Pros: The iRULU U8 Smart Watch is a descent smartwatch for its price point. The functions of this smartwatch seemed to work just fine, although the Altitude meter only measured 260ft instead of the 2200 ft. Like many others had mentioned this is really is a toy for an older child, after playing with it for more than a few days and lost interest, so I gave it to my 12 year niece, and she did in fact love it, as I was to embarrassed to wear it out of the house.

Cons: I really can not say anything bad about the iRULU U8 Smart Watch because it was only a $25 smartwatch, others should keep that in mind, "it is what it is for the price"

Other Thoughts: The iRULU U8 Smart Watch, worked just fine with an S3 just fine and my niece say it worked with her phone, I'm not sure what see is using, but really if you are looking for a smartwatch at a $25 price point, and for a older child, this should be just fine for that purpose.

Pros: Makes an ok.. gift for a kid.
Can be used as a stand-alone watch. It gives you time/date, stopwatch, alarms, calendar, temperature (in Celsius only), barometric pressure, pedometer, and calculator. As a “smartwatch” it has quite a bit of function for the price.

Cons: Construction- It is painfully cheap. As many others have stated it is awkwardly styled and the size is awkwardly thick. It uses a silicone wrist strap which is not uncomfortable but just feels a little awkward but feels somewhat tacky when you rest or slide your wrist across a surface or into your pocket. The GIANT logo “iRULU Connecting My World” logo on the white strap in black lettering is pretty tacky looking. The charging port cover is thin and made of silicone as well which is always coming out and just dangling… might as well not have it. Whatever material was used for the screen it seems very soft and prone to scratching to the point that I want to say it is plastic.

Instructions- Chinglish. First two lines in the manual “Thank you for choosing our sport healthy intelligent Bluetooth watch. You can read this manual and fully understand the use of the device, in fact, with a taste of the functions and simple method of operation.” I promise it doesn’t get better.

Display/Software- Colorizing is awkward. It seems to be an 8-bit display and can only use the apps that come on the watch. To interface with the apps with your phone, you need to download a “connect app” which is what is used to interface the phone and the watch. It does not seem to be needed to sync contacts and send/receive calls using the watch. If you want to look at the time or do anything on the watch, you MUST press the button on the side of the watch to “wake it up”. No exceptions.

Audio- Sounds pretty tinny. It can also be used to stream music to it like a wrist speaker. It is ok sounding and surprising loud for it’s size.

Other Thoughts: FOR THE PRICE, it has lot of function.

Basically, if you would consider using any of the “functions” of this watch seriously, you would more than likely just pull the phone out of your pocket and use a full featured device. It is a cute toy and would probably be better off being marketed for kids and an entry level device.

Pros: You know, if an item only has a few reviews and it's rating is low, the rating is automatically suspect. Any factory can barf out a few bad units when mass producing a product. Or just a few incompetent reviewers can skew the rating of a good product in the wrong direction. I have quite a bit of faith in the knowledge and talent of my fellow eggxperts, so surely the poor ratings were due to a few bad units, right? After all, this watch has handy features like a pedometer, altimeter, sleep tracker, fitness meter, and other goodies. It can even initiate calls on your phone, display and compose messages on the phone, and show you the phone's address book. It all works once you get it working, so it sounds great, right? Read on.

Cons: I think this thing came in a cereal box as the prize at the bottom. The construction was as flimsy and chitzy as any piece of electronics I have ever handled, toy or business-grade. The touchscreen was terribly prone to scratches and not particularly sensitive or accurate, so you often find yourself in the wrong app and trying to find your back to where you were. The text is generally painfully small to read on the screen and the resolution is low enough that enlarging it with a magnifying glass turns it into a blob of pixels. The app for connecting it to your phone is hard to find and tricky to configure (the QR codes included on the HORRIBLE instructions don't point to anywhere useful to someone who doesn't speak Chinese).

It just plain looks and feels like a toy on your wrist.

Oh, and did I mention that my first review sample was DOA and had to be replaced? That makes 2 eggxperts to have the exact same experience! Except that my second sample never died, although it might as well.

Other Thoughts: I really wanted to be the one who had some good things to say about this watch and raise the review average. Alas, I agree with the others. The only reason I gave it a second egg is because it does actually work if you have the patience to get it working, but I suggest waiting for smartwatch technology to mature a little bit and spending more than $20-$30 on it.

Pros: I honestly can't say anything good about this watch. Nothing.

Cons: The watch looks and feels like a cheap toy you'd get from the dollar store for a child, complete with silicone wrist band. Cartoon characters not included.

The screen has bubbles in or underneath of it (after pulling off the protective cover for shipping, of course), and scratches very easily from even just touching it with your bare fingers. Not good for a touch screen...

It comes with a USB charging cable, but no wall adapter. It's also not a very long cord.

There is no magnifying glass included for the tiniest print imaginable in the instructions... then again, the instructions aren't even worth reading because of the terrible translation into English, unless you want to read it for fun. My favorite line was "...you can synchronize the phone book smart machines..."

Even though I was able to connect my phone via bluetooth to the smart watch, it still requires an app installed to your phone to view your messages. Good luck finding this app... there are three different QR codes you can scan, one on the watch itself and the other two in the instructions, that take you to downloads, but each code is different and takes you somewhere different. Two of them take you to different Chinese sites, and I'm not clicking on anything I can't read, and the other QR code tries to take you to the Android app but it either doesn't exist or the code/address is wrong, because it doesn't work.

I tried two units; The first one worked maybe 20 minutes max before it just stopped working for no reason. It wouldn't charge, it wouldn't turn on, it wouldn't do anything. So, I contacted Newegg and got a replacement watch, and this one actually did work for about 2.5 hours before it stopped working just like the first one.

Other Thoughts: In the package it comes with a short charging cable, terribly translated instructions, the watch, and a piece of metal that I'm really not sure what it's supposed to be used for. 2 out of 2 died within a short period of time. I can't recommend this product. All I can say is at least it's not expensive if you do decide to take a gamble on a working unit.

Pros: I'll start off by saying, I don't think any adult would be caught dead in this thing, its got the build quality, look and feel of a toy you'd buy off a street vendor in Chinatown. Maybe highschoolers or college kids might wear one for fun, but the real demographic for this is probably children.

+Charges, not DOA.

+Fits my wrist, barely. Its a rubber wristband but I wasn't sure it was going to fit my wrist which isn't terribly thick as far as men's wrists go.

+Nice and bright display.

+You will always be reminded its close to Taco Bell time as the center icon looks just like the Taco Bell logo.

+I don't need to buy my niece a birthday present. While this thing is pretty much junk to me, she will think it is the coolest thing ever as her first kid's watch.

+The display is actually a touch display, albeit poorly implemented and unresponsive.

Cons: -Charging cap is loose, cheap.

-Not much functionality besides time and speaker output of whatever would be pumped to your phone. Its basically just a Bluetooth receiver.

-There's a bunch of disclaimer's about compatibility with iPhone 6, I basically found it has a speaker that can connect to Bluetooth that is very quiet and awful quality sound. Not even worth using in conjunction with your phone.

-You have to hit the side button to turn on the display, you can't just tap the touchscreen to get the thing to wake up.

Other Thoughts: So the low price is there for a reason, do not buy this if you are looking for a serious "Smart watch" I was actually surprised it paired up without any problems via BT to my iPhone 6 and supported the limited functions as described.

Would make a decent toy for a kid who has a watch and maybe a phone, if just for the novelty of having a light-up watch that is rechargeable for less than $20.
