cons: You can't blame your lens for lousy pics anymore.

Other Thoughts: It is heavy. Like really, really heavy. While you don't need a monopod with its excellent IS, your arms will be begging you for one.
