4 out of 5 eggsGood Lens

Pros: Decent priced lens

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Using lens on an E510.
Good lens, was concerned about how slow it was to focus and zoom until I updated the E510 firmware for the 150mm lens, after that zoomand focus were much faster, roughly equivalent to the Canon 250mm lens we use on a Canon XS.
When lens fully zoomed vibration/shake can be a problem. This is typical with all zoom lenses. Best used with a tripod, a monopod can help. But I do use it frequently without either and get satisfactory pictures. A remote shutter release would be a good investment for this lens as even clicking the shutter can cause vibration that affects the picture quality.
Focusing on a small object when fully zoomed can be a problem as the focal area is quite small and keeping the aiming dot on the target can be a problem.
All in all I am very satisfied with this lens, it has given excellent pictures when used on a tripod and I go very lightly on the shutter release. Used on a monpod or free hand the camera is much more susceptible to shake/vibrat

4 out of 5 eggsgood lens at this price

Pros: low price, i bought it in a deal that it only cost me 335 after tax. And i got this 70-300mm lens which is 140-600mm equivalent. Very useful for long distance shooting

Cons: The aperture is from 1/4, it hardly can be used when light is not enough, like indoor situation. It also can't get auto focus in a Inadequate lighting environment. And the image is not that sharpen, either.

Other Thoughts: It's a usable long distance lens. With this price, it performs well when lighting is adequate. I can't ask more, cause that will be called greedy...

5 out of 5 eggsaffordable and decent

Pros: at this price, + adding the extra focal range from my camera.. the value is unbeatable.

Cons: no complaints, it feels a little sluggish but i dont intend to take pictures on the fly.

Other Thoughts: to the first poster.. dont post service problems here.. they are very general in nature and probably not directed at the actual product. review the product not the story.. it doesnt help other buyers when they see a down rated product for for reasons other than product funtionality..

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value lens

Pros: Great reach! This lens is the equivalent of a 600mm lens on a full frame camera. It doubles as a macro lens. Lightweight lens for the reach it has.

Cons: Needs a lot of light, works best at approx F8. Fairly slow focus.

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent lens for the price. I'm not sure what problems the other reviewer had, but I've always had great support from Newegg and will continue to use them.
