Ideally, you would use this on a motor home or marine battery where the thing just sits for days or weeks (or more) to keep the battery in top shape. Regulates charging current nicely. Lights indicate status. Cons: Mine is older than the current model, and every once in a while it will go comatose when it's hooked up and not know what to do, flashing its lights at me. I just unplug it and plug it back in, and it's fine. Who knew you would have to reboot a battery charger? Took off one star for that - current models may no longer do that. Other Thoughts: May seem a bit expensive for a 1.25 Amp charger, but you're paying for the fact it maintains the battery and doesn't overcharge and kill it, can be left connected without worry.
