1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS MONITOR

Pros: Size & flexibility

Cons: VERY BLURRY (shadow images superimposed)

Other Thoughts: When I first got this monitor, I could see a visible "shadow" for all texts/images/shapes on the monitor

I tried updating the driver software, combing the windows forum so that all "shadow" visual effects were turned off, switching the cables, switching to a different computer, and basically whatever one should try out before blaming the product

None of the above worked out

I bought a "Full HD" monitor that makes my eyes hurt so bad from the blurry image that I need to rest after 10~15 minutes of work everytime

It's ironic how the marketing phrase is "A visually brilliant boost to your productivity." since this monitor is not visually brilliant (the image quality is worse than an old lcd monitor from the late 90s) and it has significantly reduced my productivity

Besides, I didn't even mention the visible scratch on the bottom plate that was there when I got this out of the box.

I read a review on this product from a different website and the review mentioned that the quality is inconsistent. I thought I wouldn't receive such a "bad egg". Look how happy I am right now.

And wait, the best part is yet to come

I won't be able to get a return or replacement because I threw out the box during the weeks I was trying to solve the problem

This one is totally on me since I should have simply repackage the product and complain to the company before trying to find the solution on my own

DO NOT BUY THIS MONITOR

I would recommend you buy a CRT monitor rather than buying this one, unless you want to torture your eyes and want to deteriorate your vision as soon as possible

If you do buy it, check for any problems and if you do find one quickly repackage and return it because who knows what other excuses will be used to reject a return/replacement request

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent monitor, excellent value!

Pros: I wanted an affordable monitor to use for everyday use and for photo editing using a laptop in an "away" office. In short, I am very very happy with my selection.

I used an X-rite i1 Display Pro "puck" and software to profile the monitor (using Windows 8.0) and made an inexpensive monitor hood out of black foamcore and gaffer tape. I later compared the results to my much more expensive 30" NEC which uses a custom "puck" and software for profiling and images edited with the laptop and P2414 did not need to be adjusted when moved them to my PC with the NEC.

To sum up, this monitor is great for everyday use and photo editing assuming you profile it (it is too bright out of the box) etc. (Even out of the box the colors were great.

Cons: Personally I don't like the silver colored trim on the monitor as i would prefer non-reflective black - but this does not affect my positive feelings about this monitor.

2 out of 5 eggsGood, not great; and certainly not worth $300+

Pros: height adjustable; 1(ea) HDMI, DVI, and VGA input; USB bridge

Cons: color is just okay...I expected more from and IPS panel.

Other Thoughts: I use these (I have two of them) on my primary work machine, so I stare at them all day. I was previously using a miss-match pair of 24" monitors that included a ViewSonic vg2428wm (a TN panel). The vg2428wm is noticeably brighter and all around better. If these were around $140-180, I might give them 4-eggs. So its the quality coupled with the price that warrants only 2-eggs

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It isn't a TN panel
Stand is very nice, gotta tilt a bit before rotate but it's pretty smooth
Screen doesn't tear like my previous TN panel (video/window dragging/auto scrolling)

Cons: Got one with a single dead [doesn't light] pixel, however it's off to the side usually where UI elements are and same goes for portrait.
Matte finish coating*

Other Thoughts: I play pinball games in portrait mode and there's very minimal contrast shifting and I don't perceive any latency difference between this and a TN panel I had before. The tables I had played for dozens of hours previously looked and played great on this IPS panel.

It's not documented anywhere but in portrait you can still tilt the screen which was a bonus for me, it will tilt far enough to clear the stand and you can lower the monitor even further if it's near a ledge.

*as my second LCD monitor ever and first serious monitor, I find solid colors show off the coatings imperfections. If you drag a window with a solid color around and you'll notice the little noise on the screen doesn't follow the image.. only bothers me a little when cleaning/manipulating images. Not sure if this is just a LCD technology limitation or the coating.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome monitor!

Pros: Clear, easy to read, great resolution, MATTE SCREEN!!! (not a fan of glossy screens), great viewing angle, multiple different connection options, no ghosting, height adjustable and rotate, comes with Display Port cable (& VGA).

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Bought a couple of these for the office (and got them on special!), because the U2312 monitors I had previously ordered are becoming hard to find. As soon as I had the monitors hooked up, I immediately wanted to order more!

Thought the included Display Port cable was great. A lot of manufacturers do not include anything other than a VGA (and sometimes DVI) cable. I have one hooked up with DVI and one hooked up via Display Port. Both look incredible.

Another really great feature is the panel that snaps over the cable connections on the back of the monitor. Really is a nice touch, especially for an office environment. I will most definitely be reordering this model the next time a new monitor needs to be purchased.

As a side note, if the price of this seems too high ($260), just wait a bit and you could get it during a Newegg promo. I think I paid $200 for each one (when they were on special). It is definitely worth the money!

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful monitor!

Pros: Gorgeous, vivid color and great viewing angles. Anti-glare coating is light and not distracting. Good brightness and black level, and backlight looks even. I haven't been able to notice any ghosting, even on fast screen images. Works well for movies. Adjustable stand is very handy, and OSD controls are intuitive (with real buttons).

Cons: No HDMI connection; would prefer an included DVI cable to DisplayPort.

Other Thoughts: I'm very happy with this monitor, but for the price, the 23" version might be a better value, especially since this is technically a 23.8" monitor. I wasn't able to find reviews on that model, though.
