5 out of 5 eggsNice little generator

Pros: Price!
Starts almost every time on first or second pull
Has fuel shutoff
No mixing fuel
Easy simple controls (choke, fuel shutoff, off/on button)
I think the 3hr runtime is conservative (I think completely topped off it would get and easy 6hrs)

Cons: It is definitely louder than the Honda 2000 I have (not really fair to compare it to a Honda based on cost of each)
I don't think the fuel gauge is al that accurate (nice to have one though!)

Other Thoughts: I own a Honda 2000 generator. We bought this for times when we didn't want to use the more expensive Honda, or as a loaner in times of power outages. It has ran perfect every time I have started it and used it. I have also had one of the HF 900 watt gens. This is way better than those (mixing gas is a pain!). I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to power the fridge/freezer and a few lights during a power outage.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat product for the price!

Pros: This is a very good little generator for the sale price. I've used it a couple of times. I bought this for my camper. Easy to start, charges the batteries and runs everything except the microwave. I really didn't expect that it would run the microwave. It has a small fuel gage on top of the fuel tank. I big plus in my mind.

Cons: It's not as quite as advertised. The ad states that it runs at 67db. The DB app on my phone says it runs at 84db. Not horribly load, just not as quite as advertised. I've also notice that the electric outlet is not the highest quality and a little bit lose, The electrical cord might vibrate out during use. Nothing dangerous or unusable, just had to spread the pins out on my old extension cord.

Other Thoughts: Great deal for the price. Make sure that you have the right expectation.

5 out of 5 eggsGOOD LITTLE GINNY

Pros: The generator arrived promptly and in good condition. I was anxious to test it to see if it was good as I hoped. Well it is.
I filled it with oil, put some gas in, turned on the fuel and choke and it started right up. I took the choke off immediately and let it run unloaded for about ½ hour. The RPM sounded a little fast but I let it run because testing was going to happen later.
Testing now, NO Load voltage was: 119.7, Good. Frequency: 65HZ, a little fast. So it will need a governor adjustment. Nowhere in the manual is there anything about the governor but I am familiar with generators and own a few. With it still running I found a screw on the governor spring bracket and made an adjustment to get it to 60HZ.
Now load testing. I put an 840 watt resistive (electric Hibachi) load on it and checked voltage and frequency. Volts were 119.5 and frequency was 58 HZ, so I turned the governor to 59 HZ, because that is a big load especially as 6000 foot altitude in Colorado. NO load is now 61 HZ, so a good compromise.

Cons: The manual covers several generators and has little info on this model. Only basic safety info and oil, gas and starting procedures.

Other Thoughts: I am impressed with how it performs and it is fairly quiet. At this price point, many can afford a Generator to run a basic or two in a power outage or camping.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty good for the money

Pros: It works. I bought this as an insurance policy against "El Nino" possible power outages. It should be enough to keep my fridge cool and (alternately) a small space heater and some lights running. It does have the ability to throttle up and down based on load - OR - it has a setting that will run it higher if the current demand goes up too fast. I hear some refrigerators have a very high initial demand when they kick on. It ran my Black'n'Decker power drills and saws with no problem. Except for the noise noted below, I'm happy with it.

Cons: It's louder than I thought it would be. Maybe about 2/3 as loud at idle as my lawn mower. Since I only plan to use it in an emergency, that should be okay; but, you wouldn't want to try to run it overnight....not that the tank would last that long. I guess the small fuel capacity is the other con. When I bought it, specs said 1.1 Gal gas; but, mine is actually 1.6 Gal. I haven't run it long enough yet to clock how long it will run on a full tank.

Other Thoughts: Warnings all over the box an product said it shipped with no oil. Tried to fill it up and it did already have oil. It appeared brand new with factory ties and unmolested manual/packaging etc so maybe they test run them at the factory with oil? If i ever had the urge to power a party at the park with this I would want to run it as far away as my cords will allow because of the noise. I've noticed a big flicker in the lights it powers; so, a power conditioner would be needed if I wanted to run audio gear or guitar amps etc for fear of damage.
