Pros: Boots up and accesses date BLAZINGLY fast.

Cons: The bits where the SATA connectors are are so narrow it is hard to know if you've made a secure connection until you try to boot. That's nitpicky, because this is really a perfect drive build.

Other Thoughts: I've never seen Maya or Photoshop boot up so fast in my life! These Solid State drives are quite a leap from a traditional HDD. I'm planning on a M.2 drive for a second boot drive (Linux for Maya and as a rendering OS for speed) and will certainly choose Samsung for that drive as well.

Pros: Replaced boot drive (WD Blue) and the speed increase the very noticeable.
Samsung Magician software works well.

Cons: Did not come with a 3.5 -2.5 adapter. This is not usually an issue but I installed this in a older case for a friend.

Other Thoughts: SSD prices have come down alot recently but are still alot more then they should be. I can get a 4TB drive for less then this SSD cost. But it wouldn't be nearly as fast....

Pros: Speed and reliability is (MTBF) is amazing,

Cons: Price not quite there yet.

Other Thoughts: M.2 and U.2 are 3x faster than these but larger size availability is not there yet either,

Pros: First a disclaimer: We now use Samsung SSDs almost exclusively. We still have some Intel and Sandisk disks, but Samsung is what goes into all new systems.

There are several reasons for our choice. First is our experience with both reliability and Samsung service. Out of over a hundred drives, we have had failures on a small handful. Each time, Samsung gave good tech support, diagnostic assistance, and speedy replacements (sending a new drive before receiving the failed one).

Second comes performance. The 850 Pro line is almost the fastest SATA drive one can buy. Combine performance with the price and a 10 year warranty and nothing else comes close.

Finally, Samsung has management tools that are second to none. The bundled software works flawlessly to update firmware and optimize the drive. If you use Windows, the included system migration utility makes installing a new system drive point-and-click easy. Samsung has been better than most vendors about updating firmware to fix bugs and improve performance.

Cons: If you are looking for pure performance, this isn't the best there is (actually you should get a PCIe drive if this is the case). Also, we have found that on some older systems that relied on 3rd party chipsets for SATA 6G support that the Samsung drives produce lower random reads than they do if your system's Intel chipset handles the SATA.

Other Thoughts: The Pro series commands a hefty premium over the EVO series. There is a slight improvement in performance but the main differentiator is in reliability. The Pero series offers a 10 year warranty vs. 5 years for the EVO and is designed for much higher workloads.

We use Pro models in our servers and critical workstations where the cost of downtime easily outweighs the 30% price difference. Other systems have EVO drives.

Pros: Great read/write speed for the cost.
Turned my 4-year-old laptop from a slug to a super-fast workhorse.
Boot time went from 15 minutes (fully loaded - from power button press until no boot hard drive activity was seen) to about 2 minutes which is a huge difference.
Applications load extremely fast. Therefore, I can now use applications I wouldn't have otherwise (Adobe Creative Suite, hi-end games).

Cons: So far, I haven't had any problems with this device, although now that I've been using it for a few months, I've seen a slight slow-down in performance, but nothing that would keep me from purchasing this hard drive again.

Pros: - Samsung Magician makes managing the SSD a breeze.
- 10 Year Warranty
- Very fast

Cons: Honestly, I cannot think of any.

Pros: good iop rating... Fast read/write speeds...

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Looking at pci-e ssd as potential...

Pros: Samsung's magician software allows for easy optimization of ssd as well as OS itself to help optimize conditions for the drive. One of the fastest SSD's in its class. Able to be encrypted.

Cons: That it isn't a 950 pro, which is similarly priced and you may end up wishing you got instead.

Pros: The installation steps are easily laid out for you. Comes with great installation software. Cloning was quick. Computers speed shot through the roof!

Cons: none so far!

Other Thoughts: Would recommend this 10/10 times!
