Pros: The last one of these lasted nearly 4 years with almost constant use. Hopefully by spending the extra dough to get the Canon name, we can expect the same performance.

Cons: It was hard spending so much when third party options were cheaper and promised more charge capacity.

Pros: I have bought both Canon and generic batteries. The end result in this test was the Canon batteries lasted longer.

So you do get what you pay for with this battery.

Cons: Cost more.

I have had some good luck with off brands with other cameras.

Other Thoughts: I have tried several off brand batteries in this case none lasted as long as the canon.

If you go off brand buy more to offset their shorter battery life.

Pros: Its real genuine Canon battery. Made in Japan. Best of the best.

Cons: Expensive.

Other Thoughts: I bout one just like it on-line auction, box packaging was printed in Japan, but battery Made In China. Be aware! Had to file Paypal claim, sent it back. Pay little extra, but buy real Canon genuine.

Pros: i have a battery handle which is great i have this battery and the battery that my camera came with i cane go for weeks taking lots picture without chagrin
